Ok, as much as I would prefer Mewtwo to Lucario, reallistically his odds are superior/on-par. The only reason I have a personal preference for him is for the more recent Pokemon fans.

Screw the recent Pokemon fans. Where were they when Sakurai asked for character suggestions? The only one Sakurai even took note of was Gardevoir. Mewtwo was the most wanted Pokemon for Melee and he was even supposed to be in the original. Not only that, but he has a "villain" role. Kicking out Pokemon's villain for an overrated Pokemon? Hell no.

Lucario is only popular because of his movie. Realistically, he is not important to the series, not even as an icon.
Mewtwo is not less popular to Lucario.

So if Lucario is only getting in for popularity...why can't we swap him for Jiggs?
That was the only reason Jiggs was in these games anyway...

these pokemon are so hard to see who is important or not, I always thought Meowth should have been playable due to his iconic and popularity level but there he went.
