Well they are going to lose regardless. You know, voting off and all that.If you add DHD then they win dammit!.
All they want is acknowledgement. It's like when Ralph Nader almost won the Maryland primary; dude just wanted to be seen because he was a bit of a troll to his opposition.Well they are going to lose regardless. You know, voting off and all that.
I think with Samurai Goroh, to people who know about F-Zero/Smash Spec stuff, Goroh is a long awaited addition. To casual players, he's that guy from Captain Falcon's game who's also an AT. For people who may not even know about F-Zero, simply because he is related to Falcon (The only F-Zero rep), they might just add him to their vote. I'm sure to even casuals, adding another F-Zero character seems like a smart move.Hmmm, let's see. Let me post the green guys again.
Goroh defiantly. He's been the runner up for the series since Melee. He did also appear as an assist trophy, so I think Sakurai thinks highly of him. I think Goroh's issue was just there were better choices at the time. I don't that is an issue now.
To most SSB fans: K. Rool > DixieDixie is pretty strong too. The only real issue with her is that K. Rool is a stronger contender and the question comes down to having 4 Dk characters. I don't think it's a huge issue.
I was a wee lad when I was playing around on Nsider during 2006/2007.I'm iffy on Ghirahim. He seems to be holding out really well and he had a larger roll (was also a boss 3 times). The issue is the fact he'll never appear again and Sakurai seems to try and avoid that. Midna didn't get in Brawl so we'll see if that was a fluke or not. Not as confident on him.
You don't think Zoroark is as prominent/popular as Lucario? If anything, I think he's MORE prominent than Lucario. He's got his movie, plus his event and the fact that N has one. I mean, I don't want to sound like a newbie, but Lucario being added really does seem like it had to do with him being... relevent.Nothing special in the rest. Surprised Zoroark is so high. He could happen, but it's hard to say. Lucario worked because he was a popular pick but we haven't seen another Pokemon like that. So I'm not as confident on him.
Can't deny. It seems like Sakurai likes him though. He's one of the fe AT's that seems the most like a playable character. (Starfy, Lyn, Waluigi, Little Mac, and Goroh are some of the others)Saki is unlikely since there are far stronger series.
What do you think about Awakening's splash, and global release? Doesn't that say anything for him? I never see much going for Junior other than: Easy clone, has a bigger "role" than Wal/Toad/Doc. But thats it.Bower Junior will likely be beat for Toad or Waluigi (or Dr. Mario. never know).Krom isn't very likely as he doesn't stand out enough and Roy will take the spotlight.
Not sure why people think Pac-Man is likely. I know Namco is making the game, but Sakurai has full control. Brawl showed us he set the bar pretty high and Megaman is even questionable at this point.
Gonna say no there. Toad is iffy because I don't think Sakurai thinks highly of him. I'm gonna say probably not, but you never know. He's a good enough character to be there.
I see Krystal's saving graces as her being a StarFox character, her being the most popular SF character that isn't in Smash already, and her popularity prior to Brawl's release.Krystal is a likely not. Starfox has a lot of characters and there are a some stronger characters in her way.
Never saw you as a Geno fan. It's a maybe. No to Geno though I'd like to see him.
Quite a lot of things to be honest.Lucario Pre-Brawl vs. Zoroark, what's different, really?
XD. Lol.Hahahaha, I was reading some Japanese Earthworm Jim fanboy claiming that he is popularly requested outside Japan, and the other Japanese Smash Bros. fans tore him apart and said they see nothing like that. Its funny how some Japanese fans talk about foreign popularity just like some here talk about Japanese popularity.
The only other thing I have seen mentioned in regards to popularity is that Sonic is very popular outside Japan.XD. Lol.
Aside from Ridley, Little Mac and this event, are there any other characters with foreign popularity that are often talked about?
I think you brought up a good point. Goroh is one of those characters people know despite never really playing F-Zero. It another reason I see him as a sure thing.I think with Samurai Goroh, to people who know about F-Zero/Smash Spec stuff, Goroh is a long awaited addition. To casual players, he's that guy from Captain Falcon's game who's also an AT. For people who may not even know about F-Zero, simply because he is related to Falcon (The only F-Zero rep), they might just add him to their vote. I'm sure to even casuals, adding another F-Zero character seems like a smart move.
Yeah, it took him three games to add Dedede. One Dixie, probably. I figure what happened is that they planned to have them be together with unique special moves but couldn't make it work, so they separated them. Even if Dixie was cut afterwards, I figure she had some moves of her own. Diddy's side B is leftover from that concept. It may also be why the CPU never uses Down B.To most SSB fans: K. Rool > Dixie
BUT, Sakurai DID choose Dixie before him (Even if she was with Diddy)
What do you think about the whole Forbidden seven Dixie thing? Really, it seems like Sakurai likes to add characters who didn't make it into previous titles.
I think Ghirahim is more popular now. The problem with Zelda was there was never a clear choice. Back then, you had Midna, Vatti and Skull Kid popping up. There was always a different character. Ghirahim is at least consolidated. Again, it's hard to say if he'd get in seeing as Sakurai has turned down many other characters from Zelda. For me, his chances are on the fence.I was a wee lad when I was playing around on Nsider during 2006/2007.
Ghirahim now VS Midna then
Who's more popular/longer lasting?
