I want to find match ups with Ridley at a disadvantage. I have really been wondering what characters would have an advantage agents Ridley.

He's weak to Pikachu, Pichu, Young Link, Palutena, and Ness. There's more but Ridley is kind of a meh fighter in general.

With Pichu's nerfs and Ridley's buffs, am not sure I would put Pichu as one of his worst matchups anymore, but haven't played one in awhile, so can't say for sure. Ness isn't that bad though once you properly learn how to DI out of PK fire. Robin is worse in that regard since the same can't really be said for getting out of his/her Arcfire.

Other than that, Inkling, and the most notorious zoners like Mega Man and (of course) Samus. Not unwinnable, but annoyingly tough.

A lot of others I can think of aren't that hard to overcome in comparison once you know the matchup. Even Hero you have a fair chance to skewer when they use their down B.

Basically characters who are fast, have better air game and combo game. Smaller characters can also be a problem as it can be difficult at times to land aerials on them but with the new up-tilt into full hop up-air (Thanks to his buff to the sweet spot) he can kill smaller, lighter characters a lot more consistently and safely (As opposed to trying to space a back air on tinier foes).

As stated, projectile users can be a rough fight but your multi jumps should (Typically) allow you to traverse around them to close distance (And platforms to refresh jumps). They'll still be trouble since you can out zone (His own projectile is pretty bad and only usable in certain situations) but proper baiting is key to his game plan because once he's in on them it's Pain Town for them.

Definitely this. Small, fast characters that can get in your face, get to your shield, and keep hitting you are really a pain for Ridley. He has mediocre out of shield options and relies on keeping his distance and using his long-range, disjointed attacks to keep other players out of his space. Any character that can violate that is a problem for Ridley.

Conversely, characters that are proficient at zoning are also often a trouble for him. Due to Ridley's large hitbox and mediocre airspeed, he has trouble closing the gap against zoners. Projectiles hit him very easily, as his tail, wings, and feet often get clipped by projectiles. He also has a hard time jumping over and through projectiles to find a way in, both due to his size and due to his slow airspeed. Some zoners he can counter-zone with plasma breath, but usually it just ends up being a frustrating experience when you're presented with zoners.

On the other end though, he excels at killing characters with poor off-stage game, characters that he can match our outdo in frame data or speed, or characters that he can effectively zone out with plasma.
