It's been Sat afternoon for a while.

Now that Valhalla caters for days maybe SG can go back to night.
Iunndo.
Bad idea, you know how unpleasant the SG night tourneys were for some who only cared for brawl tournaments. Finals at 12am were terrrible.

That ruleset has a major flaw,

"If a main set match goes to time, a 1 stock, 5 minute tiebreaker match is played on the same stage, with the same characters; both player's ending % are carried over to the tiebreaker match to the nearest 10% using the handicap feature. If this match goes to time, the player with the lowest % at time wins. It is the player's responsibility to keep track of their %'s; if either player cannot or does not give an accurate % at the end of either match, then he/she is automatically awarded a loss."
It does not take into account the stock holdings of the match. If I do not apply the assumption that this applies when each player is on their last stock, then the loophole can be utilised and say a match is timed out with the opponent on the second stock, but at a much higher percent than the other who is on his final stock. See what I'm getting at, thats dangerous my friend.

Well, I only read the OP, be sure to put that into discussion if it hasn't been picked up on yet.

I'd love to go on Friday for some casual matches, and have the tourney on saturday.

Ghostbone (Can't remember) vs. Apollo (Ice Climbers) at the last streetgeek.
I was pushing for a time-out, but it actually ended befor that. For IC, a match against MK on delfino is has a extremely low chance of winning if the mk plays smart, which ghost did.

Also someone brought up a good point, where someone with higher % but stale moves would want to do a rematch to start fresh.

I will mention that.

Both players suffer from Stale Moves.
And their is also:
• the difficulty of memorizing both you and your opponent's stale moves
• working out who is staled worse
• and forcing a time out without changing those conditions.

All for the very negligible reward of having moves refreshed is hardly worth it.

.

It was left out of the OP by mistake. Obviously we would take into consideration stocks. But we technically don't have to.

Want to know why?

If you're ahead by a stock and you run out of time, you are declared the winner.

The clause is only enacted when time runs out and it goes to sudden death, as a means to hold a tiebreaker match.

I'll definitely go friday if anyone else will be there.

Ah yeah, well if thats specified for it being applied when sudden death occurs due to time out. Then that should be fine!

Well Grim...I think it's at least better than our current time-out clause, but I'll discuss it in that thread.
