Ooo, I don't know why I never thought of that; GIMP is ok for my image-editing needs, but Photoshop would be cool!

Also, I think this period is the first time in my Smashboards existence that I spent more time talking about the game than other things. My post count may actually mean something after this debacle

I got The Sims 3 once (only did it cuz I was confident my anti-virus software could find the stuff attached [it did])

But then I lost my laptop :(

Oh yea: @Draco in case you didn't assume from my first sentence, you should ALWAYS scan EVERYTHING you get from a torrent, regardless of how small or innocent it looks. What anti-virus program do you have?

Noa.

I have McAfee Virus protection Vocal. And yes Photoshop is a lot better than Gimp. I was taught photo editing in a class that exclusively used Photoshop and Fireworks, and I can not use any other program (unless I want to crop something in Paint).

I've downloaded from limewire before, but that was only music.

Funny thing I was listening to the Jaws theme while reading this thread title lol.

You should get avast! (The exclamation point is in their title btw.) It's free, it's constantly updated, and it's just plain awesome

I really think "best teammate" is more of a personal preference.

Olimar seems like he can be somewhat good in doubles. Kind of high-maintenance if it's a team like double Metaknight, though. Swear to god, there must only be a one-frame window of opportunity when recovering against them. @_@

You should've seen Brood on RC; I think it was against two MKs and HE was the stock tank

I could be wrong about the two MK part, but Brood still lived up to expectations. Now, to see how Japan does in comparison to America in singles ^_^

Dontcha hate when you try to go to sleep but your mind doesn't stop?

normally I'm a depressed mad... luckily beating some good teams, double mk's, and getting 7th out of like 90 teams is enough to make me feel kind accomplished

BTW, thanks for all the support guys, will try to make you proud in singles

Oli is good in doubles if played a certain way

I prefer teaming with a metaknight, I just fit best with that character (then again most characters do haha).

Jem and I got 5th at MLG with MK-Oli, we got mike and havok to their last stock around 110% each before losing.

All the initial reports I've been getting is that Brood is better than any American Oli >.>

Nice job Logic in teams! I heard you and Boss had a crazy set vs Anti and CO18?

I thought you guys were gonna get it too :( Still, you did an amazing job, and you have made the Olimar boards proud; if I knew where I put that golden pikmin I'd give it to you but since I don't I hope this smiley will suffice :)

And lol at the Oli ditto for doubles supremacy

@Rich: yea...he's pretty awesome. I don't wanna say he's better than American Olis but...um...I'm not sure where I'm going with this.

Also, I think part of the difference that most people would notice is that he plays a much more aggresive Olimar, at least he did in doubles. Whether it's better or not has yet to be seen.

Let's just wait for singles tomorrow :p What time, Logic, do they start btw?

So yeah, could I get an answer to why Olimar is good/decent in teams?

I can see him being the more supportive type of doubles partner. I can also see a teammate combing well off his f/dthrow, which is nice since Oli will obviously land lots of grabs.

I think I might start going Olimar in doubles since I usually play that sort of role in doubles normally anyways. I can see myself excelling with somebody like Ook who I already have nice team chemistry with since Ook likes to play the aggressor. Speaking of Ook, you would guys consider DK a decent Olimar partner?

dk can up-smash the person you are holding without hitting you, tip for you and ook

brood is good, he seems faster. uses up b well

we'll see tomorrow how he does, he's not the m2k of oli's like many people have been saying though lol... but he is still very good and his style is different, everyone shall see tomorrow

night all

edit: on the apex schedule it says tomorrow is first two round of pools then two roundabout of bracket, so idk

One thing I noticed, and is the reason everyone keeps calling him faster, is that he stands still. A lot. A common trait for pretty much any other Oli I've seen (American, Canadian, Spanish, whatever) is to try to move as much as possible, but Brood tends to remain stationary. Then, when he finally dashes in for an attack, it is far less expected and seems faster as a result. Could be a strategy worth looking into imo, though this may just be a culture shock thing where American players simply aren't used to an Olimar playing this way.

^good observation

I tend to feel like I should constantly be moving, and sometimes I forge that my best option is just to stay relatively stationary.

I once teamed with Bigfoot in doubles, it was a little over a year ago. Nothing personal to Bigfoot, but that was one of the worst experiences ever lol

That being said, it might work with a good DK. You just gotta make sure clear roles are assigned. I personally like to camp in teams and so I need an MK who's really good at being aggressive while also giving me space to camp behind him as well.

You can be sure that I am paying close attention to how Brood plays ;) I rarely get the chance to see him, so I'm pretty much glued to everything he does. I also noticed he uses grounded tether, but I decided to wait and see if this is just a doubles habit of his or a regular staple of gameplay. Plus no one likes grounded tether but me anyways ^_^

That DEFINITELY doesn't happen with me  My Olimar is pretty much always auto pilot until I've played for about 5 minutes

There is a stream, but sadly it looks like it's gonna be mostly composed of SSFIV :/

Still, good luck Turaz, and do well - represent the brotherhood man

You're right, he does do odd ****, which has me questioning whether or not he's actually as good as he seems to be or if it's just culture shock between playstyles.

And HOLY HELL THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY FROM MATCHES! You better do well today!

That is a really sick vedio, I wonder if he has more :o

He does, I'll post more later ^_^ And nice end-of-post ;)

I just noticed I really suck against ROB.

Good luck olis!
I just noticed you don't know how to SDI. Oh wait, that was when I read your thread a couple days ago about how you didn't even know it existed ;)

Also, for anyone interested, Apex is still just in pools right now, though I did get to see Rust solidly beat some ROB

I most certainly am not screwing with you ;) Here's the OP:
I'm new to Di'ing and just found out about it a few days ago. Is it possible to DI using the wiimote and nunchuck? Ive heard that u have to tilt the c-stick a certain way. The problem is Wii mote and nunchucks have no c-stick so is there someway to smash DI with Wiimote and nunchuck?
In Apex related news, Rain's Falco is pretty good. Not as good as Brood's Olimar imo, but then again the characters are played in completely different ways so I may just be bias
