Yeah, I figure Ghirahim will be the next Midna. His fanbase will last for a while.

Goroh defiantly. He's been the runner up for the series since Melee. He did also appear as an assist trophy, so I think Sakurai thinks highly of him. I think Goroh's issue was just there were better choices at the time. I don't that is an issue now.
Dixie is pretty strong too. The only real issue with her is that K. Rool is a stronger contender and the question comes down to having 4 Dk characters. I don't think it's a huge issue.
Waluigi stands a good chance. He was an assist trophy and, like Goroh, Sakurai I think finds him interesting enough (mostly from that fact that he got to be an AT out of the whole rest of the Mario characters. Goes for something). Also, I think he's far more popular now than he was during Brawl.
I'm iffy on Ghirahim. He seems to be holding out really well and he had a larger roll (was also a boss 3 times). The issue is the fact he'll never appear again and Sakurai seems to try and avoid that. Midna didn't get in Brawl so we'll see if that was a fluke or not. Not as confident on him.
Nothing special in the rest. Surprised Zoroark is so high. He could happen, but it's hard to say. Lucario worked because he was a popular pick but we haven't seen another Pokemon like that. So I'm not as confident on him. Saki is unlikely since there are far stronger series. Bower Junior will likely be beat for Toad or Waluigi (or Dr. Mario. never know). Krom isn't very likely as he doesn't stand out enough and Roy will take the spotlight. Not sure why people think Pac-Man is likely. I know Namco is making the game, but Sakurai has full control. Brawl showed us he set the bar pretty high and Megaman is even questionable at this point. Gonna say no there. Toad is iffy because I don't think Sakurai thinks highly of him. I'm gonna say probably not, but you never know. He's a good enough character to be there. Krystal is a likely not. Starfox has a lot of characters and there are a some stronger characters in her way. It's a maybe. No to Geno though I'd like to see him.

The most likely from that category are Goroh, Dixie and Waluigi. I figure Dixie and Goroh will be playable. Waluigi stands a good shot too, but his chances are a little shakier. Ghirahim gets a special mention, though it comes down to his status in Sakurai's eyes. If Sakurai has no issue with one shot characters, then I'd say he stands a good shot. The rest are iffy for me. I consider them doubtful.

As the announcement has drawn closer, I've become more wishy washy. The hard part is that you never really know who will get in until they do. I thought Krystal and Ridley were a sure thing back in 2007. So I don't want to rule anyone out. Given, there are a few characters I think will defiantly make it in. The rest I take a wait and see approach. The other issue is how much can we really learn from Brawl. I'm not sure all the same rules will apply this time. Brawl was unique in who got added because the inclusion was more open, but Brawl also had better choices of characters. SSB4 has a smaller pool to pick from. This time, it may be even more open than Brawl which is why I look more at characters like Ghirahim (who couldn't make it in a Brawl like era). Given, we should look at past games to get an idea, but it's not set in stone. So, for the most part, I say wait an see. There are a lot of characters I can say I'm on the fence about.

Alright guys, sorry I didn't add everyone you wanted >: BUT, I added one of each. Again, sorry. The roster is MASSIVE, but that's good. We're gonna go ahead and start with the Mario/Wario/Yoshi/DK franchises first. Who do you think we should kill off, and who should we keep? I'll update the roster in an hour or so after we've voted and discussed any possible disagreements (Which there shouldnt be much yet)

Given Roy's popularity, I wonder why Fuuin no Tsurugi was never localized for the West.

I Just hope if they do remake FE6 (Haven't Played it yet) they don't hand out clutch weapons so easily like they do in Awkening.

You could just.. you know, download the ROM and the translation patch and emulate it. I mean, I played that game back in 2005/2006 on a GBA emulator, it's not hard to find, and it's a game that Nintendo will never localize and is unlikely to get remade. It's not like they're gonna come to your house and beat you with a stick for emulating a GBA game. Unless of course you feel like taking up moonspeak and paying a bunch of money to import it. I mean it would open a lot of doors for you for future Japanese only games, but take it from me, 2 years studying and I still got ways to go...

A character that they could easily implement and make him unique as a sword user could be Shulk for Xenoblade chronicles. Not only would it hype up for his appearance in smash setting but it could also beef up the already hyped trailer from Monolith Softs new "X'' game for the Wii U. But then again I could see Chrom being added as a representation for FE:Awakening and also not to mention the new Crossover game Shin megami Tensai X Fire Emblem.

This is what I see happening as well, I haven't played Xenoblade, but for some reason I get a bit of a Roy vibe from Shulk's potential fighting style.

Anyone wanna make a group roster? I figure, we can start with a big ol' roster, and widdle them down with a voting system until we've hit the amount of characters we think is good? If anyone's interested (or bored enough) tell me yo.

Speaking of a FE6 remake, I was on a Japanese FE forum recently, and I saw a topic talking about a possible FE6 remake. One of the biggest ideas floating around in it was to pair it with a FE7 remake and include a marriage system. It was interesting because they had the same ideas for a potential FE6 remake (other ideas included having Roy promote much earlier, and including FE7 characters into the FE6 remake) as their Western counterparts did.
