We have a striking lack of proper Switch representation thus far, in contrast to how the canon DLC had Byleth, Min Min, and Pyra/Mythra, so this would be a good way to bolster that. It would likely also help our first-to-third-party ratio.

The star of Astrial Chain. Some may feel this is too new to get in but considering we got Byleth, who's game released just a a month before AC, its possible Sakurai could get an early look at AC. There is a huge amount of moveset potential here.


If folks feel this doesn't work I'll swap it out

Gerry Riggs

From the Nintendo Labo series, Gerry Riggs would - fittingly for the construction teacher - build Labo Toy-Cons on the fly to use in attacks. He would also be able to summon different characters from within the Labo games. We have yet to see an elderly fighter in Smash, so Gerry would be unique for that aspect. He is also an actual character for the Labo series who would represent the content of the games as well as the cardboard itself - unlike a certain someone else.

Travis Touchdown is main character of NMH video game series. He is an Otaku who has Wrestling, VG and anime obsession.
However, he got a mysterious sword from package and because of that, he wants to be Assasin #1 according to game lore.
He is one of characters that is third party, but still he is "Shilling" pick for Smash DLC and one of most requested characters into Smash.

He could use his sword for random attacks and he could have Death Blows as gimmick, where he uses Smash attacks with Gauge that he has near his UI and when it's full, he could release a Death Blow.

Travis Touchdown could have some relations with Nintendo itself and he could fit in Smash without any issues.
Nuff said.

Dragapult

A Pokemon introduced in Sword and Shield, Dragapult is a Ghost/Dragon type with the notable feature of shooting Dreepy (its first-stage evolution) out as projectiles. It serves as the resident "pseudo-legendary" Pokemon of Galar.

If Dragapult wins, it would be a similar story to Greninja--Sakurai chose it based on his own opinions on the Pokemon and its moveset potential, and it just so happened to wind up extremely popular (voted the #1 Galar Pokemon in an official poll!) before its announcement. Said moveset potential would revolve around the Dreepy--perhaps they could be a projectile/boomerang-esque version of Luma? Plus, Dragapult would add more variety as a non-bipedal creature and as a Pokemon whose types have never been seen among Smash fighters before (Mega Charizard X notwithstanding).

Astral Chain may have missed the boat in real life, but it now has a second chance thanks to the magic of parallel universes (which I think is actually fitting from what I know of the game)! Our Challenger Pack 9 is Officer Howard!
