OK so I never played Zero Mission, but while watching some Ridley videos today I realized the Unknown Item tune (the tune at the end of Ridley's Victory theme) plays right before his boss battle when you get the item before fighting him. A really weird and kinda random tie in, but at least I understand the origin now.
