Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Ultimate Explosive Brawl Tournament!

After fooling around with Super Smash Bros. Brawl one day, I thought about using explosive items in Metroid’s “Norfair” stage, using Mario (me) and Luigi (CPU-9) in their fire costumes. Of course, like having four Ice Climbers (CPU-9) in stamina mode, these are the actual concepts behind my special tournament.

While this DOES mark my first online tournament, I would recommend assistance on getting this competition together and going, unless you’re busy with another tournament. If you have any suggestions and/or problems, please do not hesitate when commenting and/or PMing.

Try to survive this extreme competition of doom...if you can.

UPDATE – April 2, 2009: The primary list is now filled and the deadline is reached! Rounds start Saturdays around 7:00 PM (USA Central).

FORMAT

• Singles Elimination
• 16 Man

RULES

• Three Stocks
• No Time Limit
• Low Items Enabled (Blast Box, Bob-omb, Cracker Launcher, Gooey Bomb, Smart Bomb, and Motion-Sensor Bomb only)
• Two out of three wins to advance.
• Any Brawl character is permitted. They do not need to be the same.
• No pissing, no moaning, no johns.
• Stalling, quitting, and restarting the match will result in disqualification from the tournament.
• Chain-grabs, spamming, and suicide finishers are allowed. If a sudden death is declared in-game, the one who successfully pulled the suicide finisher is the victor.
• If severe lagging occurs, the match is decided by a coin toss. Also, please refer to the thread about preventing lag here before you play SSBB online: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=155378
• After both players choose a starting stage, the loser picks the next stage.
• In the words of Ike, prepare yourself.

By the way, I wasn't sure where to ask this question, but here it is anyway: Since I don't really want to self-destruct myself during battles, but is it still possible to send the replays through, once you have their Wii and Brawl codes?

Yeah, you need both their Wii and Brawl codes to send the replay to you.
Are you uploading the matches? Some might last longer than 3 minutes, though. Especially on Shadow Moses.

To YouTube, yep! However, by me having the ordinary three minute limit in Brawl, would the sent replays interfere with the system or desync if I don't have the proper tools for making it longer?

Actually, I have a Magnavox DVD Recorder along with USB video capturing tools. However, I rather use the DVD recording device (as it works so well), so I won't deal with those dreaded blue screens on this computer. I also have SD too. =)

Although I do have the DMZ option in my D-Link wired router, I recently brought myself into AT&T's DSL due to COX Cable's rising cost, so I haven't really tried Brawl with this internet connection quite yet.

You might want to test it beforehand to make sure it works. You could always record a few replays of my Ness and Mario to see if it works before this tourney begins.
