Whether or not a character becomes an Echo also depends on good timing as well.

If Chrom and DS had debuted in a previous Smash game when they were more relevant and would've been deemed a higher priority, then they might've had a unique moveset. However, since both of their games have aged a little (one more than the other), it was probably hard for Sakurai to think of a good excuse to prioritize these two over other newcomers. Echoes were a nice compromise, because otherwise, neither of these two would've gotten in at all.

Ok. Excuse me for never having played a Metroid before. But how on EARTH could you have given Dark Samus a unique move set?

Sakurai said all he could be was a fighter between Marth and Ike. And in the end that's pretty much what he end up to be.

So let me see if I got this right. The absolute likely characters we have got so far are:

• A Square Enix character, most likely either Sephiroth or a Dragon Quest character
• Steve
• Lloyd or Yuri from Tales of
• Some Nintendo sword character

I say the square rep is the only safe bet in there

All the others are rumors until I see it are own eyes

That’s right that L and Y thing I’m not buying it for one reason how do we know the person who said this is reliable

Steve is close to safe but that lost a few points since no Minecraft content but could be in the patch one update and also no boss but could also be added in the update or package

The only Nintendo characters that have decent chance right now is poochy and sylux in my eyes

Poochy since no craft world stage and yet the yarn one was removed and each package comes with a stage with a character so poochy can bring the crafted world stage and is pretty request and the spirit is not exactly poochy since they called him yarn poochy and not poochy

Sylux is because of Metroid prime 4 the creator hint quite a bit of times he’s involved of prime 4 and he was in the secret endings of prime 3 and federation force so it really depend how big sylux role is if main antagonist easily will be promoted for prime 4 in smash ultimate oh yea and he doesn’t have a spirit but two of the other hunters do

Couldn't it be possible for her to just not be a clone at all? She doesn't necessarily need to be based on Diddy, Dixie has a lot of moveset potential.

I was watching a did you know on Super Smash Bros. Brawl recently and I heard a fun fact how Dixie was supposed to be a playable character in the form of a tag team with Diddy. It’s supposed to reference DKC2 since that is one of the better known games of the series. However there were programming issues or something that the tag team character just didn’t work how Sakurai wanted. It could have been time constraints too. I believed it could have worked out because they got Ice Climbers to work.

ANWAYS...I say that to say this. I’d love for Dixie Kong to be a character BUT as a tag team with Kiddy Kong from DKC3. I know Kiddy isn’t very well liked but Diddy is solo and Kiddy was Dixie’s other tag partner. The moveset potential is even more limitless than just having another solo Kong character. Plus seeing how Dixie would be the light weight who has the hair helicopter recovery. Kiddy could be the one dealing all the hard hitting smash attacks. While Dixie helps with aerials, specials and things like that. A cool down special would be Kiddy picks Dixie up like he did in DKC3 and throws her at the opponent. It can be a Risk vs. Reward type of move that can eliminate someone with high percentage but if it misses then Dixie stays on the ground until Kiddy retrieves her or something. Obviously Dixie is the leader in this tag team and if Kiddy gets downed than she can still fight solo but her smash attacks are weaker.

All right folks yet another Smash dream coming through. This is unhealthy; I'm obsessing over this game.

Today I dreamed that Alucard got the SMT Nocturne "featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series" treatment. There was a brand new ad for the game (which I watched through the game's movie mode somehow) that was similar to the banner ad, but when it ended Alucard's voice actor from Symphony of the Night said "Also featuring Alucard!" and a graphic featuring The Game Boy Advance Castlevania games for some reason appeared on the box. I tried showing this to my Alucard-loving friends but accidentally played the Spanish version and they seemed unimpressed. I was convinced this meant he was DLC, though.

So according to my dreams, the Fighter's Pack is:
-Lloyd Irving
-Dr. Kawashima
-Alucard
-???
-???

We shall see if the prophecies come true.

