Should I Switch Mains?

So I was planning on starting to go to events and I've been practicing with Roy as my main. I basically mastered wavedashing, wavelanding, shffling, teching, moonwalking, edgeattacking, edgedashing, ken combo, etc..... with Roy. The thing is, I recently tried Falcon and Falco. I picked them up and I'm just 100x better and efficient with them, and I'm starting to see why Roy is low tier, I just feel much more flexible and faster with these two characters, I would 4 stock people with them while I would have 1-2 stocks left with Roy, or I would even lose. I'm just wondering, is it honestly worth giving up my boy Roy for these 2 overused characters? I feel as though if I continue playing Roy I could make it far in tournaments, the thing is, if Sethlon and other Roy mains couldn't, how could I? So, basically, in conclusion, Falcon and Falco or stick with Roy. Now, I can't just take all 3 since going from playing Falcon/Falco to Roy just feels horrible.... and I can't switch to Marth either since playing him feels gross.

Do whatever allows you to have the most fun. If the increased win rate from the stronger characters is more fun for you, then use them. There's no point in trying to be special by maining the character that no one else does unless it is simply how you have the most fun with the game. I would also say that Falcon is far from overused, and how can a character even be overused if it is winning? You could argue that Roy is actually overused because he is a very weak character and still has players using him.

If winning is important to you at all, just get it over with and switch out to save yourself from the heart ache. If the game is unbearable without playing as Roy, then keep playing Roy. You can still use Roy in friendlies.

Play Falco to start (and make it out to everyone that you're a Falco main), switch to Roy if you get wrecked by someone. Your best chances are probably with Falco, but if you lose with Falco, you can possibly beat them with Roy, at least in part because they don't know the Roy MU well enough (Mew2King has won various tournament rounds with Roy or Mewtwo - while these are against players who are not the best of the best, they are still highly skilled, and it should tell you that you can certainly get quite far with Roy). I know I've beaten people I lose to with my Falco (more or less my main) because my Link can do all kinds of silly stuff they don't expect, and I've almost lost to a pocket Roy much in the manner that I've suggested to you (they started off Fox though).

Note that this strategy likely fails if you already have a strong Roy main in your area, because people will be somewhat prepared to fight Roy.

While I do think it's more worth your while to switch to higher tier, I'd just like to bring this to your attention:

Low tiers: if you're good, you're INFAMOUS