The reason a lot of people say Zoroark is that he is more expected than wanted (though your poll may show otherwise). He was a very popular Pokemon. Zoroark was Nintendo trying to make another Lucario (they were even rivals). Zoroark has a shot because Pokemon always has a shot. So, again, it's hard to say. Betting on Pokemon isn't a bad bet though. You don't think Zoroark is as prominent/popular as Lucario? If anything, I think he's MORE prominent than Lucario. He's got his movie, plus his event and the fact that N has one. I mean, I don't want to sound like a newbie, but Lucario being added really does seem like it had to do with him being... relevent.
Lucario Pre-Brawl vs. Zoroark, what's different, really?
Yeah, I can agree. Can't deny. It seems like Sakurai likes him though. He's one of the fe AT's that seems the most like a playable character. (Starfy, Lyn, Waluigi, Little Mac, and Goroh are some of the others)
Nothing much on Chrom. As Chrono has pointed out, Ike's game was one of the worst selling games in the series. I don't think sales will be enough for him. It's interesting that none of the old characters got a popularity boast. Leaf would be a really fun character for Smash. What do you think about Awakening's splash, and global release? Doesn't that say anything for him? I never see much going for Junior other than: Easy clone, has a bigger "role" than Wal/Toad/Doc. But thats it.
Krystal is interesting. She was really popular during the Brawl days but she has since crashed and burned. I wouldn't be surprised if the voice actor leak during Brawl propped her demand up a lot.I see Krystal's saving graces as her being a StarFox character, her being the most popular SF character that isn't in Smash already, and her popularity prior to Brawl's release.
Never been vocal about it.Never saw you as a Geno fan.
Mii could happen. Wouldn't be a surprise. The hard part is how will they work and does Sakurai see them as a character. You have to make all the characters mesh together which may be hard if you have Darth Vader. So Mii may have to have a set look. There is also an issue of will it work in Smash. We'll see, though if Mii is in, I wouldn't be surprised. Also, what do you think of Mii's and Mona?
It was Super Smash Bros. that made Goroh slightly above the rest in terms of recognizable faces.I think you brought up a good point. Goroh is one of those characters people know despite never really playing F-Zero. It another reason I see him as a sure thing.
It makes sense in context why Ghirahim is slightly above the rest, because of his actions pretty much setting up the events of future titles with the whole "Demise's reincarnations (aka Ganon) haunting the decedents of Link and Zelda" thing. But again, that is not exactly enough.I think Ghirahim is more popular now. The main thing that keeping Zoroark afloat is mainly because he was the first Pokemon revealed for Gen V, as such he fills in the "mascot" niche in a sense more then the other Pokemon. Even after that promotional period ended, Zoroark was still not treated like a typical Pokemon. For example, in Pokemon Black 2/White 2 you meet two Zoroark NPC's and you can raise a Zoroark of your own from N's Zorua. Also not vocal, but the Lucario and Zoroark rivalry thing might also be a minor contribution.
Technically speaking, people that support Roy do feel more confident. There is much praise to his new design in particular. To a lesser extent there is stuff like Lyn that gets some attention too.Nothing much on Chrom. As Chrono has pointed out, Ike's game was one of the worst selling games in the series. I don't think sales will be enough for him. It's interesting that none of the old characters got a popularity boast. Leaf would be a really fun character for Smash.
It was mainly the voice actor and Fox's "dark" palette that rattled up the Krystal supporters. Why the Krystal support was so vocal to begin with was because of spite towards clones, and they thought Krystal would be an original character with the staff.Krystal is interesting. She was really popular during the Brawl days but she has since crashed and burned. I wouldn't be surprised if the voice actor leak during Brawl propped her demand up a lot.
Talking about smaller stuff is a challenge, but that's the charm of it. You get to explore some hidden gems and how it could feasibly work. It does feel like a nice change of pace from the norm. Solving the mystery can be quite handy. As an aside, I'm open to most characters (most of the good choices). I also tend to talk about characters who aren't as likely because they are more interesting. Dillon being one example. It gets boring talking about Little Mac, K. Rool or Shulk because they're probably getting it. It becomes a waiting game. The other characters have some mystery to them. Not as much into third party characters, but I wouldn't mind Megaman.
A lot of the WarioWare characters are very quirky, but each one has something that would be interesting in Super Smash Bros. Like you said, like Darkstalkers the series is filled with a lot of distinctive characters. Going by Mona alone, she is a character with a very notable emphasis on randomness with inconsistent jobs and getting attacked by stuff ranging from police to jealous rock bands.Mona, I don't think so. The Warioware characters don't have enough pull. They'd be here more to expand that series instead of because people being a fan of them. Warioware is interesting. I consider it like Nintendo's darkstalkers. It's got a lot of weird characters that would liven up the fighting game. it also has a lot of female characters.
I can kind of see this analogy, but Wario Ware and Darkstalkers have completely different tones (there's also no kung fu werewolf). While Wario Ware does have a lot of weird characters, the differences between them, appearance wise, is nothing compared to Darkstalkers with the succubus, vampire, cat girl, werewolf, homicidal Red Riding Hood, Sasquatch, a bee, etc.Mona, I don't think so. The Warioware characters don't have enough pull. They'd be here more to expand that series instead of because people being a fan of them. Warioware is interesting. I consider it like Nintendo's darkstalkers. It's got a lot of weird characters that would liven up the fighting game. it also has a lot of female characters.
A so bad it's good sitcom. There, we got the best of both worlds.
Now a Super Smash Bros. sitcom would be very interesting.
To be fair, that was Wagluigi. (bad pun on "wag", something dogs do with their tails). He also eats puppies, as shown in the second strip of Waluigi Triloigi from BitF.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...
I mean, eating babies and puppies is quite cruel, it's no wonder why no one likes him.