Holy **** I'm looking at Belmont gameplay and they've got ludicrous stage control. It's gonna be FUN to piss off my friends who main DK and Ganon

Axe seems to be better than I thought in neutral as it combined with Cross creates a whole area in front of them that's just a No Entry Zone.
Axe also deals ridiculous shield damage so it's a good combination with Holy Water for shield pressuring.

It's a shame that they gave Ken and Chrom moves their originals didn't have but that move couldn't be one of DS's smash attacks, even as a downgraded version with just one tentacle.

So instead of being a literal echo of Samus she would be a Luigi esque clone where they borrow a few animations and maybe a move or two but are otherwise unique. I could be down with that.

She could've been way better, but I can't complain too much. I realize that her being an Echo of Samus was probably the only path to her getting in Smash as a playable character.

Well, unless they decided to bring her back in the Metroid games, but that seems extremely unlikely.

1. The algorithm they use is really stupid.
2. It's unnecessary censoring when tags and safe search are already available.

Chrom and Lucina have access to lances in their promotion, and Lucina uses bows in pretty much every single guest appearance/crossover she's been in (minus Smash).
Dark Samus has all the phazon stuff going on for her.
Dark Pit has access to a wide array of weapons that Pit doesn't use (claws, staffs, swords)
Daisy could use stuff from sports/spin-offs
Ken could be upgraded to a semi-clone

What’s so bad about adult content ending on tumblr?

It's less the idea of adult content ending on Tumblr and more that their auto flag system is so godawful that instead of coming to fix it they just decided to ban any NSFW content outright and don't check the false flags. It's damaging to "muh porn", sure, but it's worse because as a place that has a healthy community of people often younger and marginalized it was often used as a place to show experimental art (not just pornographic) and as a whole made accessing content and sharing content accessible. The NSFW side of things also stretches to people who do NSFW stuff for a living (art, fics, photos, etc) so to just up and say "we got tired of moderating the spambots so let's just kill it all off" it shows a profound misunderstanding of what the site is actually used for.

Combine with an overzealous bot that is flagging everything from memes of aliens to dumb text posts that say The F Word to images of Ana Amari from Overwatch (because Anorexia was shortened to Ana in tags often and said tag was deemed a "nsfw" tag despite being used for support for people with eating disorders) you have a recipe for disaster. I don't know if Tumblr will truly "die" but it's a shame that they're getting a huge portion of the community to abandon ship because the mods are too lazy to deal with the spambot problem.

To some people it might seem as simple as "ha ha good riddance" but in reality losing fandom spaces can be upsetting and dangerous, especially one as tied to the convention scene as Tumblr. It's like, damn, guess it's time to find another place. But that doesn't mean it's the same. To use Smashboards as an example, if Smashboards went down tomorrow for good, sure you could find a new forum but that is literal years of history, our history as fans, gone in the blink of an eye because of an arbitrary decision, and it doesn't mean that whatever rises up to replace it will ever be the same because who knows where everyone is migrating to?

And before anyone says "we're all dust in the wind bro I'm edgy and read catcher in the rye once" yeah I know that. Everyone does. But as humans we need a place to express ourselves and our identities and our histories in those identities, as weird as that is, so to lose a pillar of that community suddenly with two weeks of warning has everyone panicking just a little.

Simon and Richter is probably the reason he developed the concept at all (The east wants one the west wants the other and they play VERY similarly). Then he looked into how it could work to bolster the roster with a couple other semi clones.

Besides. It’s just a marketing term to get people to be okay with a lot of clones.

Dark Samus uses unique Phazon powers like the ones present in its assist trophy. She can use Shrapnel Beam and Phazon Pillars seen in her AT:

Dark Pit probably wishes to be as unique as Dark Samus is.

She may be an evil entity taking over Samus’s Dark Suit, but she has cool stuff like:

-Dividing herself on battle.
-Fly
-Use Phazon in any form she wants to (grapping stuff, break any electric system or device, turn anything into dark entities controlled by her with it, etc...)
-She can poison anything
-etc...
