Ok, that sounds good then. The thing I think we should do right now, as I mentioned in a previous post, is determining the top 40 some players, regardless of ranking. From looking at some of the lists people have now, it seems that the majority of the top 32 is agreed upon. There are still some things to figure out though, so I hope we can get a lot of community feedback here on who they should be.

Here are the 41 players who were mentioned in previous lists:

6WX
9B
Abadango
Ally
ANTi
Dabuz
Earth
False
Fatality
FOW
Hyuga
K9sbruce
Kamemushi
KEN
Kirihara
Komorikiri
Larry Lurr
Marss
Mew2King
MKLeo
Mr. R
MVD
Nairo
NAKAT
Nietono
RAIN
Ranai
Regi
ScAtt
Seagull Joe
Shaky
Shuton
SlayerZ
Trela
Tweet
Tyrant
Vinnie
VoiD
ZeRo
Zinoto

So the question I guess is whether that is a solid list for the top ~40 in the world, or if there are players in there that shouldn't be, and players who aren't there that should be. I imagine everyone will have there own opinions on a couple players, but the closer we can get to a consensus the better.

Pink Fresh should always be mentioned in the top 50 of any list if I'm also mentioned.

Ok, look at it this way.

Ranai was seeded over Abadango at Genesis. Why? Because we know he's the best player in Japan, and that Abadango clearly isn't.

No one was arguing that Abadango should be seeded over Ranai at G3. Just because Kamemushi isn't quite as well-known doesn't invalidate his accomplishments in Japan, where he is clearly significantly more consistent and clearly above Abadango. Same situation, different player, Kamemushi should get the nod.
Ranai was seeded over Abadango because there was an abundance of evidence beyond Japanese results to suggest his ranking, including actual interaction with top north american players. So far in this thread, I've seen no evidence on the level of that which we had with Ranai presented here. Another huge difference between now and then is that Abadango became the third person ever to win a Major National tournament in Smash 4 when he took Pound 2016 (9/15 top PG ranked players were in attendance). Kamemushi doesn't have anything like that. Kamemushi should definitely get a top 32 seed. There needs to be way more evidence to suggest Kamemushi being the top ranked Japanese player.

You mean being the most consistent Japanese player from 1.1.5 onwards?

Abadango won Pound, a major international tournament featuring 500+ entrants, and has failed to finish outside top 8 only once in any North American tournament he's entered. That should be the end of the discussion, and I fail to grasp why it isn't.

Guys, this isn't a place for discussion, please let's limit ourselves to post our own lists so Bear can have something to work with.

Same with Kamemushi in his region (Which Abadango is inconsistant in)

Just to make sure you're warned in advance: accurately seeding the japanese players is pretty much impossible. You can consult @Djent @juddy96 Jucchan Jucchan or myself if you want information on specific players but don't get yourself a headache trying in vain to figure out where you should seed somebody like Ranai.

Yeah I have the full PGstats team (including @juddy96) consulting on CEO 2016 seeding, but we'll ensure everything is as the best as it can be for top 32 at EVO 2016

Wondering why we're only seeding top 32, at least top 64 seeding would be warranted for such a large event.

A | 2nd - 8th | Nairo, Larry Lurr, Mr R, Abadango, Larry Lurr, Ally, Dabuz, MKLeo
B | 9th - 16th | Komorikiri, ANTi, VoiD, Marsss, Trela, Kamemushi, Ranai, Mew2King

D | 22nd - 32nd | 9B, Rain, Earth, Nietono, Shaky, Tyrant, Vinnie, 6WX, Scatt, Mr. ConCon, Fatality

Ranai has been playing SFV lately so I think it's safe to say Komorikiri will place above him taking into account his recent results. Also if Leo participates he will place right behind Dabuz. Dabuz is low considering his recent major results. Mostly a copied list but that's because I mostly agree.

Making a top 32 list is extremely difficult, after number 22 I really can't find any rationale as to why any player would be above anyone else. There are like 20 different players who could make 22-32 in any order. i'll post the full list of who those might be when I have more time.

1. Zero(not very far ahead of the pack but still ahead)
2. Dabuz
3. Nairo (Nairo travels more than Dabuz does but at tourneys they both attend Dabuz does better)
4. Ally
5. Mr R
6. Anti
7. Abadango
8. Larry Lurr
9. Void
10. Kamemushi(would have seeded higher if he placed well at Sumbato 11)
11. Marss
12. Zinoto
13. Trela
14. Komirikiri
15. Hyuga
16. Ranai
17. Fow
18. Tyrant

21. Mew2king
22. Nietono

Is seeding done. I know pools are posted but seeds are still being switched around. Anyone have a projected top 32 yet?

Zinoto should DEFINETELY be in top 32. 2nd at a major tournament speaks volume. I wouldnt place him in top 10 as its his only breakout performance at a major (aside from 7th at combo breaker but thats still nothing compared to what others have) but anything outside of that range is fine and 8-10 range wouldnt suprise me.
