I'm not saying it's out or will be FYI. But I think it could be a cool game... :D Being able to kick but, wherever you are? Pure awesomeness... Maybe they could even use Brawl's Roster but reduce it a bit... That is... :p Some third parties... And while being DS maybe it could only have the Classic mode and the Melee Adventure Mode (not SSE). So... Whaddya think??

PS: They could also add some Wi-fi. ;)

I can see this happening, but the tough part is deciding in making it 2D completely, or 3D (characters and background, not 4 directional).

I think the PSP would work better, as it has better hardware.
Oh wait.
It's Sony's.
Darn.

They could make 3D. :p Just look at NEW Super Mario Bros. For a DS Smash Bros, those graphics could work. Heheh, I could be fine with them.

According to SmashWiki (When the page was up, anyway.), Sakurai's expressed interest in this, actually. And so has Miyamoto. But the page was deleted...

Oh well. It could happen; there'd probably be connectivity between Brawl and it. Perhaps something to do with drawing stages and sending them to the Stage Maker?

It's a really good idea, actually. It'd probably be a little on the hard side, though, and the characters would most likely be cartoony sprites instead of full 3-D models. Not that stages though.

Probably >20 characters, >25 stages.

lol wut?

The way I see it, the DS is a slightly more powerful N64. They had smash there, why not here?
Keep the original 12, add a few characters (Wario, Bowser, Ganondorf, Meta Knight/DDD, Diddy, Sonic), a few stages (Pokemon Stadium, Battlefield, FD), and ATs and FSs.

The reason I said that it would be tough to decide between 2D or 3D would be because of all the mayhem on the screen. Smash Bros 64 didn't have a million assist trophies and pokéballs all at the same time as characters, plus if this happens on wi-fi, the lag would be killing me.

There once was a DS version in development, but it was by a fan, and Nintendo had it canceled. Maybe Nintendo will make one sometime themselves, and if so, I'm definetely gonna get it, even if it's just a ported N64 version.

I don't see why it can't happen, but it'd be real weird without a control stick. unless they just use the screen as a control stick which would be awkward.

Just like Kokichi said in that other thread, the Brawl boards are to discuss SSBB, if you want to discuss SSBDS then you can always use the lighthouse.

And also, you people need to check out Jump Ultimate Stars DS. It is basically Smash Bros with anime characters and online capabilities, plus a few twists. Amazing game made by Nintendo, and by far the closest thing to Smash DS.
