Thursday, September 4th - 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Friday, September 5th - 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Salt Lake Comic Con is back for its second year, and with it, comes the second annual Super Smash Bros. Tournament with a new name - Smash Comic Con! We’re trying to top last year’s tournament as well as the FanXperience tournament in April by including not only Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Melee, but also the much requested Project M!

Players need to provide their own controller for matches – any controller that works with the game may be used, including Wii Remote, Wii Remote+Nunchuck, Wii Remote+Classic Controller, or GameCube Controller. If you plan on using a Wii Remote, you are encouraged to bring a back-up controller and batteries just in case.

If you need a controller for the tournament, we will have GameCube controllers that you can rent for $5 and an ID. When you are finished with the controller, we will give you your ID and $3 back.

For this tournament, we don’t need to ask our participants to bring TV’s, Wii/GameCube Systems, or copies of the games as everything will be provided by Gamer’s Abbey.

VENUES
For Preliminaries:

Radisson Salt Lake City Downtown - Wasatch Ballroom
215 W South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

For Top 4 and Finals:

Salt Palace Convention Center - Room 155
100 SW Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

Parking will be limited downtown because of Salt Lake Comic Con being held, so all attendees and spectators are encouraged to take UTA public transportation. On Saturday, the finals will be at the Salt Palace Convention Center in room 155 which is the Gaming room, and all matches will be played out live on stage in that room.

Those who make it to the Top 4 in any of the tournaments will be given passes to enter the event for Saturday. All other spectators will need a pass to Salt Lake Comic Con to watch the event live. Passes that will get you into the event are a Saturday Only pass, a Multipass, a Gold Pass or a VIP Pass. To buy tickets, go to the Salt Lake Comic Con website.

Pool ties will be broken as follows:

Are the two days of preliminaries going to have different games or are all games going to be stretched over the two days?

Sorry for the late reply: Different games on different days: Thursday: Brawl, Friday: PM and Melee, Saturday: Top 4/ Finals for each tournament played on on stage at Salt Palace.

Any idea about parking at the Radisson?
Parking will be fairly packed all of downtown because of the convention. If you can't take TRAX or UTA buses, I would recommend carpooling so you can split the cost of parking at somewhere like City Creek.
