Besides the text, the backround is a little different from the american version. Aslo Meta Knight is in a different place.

It has a rating: what does it mean? Maybe we'll get the same.

Woah, sucks being american... That boxart it's so so much better than the one we're getting. >.<
There's not that much difference and does the boxart really matter that much?

Anyway...at least you're not European.

Eh, not much of a diffrence other than text and diffrent placement of Meta-Knight.

Box-art looks nice though. Oh, and does the Japanese cover brighter than the American one or is it just me?

That's true, it sucks to be a European smash fan. :(

But yeah, there are just several characters in different places on the boxart covers and the background is different, but other than that it's pretty much the same, if you don't count the Japanese. I actually think this somewhat confirms the Brawl going Gold news, too.

Everyone seems to be in a slightly different place actually. Pikachu's ear covers Mario's button more, Link's hat covers PT's arm more, same with Mario covering Samus's arm, Kirby is in a different spot above Wario and further away from Pokémon Trainer, Peach's dress is almost fully hidden by Mario, etc. I don't really think this matters that much. :p

Is anybody else getting the feeling that the boxart confirms all the starter characters?

Currently: lost in the realm of Akanea.
WTF That's the same picture... why do people think the Japanese and American version are so different? not only that, but Japan normally gets differect box art than us, but since the time between the Japanese release and the North American release is so small, it doesn't suprise me that it's the same art...

Sakurai must think that the americans have bad eye sight because all the characters pictures seem bigger than the japenese.:dizzy:

Seen it in Gamefaqs the day of the delay and at Gamestop a few weeks ago. Looks alright, fits the dramatic theme that they are working on via Subspace Emmisary.

This boxart is spectacular, I completely adore it. Well, the American one has yet to be posted on our Dojo, so I'm assuming that we might get the altered Japanese one. Either way, I'm framing it in my room (along with the Melee box art).

The box art looks ok, but not amazing.
I personally love it! But, see, Nintendo is making the box art appeal to more casula fans because it really isn't showing in game graphics (which might intimmidate some...silly, I know). This box art was great, suprerior to Mario Galax, Metroid Prime 3, and Twilight Princess.

...Are you kidding? Seriously, there is nearly NO difference whatsoever, save the lighter background. And frankly, I prefer the darker background on our boxart: it draws a starker contrast with the white light emanating from the background.

Yeah, because you'll really buy the game and complain about the boxart for a good while instead of putting the dang game in your Wii. :ohwell:

Besides, I don't think a slightly lighter background, a little bit of clouds, and subtle character placement you shouldn't have to notice will matter much. I'm not European, but it really sucks for them.

Eh... this box art doesn't do much for me. I just don't really see it standing out among the other games next to it on the shelves and saying "Play Me. I will own the everloving **** out of your other games" :-p

I think I'd rather just see a few of the "big guns" (Mario, Link, Samus) doing a badass pose up front, possibly with the Final Smash aura about them, followed by shadowy forms of the other characters trailing off behind them, with the SSBB logo front and center above them.
