Smash 64 is 20 years old!

On January 21st, 1999, a game called Nintendo All-Stars: Dairantou Smash Bros. hit Japanese storefronts with little fanfare. For some reason Nintendo thought a game with Mario, Link and Pikachu crossing over for the first time wouldn’t be a big deal?

Smash 64 honestly has aged pretty well in terms of how fun it is even compared with all the stuff ultimate has to offer.

I still have the old N64 cartridge of the original version which I remember having the game for Christmas. The Smash series is still a gem which had evolved a lot within the past 20 years.

Anyways, happy anniversary to Smash!

The game is still relevant thanks to Smash Remix: Version 0.9.4 and the ability to finally be able to play as Bowser.
