Hector the Reflector's Haunted House

This stage takes place in a room with a Wily Castle-styled main platform, and four floating platforms above it like in the picture. A large mirror spans the bottom of the screen, perfectly reflecting what goes on in the match. Sometimes, the camera will pan down, forcing the players to only use the mirror to see what is happening. Invisighouls (ghosts who are only visible in the reflection) will sometimes appear, carrying chairs, tables, or flowerpots. They'll fly into the mirror and leave cracks in it, which can temporarily block views in the reflection.

  2. Mini Boss - Yoshi's Island DS
  3. Big Boss - Yoshi's Island DS
  4. Baby Bowser - Yoshi's Island

Stage: Tetris Attack

This stage is essentially a Final Destination clone - the catch? The blocks raise up and down, sometimes extremely close to either vertical blast zone. The stage never changes shape or loses blocks however. The background is taken from Raphael the Raven's stage as a direct SNES rip. The stage also has a built-in combo counter! There is no Panel de Pon variant, regardless of your region.
  1. Yoshi's Theme
  2. Lakitu's Theme
  3. Sky Area
  4. Yoshi's Cookie Medley
Additionally, the "Lip's Theme" music track is now shared between Others and Yoshi to account for this stage, as is the "Lakitu's Theme" track

Echo: Velociraptor (Dino Crisis)

  1. Normals are the same if less cartoonish.
  2. The down air only hits once with both feet
  3. Similarly to Mr. Game & Watch, the Velociraptor only has one throw animation - an iconic dinosaur bite on the ground
  4. The Velociraptor doesn't hide in an egg as a shield or eat as a grab
  5. Heavier, bigger, and faster with no flutter jump - more of a hit and run Captain Falcon-style fighter
  6. Special moves are completely different - Neutral special is Bowser's Koopa Klaw from Melee
  7. Side special is taken from Diddy Kong
  8. Down special is taken from Ridley.
  9. Back special (since I assume whatever we have for Yoshi won't fit) is a powerful hit with the tail that reaches behind, a good tool for dealing with ambushes when a turn would be too slow. In the air it lets the dinosaur turn.
  10. Up special is doing a spiking scratch then jumping, with the scratch hitbox disappearing as soon as the jump happens
  11. Final Smash is actually very similar - only one type of Velociraptor appears however, and it takes place inside a research facility

I know nothing about Dino Crisis, I just want to play as a photorealistic dinosaur.
Beeg Yoshi

Yoshi, but beeg.

obligatory "slower attacks but stronger attack power" description goes here

Stage + music coming soon to a submission near you

Birdo

I think it's workable. Her tounge moves are replaced by Kirby style sucking and Egg lay is replaced with her shooting out an egg. Some visual touches such as her enter being pink.

Stage later maybe
Echo: Boshi

It’s him.

While he’s not as different from our favorite gween donkey as the other echoes in this thread, Boshi does have some unique tricks.
  • Boshi is both faster and stronger than Yoshi, but is also considerably lighter and has a worse jump, making him more of a glass cannon.
  • Boshi’s dash attack has him perform a running headbutt, similarly to Yoshi’s dash attack from 64 to Brawl.
  • Boshi’s forward tilt is also Yoshi’s 64-Melee straight kick.
  • Boshi’s up tilt is an upwards headbutt, just like… Yoshi’s 64 up tilt… huh.
  • Boshi’s back air is a dropkick just like Yoshi’s 64 back tilt.
  • Boshi’s Final Smash doesn’t have a cinematic, but the dash itself deals very high damage/knockback. In other words, Boshi has Marth’s Final Smash.
Still not as elaborate as the others I’ve submitted, but Boshi’s only unique traits are Yoshi’s hand-me-downs. Doesn’t matter, though - Boshi makes them look cooler.

Perhaps a stage later?

  1. Velociraptor
  2. Yoshi Chungus

Back special: Run!

A counter - Yoshi looks a little dazed and "out of it", hit him and he'll run off in fear like he does in the Mario games, giving him invincibility. However be warned - Yoshi is still bound to gravity when using this move, and you can't tell him to stop; turn; attack or jump when you want, so be VERY aware when using it. This move also doesn't attack.

Pooka and Fygar
Novice

Song: Namco Arcade Medley V1
Stage: Omega Great Cave Offensive
Opponents: Yoshi, red Kirby (Joker hat if DLC purchased)
Rules: Stamina, foes become big at high damage, Yoshi will occasionally get Curry Breath, Kirby will occasionally turn invisible.

