(5:41:05 PM): a calling out to MBR TOS nerds should be sufficient

Im calling out all the MBR ToS nerds. Discuss the game im sure you, like myself, have wasted far too much of your life on. Also this

I saved over my file like 3/4 of the way through my second playthrough and I lost all will to keep playing. Still one of my favorite games, though. Cheesing through boss battles with infinites is fun.

tales of symphonia was the first that i played in the series. It had a good release date, that and baten kaitos were like the only legit rpgs released around that time(which was like in the fall for the holidays). I literally got it because it was an rpg and i wanted to play an rpg.

story I thought wasnt that good and kinda wished there were some more anime cutscenes, but like I still really enjoyed it. pretty long and engaging. lloyd busted lol. I liked regal alot too. battle system is what made that game.

me and my brother played 2 player which i thought was a nice addition(because he'd usually just watch me play rpgs for the story). and yea infiniting the bosses and in jab strings was cool especially vs the ones that I had spent 1.5hrs trying to kill on my own. heard there were many ways to infinite. I just specced that one gem driver thingy for lloyd and kratos/zelos that gave them 6 swings as opposed to 4 and had my brother alternate with me. I actually never finished it but I saw the ending lol. I had to go to college right as i got on the 2nd disk. Once I landed in pittsburgh I really didnt play vidya games so like it never worked out.

wow. Of all the nonsense that goes on in this "higher intellect" forum, you go and make a thread about that ridiculously overrated ToSymphonia?

And yes, the game is stupid overrated. How the f*** do you have a 3-d action rpg ON GAMECUBE that doesn't let you move in 3D? Gameplay is straight TRASH in some ToS.

I've actually played through most of the Tales series (several entries with Remen). While I liked Vesperia, it made me realise how stale the series has gotten and there are many nuisances keeping it from true greatness.

I've never played any Tales games. Which one do you recommend I get to start with?
definitely this one. the others get more complex mechanics that you'll appreciate later i think.

and for the record, i thought vesperia was fantastic.

Well technically you move in a 3d environment. Its just strictly lateral. The plain is still 3 dimensional. I will say that the game is a bit overrated but just a tad. Still a great game with lots of substance.

Really, any one in existance that's not Symphonia 2. (Not because it's a direct sequel, but because it's garbage.

As much as I hate Symphonia, I can't take away that it's still a solid game. My big gripe with it is only sound because of the time the game was released (which was years after the likes of Star Ocean 2 and even further behind Secret of Mana).
If I was Dogy, none of them LOL.
WOAH DAWG.

First time I played it, it was so **** hard since you never knew where you were supposed to go and you were very young back then too lol. And then you had to cast different spells to know the weakness of bosses.. good times. I remember the evil wall killing me the first time I tried it.

Secret of Mana was amazing back in the day, but menu-casting magic is epic failure nowadays.

It's hard to replay. :(

You really think so, Prime? Me and Brookman just sat down and played through it in one sitting sometime last summer.

Im such a boss at Tales of Vesperia. I comboed a 30 hit combo into a mystic art on Zagi, Staggered him with it, went into Over Limit again, comboed him into a burst art that comboed into a Fatal Strike.

Maybe you don't cast magic as much with two people? I'm mostly talking about bosses though, I just remember constant interruptions while I was trying to do the sword thing. And how the heck did you beat it in one sitting? I swear that game took like 20-40 hours to get through.

I think we maxed it way back when.

I think there may have been some periods of sleep/attending to basic physical needs, but we pretty much just marathoned it.

Magic is broken though. No argument there.

holy ****.

I've only played an hour of it, because I don't have an Xbox. (new game+ though). My friend's disk got scratched. We were at a BBQ smashfest 3 weeks ago at Sanuzi's place and raynex wanted to play SSF4 on the PS3, on the tv that we were using, so we let him and he left the 360 on. My friend picked up a couple of hours later, to move onto another tv. So good bye Tales of Vesperia for him.

Man, that weekend was fun. Kage was supposed to come as well, but he wasn't feeling well. Raynex, IB, and I did falco dittos until 5am on one of the days.
