ClarkJables, why did you gravedig this AWFUL thread. This stupid rat isn't getting in. :|
Rick actually has a good chance if Brawl is indeed Sakurai's last Smash title. Sakurai might get overzealous and add extra Kirby characters.
If they want to put more Kirby characters than Dedede and Metaknight, then Rick is at the top of that list (tied with Gooey, though Rick is more functional).

But why would they want to put more characters in after Metaknight and Dedede? If Rick is going to be in, Dedede has to get in first, and then if Rick is added, there would be 4 Kirby characters. Do you really think Sakurai is going to give Kirby as many characters as Zelda and Pokemon? Do you think Kirby would get 4 characters when DK and Metroid, series that have sold much more, will most likely get 3?

his chances are low but i would still like to see him in. and look at it this way, right now in the kirby series you have 1 hero and 1 villian, and they are most likely adding dedede, so that puts the balance at 1-2. so in a way rick balances that out, plus hesa hamster and hamsters pwn all domesticated animals

I completely forgot about Rick the Hampster! Forget Snake,Sonic,Megaman,Diddy, and all those characters,Rick is the coolest character ever! Mark my words,if he ever was in brawl (he won't be unfortunately as a PC anyway) I would main him.

What's a hampster? Is it anything like the pet, a hamster? Or is it like where you put clothes, like a hamper?

As fantastic as that would be, right now I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that we can see all the animal helpers as AT's.

I LOVE Rick the Hamster!

The reason I played my first Kirby game (Kirby's Dreamland II) was because of him!

I don't really see him being a character, though. Honestly, I really like him. I just can't see it happening.

It's okay, it's pretty understandable. I'm hoping at least for him to be an Assist Trophy.

Rick the Hamster, along with Chain Chomp, are the definitions of Assist Trophies IMO

dude, rick the hamster did so much more then chain chomp, he was the player two in some of the old school kirby games, not a generic enemy. thats like saying luigi is the definition of an at

my post wasn't meant to compare chain chomp and rick the hamster, but IMO, both make perfect assist trophies.

rick the hamster stands a better chance as an AT, because metaknight and probably king dedede will be playable, and i think that they have become priority over rick the hamster.

of course the are priority. but if they make it in that leaves 1 kirby hero to 2 kirby villians, now add rick and it balances out. plus sakurai said how this is his last game he was going to add more to his series, i don't see why not he wouldn't add rick, considering rick is in the new kirby game

bump btw

Thanks for the bump.

I don't really get worried when some of my support topics get forgotten, because they're going to be revived randomly in some way or form, somehow.

"little hamster, big adventure HAMTARO!"

ugh, I don't usually do this but.. Rick is kinda lame.

Sakurai don't make the same mistake twice!

but in the odd chance Rick makes an appearance he will be AT, Trophy, and Sticker. (All 3)

He's a popular character in the Kirby series, and I, for one, would love to see him in Brawl (next to King Dedede, that is). After all, you can't have too many Kirby characters!

..Well, actually, you can't, but the guy behind SSB also created Kirby, so it goes together, right?

Rick rocks! Who's with me?

Actually I think the Kirby series has more than enough Kirby characters. 3 is good enough. How bout giving a slot to DK,Metroid, etc.

Plus Rick could never be more than a AT maybe.

I know DK was big way back when, but Kirby is definitely bigger than DK now. And Metroid? Kirby's always been much, much bigger.

For another Kirby rep (which we don't really need), I'd have to say Rick doesn't top the list. Daroach, while not as classic, would certainly be more interesting (imo).

Then again, I guess any other Kirby character would be cool and unexpected...

Don't get me wrong I always liked Kirby and I still play the GBA and DS games of Kirby. But I wouldn't say Kirby has always been bigger than DK and Metriod. Espeaically Metriod. I mean if Kirby was so much bigger than Metriod than why is Kirby only on handheld games and Metriod on heldheld and has 3 really big console games. (Metriod Prime Series)
Plus as a game I can pretty much gurantee that if you looked at all the Metriod reviews vs. all Kirby reviews in magazines etc. that the Metriod series will have scored way better than Kirby making it a more better and more popular series today. Maybe back then it was different. But today Metriod is in Nintendo's big 3 right along with the other 2 most popualr series today which are also the Zelda series and of course the Mario Series

HAHA you know what's funny I was going to add that in my comment but I didn't think no1 would bring up Pok'e Mon but guess I was wrong. But yes f***ing Pok'e Mon has sold more than Metriod and it may be more popular than Metriod(happy?) Do I think it's better than Metriod? Hell no. But my comment was only meant to be about only Metriod and Kirby.(That's it.)

*ahem*

Kirby: Canvas Curse - >700,000
Kirby: Squeak Squad - > 1.3 million
Kirby Air Ride - >1.5 million
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror - >1.7 million
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land - >1.8 million

7 million.

That's a total of >7 million in two generations. Metroid?

Metroid Prime - >2 million
Metroid Fusion - >1.5 million
Metroid Prime: Echoes - >1 million
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - >500,000
Metroid: Zero Mission - >700,000
Metroid Prime: Hunters - >700,000
Metroid Prime Pinball - >150,000

6.55 million.

It took Kirby only five games to sell that many copies, and it took Metroid seven to sell less than that.

Every single platform game ever made in the Kirby series has sold more than 1 million copies. Several of the spin-offs, such as Pinball Land and Block Ball, have sold 1 million as well.

The Kirby series five years ago had broken 20 million copies. So at this rate, it's almost at 30 million.

Metroid, however, has not broken 20 million to date.

And am I to understand that there's something wrong with being primarily on handhelds? The fact that the DS is the fastest selling video game console in the history of ever shows that being only on consoles would be worse for Kirby.

Well $hit I gotta say I'm impressed with your research and I'm suprised to see that Kirby outsold such a juggernaut series like Mertiod. I thought Metriod would of won that but okay well I guess I'm wrong about that. Thanks for that  But I'll get back to the main topic of this unessary character suggestion thread and say Kirby doesn't deserve another rep and franchises like Metriod and DK do deserve another slot.

Yay! Kirby outsold Metroid!
(I like Metroid though and I'm all for he-who-must-not-be-named from the Metroid series in Brawl but back on topic!)

I think it's very unlikely to see Rick the Hamster appear, although I do agree I'd love to see him playable.
My gut feeling tells me he'll be an Assist Trophy...

If he were to make it, he'd so be one of my mains though.

I'll return to this thread later with an actual *gasp* moveset for Rick. (Somebody has to do it...)
