Smash 4 Collegiate - Mid-Atlantic Regional Qualifier Results

The Smash 4 Collegiate got off to an exciting start this weekend with several teams clashing against one another to see who would come out on top! The Mid-Atlantic Regional qualifier took place with thirteen colleges representing. Only one of these teams would come out on top and the team that placed second advanced to the divisional championships against the top 2 teams from New England. Let's take a look at how the action went down!

Here are all the teams that competed:
  • Brooklyn College
  • Seton Hall University
  • Kutztown University of Pennsylvania
  • Dominican College of Blauvelt
  • Stevens Institute of Technology
  • Ramapo College
  • SUNY Purchase
  • Cornell University
  • Rochester Institute of Technology
  • Montgomery County Community College
  • New York University
  • Rutgers University
  • University of Maryland - College Park
Out of these thirteen only a few would come close to the end and some of the matches were incredible. University of Maryland - College Park (UMD) came up against Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) in semifinals and found a tough match ahead of them. With the team down seven stocks to two Snow managed to pull out a clutch win to eep the team alive. It wasn't the only match brought back by one strong player. DH | Squidboy managed to take down 5 stocks in the NYU vs Rutgers match.

In the end UMD took the day with a first place win so Rutgers will have to fight in the divisional championships.
The brackets for those interested are available here and VODs of the event can be found here and here. Be sure to stay tuned to Smashboards for future Smash 4 Collegiate updates and best of luck to all teams competing!