AT Function
When summoned, Yoshi will try to grab onto opponents with his tounge and turn them into eggs. Said eggs then get thrown at other opponents to deal some extra damage to both the target and the opponent caught in the egg. If the egg flies too far without hitting anything, the egg will just break open with no harm done to the opponent inside so Yoshi can't just yeet the opponent into the blast zone effortlessly.

Spirit: Yoob

  • Stage: Tortimer Island
  • Music: Flower Field
  • Opponent: Giant Yoshi (pink alt)
  • Rules: The opponent's shield is more durable. The opponent has stronger throws. The opponent likes to use their Neutral Special.

Uh oh, Kirby forgot to watch the Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
Echo: Goomba

  1. Goomba is heavier, faster, and stronger than Kirby. He has only 2 jumps
  2. Most multihit attacks are swapped for single hit attacks
  3. The dash trip is back
  4. The jab attack is three bites
  5. Nair is based on Jigglypuff's
  6. Down special is a spike hat. When Goomba lands, he can roll out of the move, but it doesn't give him super armour. Just like Kirby's stone, there's different types of spike hat - including spiny shells, spike top shells, Pokey and Fuzzy (Mario, not Yoshi) themed hats, and even some crossovers like Kirby's needle hat and a Sonic wig
  7. Side special remains intact, albeit with a Mario style hammer design.
  8. Up special is Paragoomba wings, which function like Pit's up special from Brawl
  9. Neutral Special is a projectile - Goomba sends another identical Goomba to run forwards, it's not very powerful, but the psychological tricks are second to none. Any alt costume and visible power up Goomba has (bunny ears, rocket pack, e.t.c.), this imposter Goomba will also have, though it usually doesn't effect them functionally (with the exception of Mushroom sizes)
Stage: Crane Fever

The crane machine itself is 3D, but everything else - the background, the crane, the toys, so on are NES sprites. It's a lot bigger than it is in the source material, though still pretty cramped. The only way to get KO'd is by being thrown into the crane, it will then move you over to the glass chute - you can escape by mashing, but this is EXTREMELY hard, even with the crane being slow. Every time the crane successfully KOs, it will be faster and more durable for next time. The toys make the terrain a bit bumpy as opposed to a KOF Stadium clone, and are randomly generated in their position, though the glass chute isn't tangible. The glass chute is in the middle instead of the side to discourage camping.

  1. Menu - Kirby Air Ride
  2. Grab-Grab Battle
  3. The Tricky Stuff
  4. Kirby: Right Back at Ya! Theme
Spirit: Kirby (US Promotional Material)
Advanced

Song: Gourmet Race (Brawl)
Stage: Mushroomy Kingdom
Opponent: White Kirby (Ken hat)
Rules: Foe has a Smart Bomb equipped, Bob-Omb Rain

Pac-Dot
Novice

Song: Pac-Man
Stage: Battlefield Mario Bros.
Opponent: Yellow Kirby
Rules: Foe is passive, stamina, foe has 1% stamina.

Toc-Man
Ace

Song: Pac-Man Club Mix
Opponent: Giant metal Pac-Man, tiny green Kirby
Rules: Stamina, defeat the first foe to progress to the next, Kirby has 1 stamina, Kirby is passive, Pac-Man has a jet pack
Stage: Omega Shadow Moses Island

EDIT: Removed the Ristar spirit to save for Pac-Man

i love goomba way too much so i'mma skip the echo job this go around

Kirby Stage: Wondaria

Finally. The amusement park stage.

I could see the stage's rollercoaster playing a major part in the stage (although not to the same extent as my Mine Cart Madness submission), but generally, the stage will be a lot more stable and focus more on the aesthetic.

Music
(i do have a stage in mind for the english anime theme, but it'll be a while til then)

There isn’t a Boshi spirit - Assuming you meant Yoob, sure!
Don't know how I got that mixed up, heh

Back special; Yo-Yo
1676206589680.png

A simple zoning tool - Kirby spins a yo-yo, Kirby is propelled back by this move, while the yo-yo lingers where Kirby stood before. Only the yo-yo itself has a hitbox, so you can walk right through the string

Quick question relating to a character we'll be doing relatively soon:
Would you all be fine with Bowser's stage job being locked in as Bowser's Castle, and the submissions being for the layout and which game(s) it takes aesthetic cues from? Mostly so a stage doesn't get in just for calling dibs on Bowser's Castle
That’s fine by me.

