It didn't look like Brood knew the Falco matchup very well, at least in a way that can combat our metagame. It's a shame he figured Larry out too late, I would've liked a 2nd set fight.

And it's obviously impossible for people to believe that Brood is a superior player to M2K, but why should it be? He's not even from this hemisphere of the planet lol. People will always have "M2K" is the most naturally talented player in the world mentallity but especially after seeing Japan I'm sure that most of japans players are similar and just use different characters.

it worked both ways, brood didn't deal with the match-up very well in terms of our metagame and larry just straight up dominates that matchup.

Yea, I think the Falco mu is the best thing America's Olis have, because our nation's best are apparently better. There may be other MUs like this too, but Brood is too good

He placed better than all of America's Olis. He does things we don't. He eliminated M2K from the tournament. He took second at Apex.

Look, it doesn't make me happy at all to say this because I wish it wasn't true, but he IS better (though America may be better at certain MUs).

And if he's not even the best I'd be afraid to see who the best is because the truth is that he already has most of America beat

TBH, IMO playing for pride is the most important aspect, money is nice and all, but with pride that is deserved comes so much good feelings and perks, the mindset of being able to do anything comes with pride and there is better feeling than knowing you have accomplished something very few people will ever come close to accomplishing, pride should be what motivates players, without it, your just an empty shell of a player looking only for money

If the whole game is about pride, why can't you give Brood the respect he deserves? He came to America in an unfamiliar environment and placed higher than any American Olimar has ever placed. Much as we don't want to admit it, he deserves to say that he's better than all of us (mostly you guys, I don't count ).

I agree w/ Redhalberd. There is always someone "better" than the "best." Japan seems to have a comparable top player scene to the USA, and I wouldn't doubt if some of their players could beat M2K, Ally, DEHF.

Brood is DEFINITELY better than all the USA Olimar players put together there's like no comparison. You shouldn't take this as offense. He's literally like an Olimar player with M2K or Ally's mind. There should be no debate. He literally proved this like 10000 times over and just by watching him you can tell he's smoking that herb that doesnt' even grow over here.

The same can be said for RAIN even he's on some **** US falco's dont know about. Metagame/matchups/brackets deterime a lot but based on how good even Brood is Japan is definitely better than the USA in SSBB...

I've never had so much fun watching an Olimar play. Brood is amazing.

He beat M2K (our best), Ally (arguably our second best), Lee Martin, and a slew of other high/top players. That man deserves major respect. He definitely has mine.

Same goes for Rain. Easily on Larry's level of Falco play. Anyone who denys this fact over a Falco ditto between the two is completely ********.

I'll admit, it's hard for me to acknowledge someone is better than me, but I'm super motivated for MLG Raleigh now. I'm gonna try to do the one thing Brood couldn't

I think that was a culture shock thing; American Olis used to do it but everyone learned to avoid it so Olis stopped and did other things, so people started to counter those other things. Now Brood comes and does it and catches people off guard

brood just has a rly good way of answering problems he comes across, his reads were spot on and we're extremely fast and well calculated. N his mix ups were nice and often deadly at times. Cuz once he got inside u knew someone was taking a free 30% if not 70% from his combo game

Brood is just better at the moment. Seriously...his mindset and game play and ADAPTLY puts him over the US olimars easily at the moment.
