Thanks to Barack Obama, children these days are lost and adrift, lacking any sense of what Christmas is or what schools are for: praying and celebrating Christmas.
I went and got a glass of water, just so I could do the spit-take

Whoa relax.

I'm not saying that the entire country voted for Obama because he's black, or that everyone in America will not vote against someone if they're against Christmas or support gays in the military. I'm not that stupid.
I never said that you said any of those things. I was merely questioning the condescending tone of your post, as you seemed to indicate that frivolous voting was a uniquely American issue. Again, I'm going by what is in your post there.

However, if this is the message of the advertisement, then there must be a market for that message. The fact that there is a body of people who actually will not vote for someone for those reasons reflects poorly on a country.
Yeah, I said the exact same thing in the post you're replying to. My problem is your continued emphasis on "not voting" for someone in this case. By explicitly excluding the people WOULD vote for someone is just suspect to me. It's suspicious wording that serves more to troll bait than to accurately emphasize what you claim your original point was.

And why do you assume I consider Australia intellectualy superior? I don't. We're one of the most politically ignorant countries there is.
I never said that. I'm merely saying that you're the pot calling the kettle black.

I'm just going by what's in your post, dooder. I don't think about or care how you are as a person. I only know of you as a poster, and that is the basis by which I judge your character. Believe it or not, the way people frame and word arguments and statements is important. As this seems to be have been an error on your part in your original post, and as such I failed to interpret something that you didn't originally write, I concede.

Regardless, that doesn't change the fact that people voted for him because he was black.

Voters in every electoral process ever vote for negligible reasons. The vast majority of citizens blindly vote for their chosen party regardless of the individual politician's policies. If not that, then other intangible factors go into the decision such as the politician's eloquence, demeanor, etc etc. This is not a "lol stupid Americans" thing. This is a "we really need to do something about voter education and electoral processes in ALL OF THE FIRST WORLD." Pointing fingers at one country because it's en vogue to hate on said country is just useless, and annoying, and trollbaiting.

Indeed. Over here we don't vote for a specific person to be PM, we vote for a party and whoever the leader is of that party is made PM, but saying people vote logically is ridiculous.

Voting cause he's black? Doesn't seem that bad compared to some things.

I'm not saying it's specific to one country....

I hate most quotes, but one of my favourites is "you only need to talk to the average citizen for five minutes to realise why democracy is a bad idea".

I agree about the need for education. That's why I just do an informal vote, because I know I'm not educated enough to be voting.

Well, you specifically said "your country (i.e. America)" and failed to mention the rest of the developed world. So yeah, you kind of were saying that.

The rest of the world didn't vote for a president because he's black, or against him for supporting gays in the military and being against Christmas....

Citation seriously ****ing needed. Every country has uneducated voters. And I'm pretty sure a source was just quoted that established that as a whole, US voted more AGAINST Obama because he was black. Not that that makes it better, but it does justify me putting you on ignore.

Nah, I'm just in a foul mood. Also your favorite quote is vomit-in-my-mouth pretentious. I'm sick of everybody thinking everybody else is stupid. Read plz: http://www.prettyfedup.com/pfu/philosophical/whyarepeoplesostupid2.htm

Look it even says philosophical in the url, so I'm guessing you can fap yourself to sleep tonight without much help. You're welcome :)

Numbers if you read my previous posts you would know I said I don't consider my country superior.

You would also know that I never said that the majority voted because he's black. Just that the fact that even happened at all is poor.

I heard there was a little indecisiveness on whether or not to vote for the first female president or the first black president :o
