  • @ SypherPhoenix SypherPhoenix for giving me a crash course on TIO and helping me with regional seeding when I was flustered by the number of entrants. Your ranking and bracketology skills are very much appreciated. What was that project you told me to check out again?
  • @reslived for helping me get the club up and running, for arranging tables with me, helping me bring TVs in, for letting me borrow your laptop, for helping update all of the results, and for everything else you do for our scene despite being primarily a Brawl player. We share a similar enthusiasm for our smash scene and I hope we can continue to put on some awesome events. I'm sorry that Brawl had the limited amount of entrants that it did.
  • @ CTL17 CTL17 for inspiring me to promote the College Park melee scene. This tournament would not have had the amount of entrants it did if not for the reputation that the Shell Shocked series has built. I'm honored to be a part of it. You're great friend and a DDR master. My skills are not worthy. Best of luck in Michigan and safe travels! Also thanks for updating the stream and commentating.
  • @JippyTheLion for manning OBS for a good majority of the tournament, and for all of your help with numbering the TVs and running the tournament. Also thanks to your dad for the VGA splitter, it was great being able to show matches on the projector. I think we share a similar obsession for making awesome technical things happen, and I really appreciate your shared dedication to quality!
  • @dkuo for the awesome stream overlay and for all the gfx work you do for the SSB club. We all miss you a ton, but I'm glad that you're still able to be a part of this scene through all your awesome designs.

  • @ Wenbobular Wenbobular for almost beating Chillin and for always being up for Sardi's. I hope you aren't as down on yourself as you always say you are. You are SO close to breaking through your barriers in this scene. You inspire me to keep fighting and laughing.
  • @ B BigWenz for fetching DP Dough and consequentially preventing Chu from holding up the bracket when he took half of my calzone. I'm sorry you missed Chillin v. Wenbo, I have a crowd video I recorded on my phone that I might upload.
  • @ emoDinosaur emoDinosaur for sticking with me in teams despite Marth's/my own suckiness. You were SO CLOSE to beating Clyde >_> didn't he beat you in some other tourney? Rivalry brewing?
  • Dutch, Mada Jr, Bouyer, and the rest of the Cambridge crew for always helping with TVs, setting up, breaking down, and for being enthusiastic about the scene. You guys give me the motivation to keep strengthening our scene.
  • kvn for going back and getting your headset. Dual commentary is always better in my opinion, thanks for making it happen!
  • @ ChuDat ChuDat and @ chillindude829 chillindude829 for playing a great Grand Finals set. As a TO and streamer/uploader I appreciate the great matches that you guys always bring.

  • everyone who donated to the SSB club at UMD! Your donations will go towards setups, TVs, stream equipment, and anything else we can use to put on better tournaments. We appreciate your support! I should've gotten each of your names, I apologize for not doing so.
  • everyone who brought a setup! I was a bit worried that we might not have enough since we didn't have a venue fee/setup discount scheme in place, but I appreciated everyone who went out of their way to bring a TV regardless
  • the staff at UMD Computer Science for letting us use their venue

  • everyone who came! Thanks for bringing the hype with over 52 entrants.
Apologies to everyone who got lost on their way here. This seems to be a common trend with CP tournies. I'll post better directions next time.

EDIT: Ways I plan to improve as a TO:
  • Providing better directions so folks can reach the venue on time
  • Not even hesitating a little bit to DQ people who don't show up on time
  • Using TIO for regional seeding and setting things up as people sign up
  • Configuring TVs differently to allow for the most space
  • Numbering TVs in advance, and...
  • ...writing all available TV numbers on the whiteboard with the match that should be played there to avoid confusion during the first few rounds
If you have any more suggestions for ways that I can improve, please let me know! I'm open to all criticism.

To add to that, I actually lost to his Falcon, not his Fox. Went undefeated in pools too (beat Darrell and Raynex).

It's OK, Mike. None of us knew about how this tournament was going to go. I just feel a little bad for Wife if he didn't have as good of a time up there, though.

This HIV+ can have the name - the HIV+ of Michigan changed his tag to Vaccine the week before he beat KirbyKaze

General Heinz on the other hand has not changed his tag. Both were not in attendance at this event.

Looking forward to watching these vids now
