Dair 2 Dair #1 kicks off the start of a series of tournaments hosted by Dougherty Valley High School, hosted in conjunction with NorCal High School Smash!

This is exclusively a high school tournament, so only high schoolers will be allowed to compete. The only acception will be this tournament, as seen below.

You must bring your ID Card, or some proof of age (Driver's licence, Schoolloop, etc) to enter.

Because it's near the start of the school year, and this is the first tournament of the high school season, we will allow first year graduates to compete in the tournament, provided they still show up with their proof of age. As a result, this tournament will not count towards any form of NCHSS Power Rankings. Next month, boys.

The venue of this tournament, and hopefully the ones to come, will be hosted at the card shop, Galaxy Games, in Dublin.

The venue fee to enter is $5. You must have this fee to attend the tournament, even as a spectator.

If you bring a full setup for either Melee or Smash 4, your venue fee will be waived. However, Smash 4 setups without all DLC characters and Dreamland 64 will not be counted for the waiving of the venue fee.

There will be 4 events held: Melee Singles, Melee Doubles, Smash 4 Singles, Smash 4 Doubles. Each singles event will be a $5 entry, and each doubles event will be $10 per team.

You can only enter 3 events out of the 4 listed. This is to prevent the running out of time. So, either 2 Singles and 1 Doubles, or 2 Doubles and 1 Singles at the max.

As per venue tradition, if there are 24+ entrants in a singles event, there will be a $1 pot bonus per entrant in that specific event. So, if 26 people sign up for Smash 4 singles, Galaxy Games will add $26 to the prize pot.

Rules for each game will be in a post below.

Doubles will start around 2 PM, and Singles around 4 PM. The proposed schedule will be as follows:

12:00 PM: Doors open for friendlies
1:00 PM: Signups for Doubles begin
2:00 PM: Doubles for both games begin, Signups for Singles begin
4:00 PM: Singles for both games begin

If you're going to be running late to an event, please post on the event page that you will be late by X minutes, and we will register for you. However, you must tell us at least 5 minutes before the event starts, or we will not register for you.

Payout will be as follows, but can and will change depending on the amount of participants in the events:

1st: 60%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 10%

We will be selling pizza at the venue. It will be $2 per pizza slice, and the profits will go directly to DVHS's Smash Club, as well as our sponsor, e1337 Gaming. Galaxy Games will also be selling various sodas for $1 a can. That way, you don't even have to leave the venue to grab a quick bite.

Please Pre-Register, so we are able to gauge participants and change schedules as needed. It really helps. It's not mandatory, but if you could do it, please do.
