why do you people play such a terrible character?
I mean, seriouslym, sonic has no priority and there are so many issues with the way he was implemented. if you choose to main him, you must be ********.

I'm going to report the OP, but I felt like a legitimate answer should be given nonetheless.
You clearly don't understand how Sonic works. You might as well go to the MK boards and say "onoez he's so light! no kill moves!!!".
"Sonic has no priority": Do you really understand how priority works? I've studied it very well, and I consider this claim to be fairly illegitimate. Sonic's "priority" is fine, but more importantly, priority alone does not determine advantage; well, it depends how you define priority. If I have a "high priority" move that comes out really slow, that's a fair tradeoff for a fast move with "low priority". Go one step further; I have a "low priority" move that isn't so very fast, but my
character is fast enough that I can get myself in range and use the move as punishment. Subject to the special constraints and considerations of the fighting game, this can also be a perfectly fair tradeoff, and that's part of how Sonic was designed.
But I'm still using the word "priority" as a bit of a red herring, because it's not something that explicitly exists, but is a
perception based on a myriad of factors in the game, which cannot all be compared in a linear "good vs. bad" manner. Once again, I'd argue that Sonic's priority is fine.
Anyway, Sonic has a ton of
options from almost every situation, his moves are great for fake-outs and pressuring, his recovery (and gimping ability) is fantastic, his shield-grab game is phenomenal and a staple of his gameplay. Iunno, his matchups are pretty neutral across the board, he's underestimated and he's fun to play? What's your problem, anyway?
