Well it's obviously going to sell less and less every week. Staying in the top 10 in Japan for 10 weeks is very good. Like I noted earlier, Nintendo sorta started that trend with the DS and Wii. Before that, no game really stood there for that long. Not even Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy.

What's really crazy is Monster Hunter which has overtaken Brawl in just 3 weeks =O

what is Monster Hunter and why is it better than brawl?

Monster Hunter is a really popular franchise in Japan that isn't as popular here in the West. It's a more "mature" Pokemon game you could say. That is to say it uses a more realistic design. It's one of the big reasons for the PSP's success. It's a handheld game which automatically gives it a higher sales potential in Japan. It's really community based with lots of wireless connectivity so in Japan where lots of people have it, I'd imagine it's quite a bit of fun. Wikipedia it =)

This week marks the first week Brawl is out of the top 10 in Japan (and due to that we don't know how much it sold this week). Will be able to update the number if it ever hits top 10 again. If not, we'll have to wait until the annual sales report.

In Japan, Smash has not hit the top 10 again for the last few weeks. We probably won't get full numbers for it for a while. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is now officially at 5 million copies sold worldwide. It has yet to launch in Europe.

Brawl's a better game than Mario Kart. Mario Kart has not caught up to Brawl in North America or in Japan yet.
