Katalina doesn't deserve to be in Smash for these simple reasons:

- Only popular in Japan.
- Not iconic or heavily recognizable.
- Not a character directly tied or funded by Nintendo at the same level of Bayonetta.

I have no problem with her design and potential moveset, but the pure truth is she doesn't deserve to be in Smash until:

- Granblue is massively popular in countries other than Japan.
- Katalina herself becomes more recognizable.
- She becomes someone who has closer ties to Nintendo.

I’m saying that saying Nintendo owns some stock in Cygames isn’t exactly a super strong argument.
Also, damn, nice context-stripping abilities.

Katalina doesn't deserve to be in Smash for these simple reasons:

- Only popular in Japan.
- Not iconic or heavily recognizable.
- Not a character directly tied or funded by Nintendo the level of Bayonetta.

- Granblue is massively popular in countries other than Japan.
- Katalina herself becomes more recognizable.

4: EA (killing franchises and fooling consumers to buy loot boxes).

Bayonetta is so closely regarded by Nintendo she was marketed as a Nintendo character alongside Peach, Toadette, Zelda/Tetra for Women's History Month.

She is classified in internal documents as a Nintendo product when discussing earnings.

Nice try, but Bayonetta is practically Nintendo's. They control that franchise's future more than Sega ever could.

If they in the unlikely event they get bored with her. The franchise is dead because you can't very well sell Bayonetta 4/5/6/whatever on a Sony or Microsoft system without people being able to catch up on previous installments that Nintendo completely owns.

So you may say cop out. It's really not. I'm sorry you grew attached to this little character but she's just not worthy right now. She's not a bad character because of that, but she's just not worthy.