Spirit: Copy Robot

  • Stage: Wily Castle (Battlefield form)
  • Music: Mega Man Retro Medley
  • Opponents: Mega Man, Kirby (invisible)
  • Rules: Defeat Mega Man to win. Kirby is immune to damage and knockback. The only attack Kirby will use will be Neutral Special, whether it be Inhale or whatever Neutral Special he copied off the opponent.

Wondaria layout
BB0AF9DC-9599-4431-91E2-BA16DBC4DF44.jpeg

The Red platforms are rollercoaster platforms - they're soft, but cars will drive by on rare occasion and ram into foes, always going straight from the left platform to the right platform to the top platform. The yellow triange is the roof of a tent - a soft platform that's bottom area covers up the fighters. Balloons appear containing items, and whenever the rollercoaster car drives by the top it will drop a powerful item like a hammer.

Fox stage: Counterpick Chaos

This stage has the background of Final Destination from Melee - when the stage starts it's a flat walkoff with 6 relatively large platforms, and the ability to use attacks is turned off - each of those 6 platforms is styled after one of the Melee competitive legal stages. The fighters will be instructed to choose a platform - once everyone has a platform, the battle begins proper with the classic Melee trophy entrance on a random stage from the assortment that were selected, albeit with the FD background. The Melee menu theme plays during the selection period, while the song that's actually been chosen by My Music will play once the battle starts proper. When the stage is morphed into, the stages will be assigned to players on their behalf. Team Battles require teams to share a stage

These stages are sped up drastically - Randall, Whispy, Stadium transformations, and FoD platforms are much faster - the stage will transform based on different criteria - in free-for-alls, it'll turn into the stage picked by the lowest ranking player; while in 1v1s it will transform every time a foe is KO'd into the stage they chose. These stages are provided with their original GameCube models and dimensions.

Play with Battlefield and Omega forms to access classic Melee stages, with the Battlefield form even featuring the classic battlefield background instead of the FD background used on the stage

songlist:
Melee Battlefield (Original)
Break the Targets (New Remix)
Melee Menu (New Remix)
Melee Menu (New Remix 2)

Pikachu stage: Poké Floats

Battlefield form is Avalugg and Stunfisk. I understand that a lot of you might think this fits better for Jigglypuff, but I feel like it works well for the mascot of Pokémon to present all the other Pokémon. plus i have plans for the puff.

Poké Floats songlist:
Skyarrow Bridge
Tutorial (Pokémon Trozei)
Everybody Polkamon
Slowpoke Song

Fox echo: Peppy Hare

He's slower and heavier with a more anti-zoning moveset that allows him to get close to his foes. His blaster creates an explosion at a set point (think Zelda's side special but instant and unangleable) that propels foes back to him; his reflector - known as the Evaporator - destroys matter based projectiles and reflects energy projectiles, and also has a bigger hitbox; his Fire Hare move goes up then down, with both phases being angleable to fit through narrow gaps; and his Illusion makes him invulnerable - it's slower and has more endlag than a roll, but also goes a longer distance and can be - thanks to it's special move placement - performed more quickly.

Pikachu echo: Cosplay Pikachu

This Pikachu is more flashy, and has as much attitude as Incineroar - even having cancellable move taunts. Like Inkling, those taunts are alt costume dependant - where Pikachu Libre does a strongman pose, Belle Pikachu will curtsy for example. Her gameplay is barely changed however. Pikachu Libre would be moved to this fighter's alt list as the default costume.

Fox Echo - Slippy

Would be a joke character like melee pichu, weaker attacks & easier to raise damage than Fox.

Meteo

Fight on one giant astroid while smaller ones pass by left to right as temporary platforms in random locations.

Fox Echo: Fay

Reflecting her stats in Star Fox 2, Fay is faster than Fox (scary thought) but also lighter. Her Down Special is the Super Shield, which acts similarly to Fox's Big Reflector custom move from Smash 4.

Pikachu Spirit: Bombchu

  • Stage: Hyrule Castle (Battlefield)
  • Music: Hyrule Field Theme (Remix)
  • Opponent: Pikachu
  • Rules: Bombchus frequently spawn. Pikachu's special moves have increased power.

Pikachu Echo

Pawmot

Pawmot would be a taller Pikachu that is heavier and stronger. and a lot of Tail attacks are replaced with Pawmot's Fists

Forward Smash is now Thunder Punch, basically a f-smash version of EWGF

Final Smash is now Terastal Double Shock, Pawmot terastalizes and releases a very powerful blast of Electricity.
