What characters will be in Brawl...well, here are my assumptions:
Mario Series:
Mario
Bowser
Peach
Luigi
Bowser Jr.
Reasoning: Is there any doubt about Luigi coming back? I think not! Luigi will obviously return with his Poltergust, and possibly some Mr.L attacks revolving around Lightnig. Now, about Bowser Jr. Some claim that he would result in being a Bowser clone. Well, these are just several moves I have thought for him just now.
B^ Rocket Nozzle
B>Turbo Nozzle
B Goop Drawing (Draw those bubble enemies that jump towards foes to attack opposition)
Bv Goop swipe (Paints the ground and makes it slippery)
FS Mecha Bowser Missiles
Zelda Series:
Link
Zelda/Sheik
Ganondorf (Ganon FS)
Y.Link (Cel motif)
Reasoning: Sheik has high odds of coming back as she made Zelda unique in Melee, and she has been leaked (to an extent, it isn't positive). Ganondorf is definitely coming back as he is just as important to the Zelda series as Zelda herself (not quite as important as Link). If Ganon came back, he would have a TP motif with a beast form for his FS.
Why Y.Link? Because he represents the most recent model of Link in the Zelda franchise. He was the protagonist of most Zelda games. His moves could be derived from WW and PH. Here is my moveset for him.
^B Deku Leaf
>B Wind Waker (gust of wind)
vB Safety Zone (creates safety zone where invincible to projectiles)
B Fire Sword Beam (Maybe another move could be place here?)
FS Phantoms (Draw paths for three phantoms that appear to attack foes)
Pokemon Series:
Pikachu
Pokemon Traier:
Squirtle
Ivysaur
Charizard
Mewtwo
Jigglypuff
Lucario
Reasoning: That does seem like a long list. Well, I guess it took them less time to program vBs for PT's Pokemon, and they share one FS...Lucario will likely make it. He can utilize techniques such as Aura Sphere, Iron Tail, Bone Rush, and many more moves.
Star Fox Series:
Fox
Krystal
Falco
Reasoning: Alright, so I added Krystal. Her moves could revolve around Fox's staff abilities from SFA. She ha a lot of potential as a playable character. Falco is important to the Star Fox Series so he can have a new moveset invented for him using large weapons present in Assault.
DK Series:
Dk
Diddy
K.Rool
Reasoning: I know net to nothing about K.Rool, so I won't really comment about him aside from saying that he is the villain from the DK seris so...
Yoshi Series:
Yoshi (Kamek, ya right!)
Wario Series:
Wario
Fire Emblem Series:
Ike
Michaih
Marth
Reasoning: Marth might come back due to his upcoming appearance in Fire Emblem DS. Michaih adds more females, and she is unique with her light attacks and all. Here is my Michaih moveset.
^B Bird of Light (Michaih's bird glows, spins around her, and raises her higher)
>B Light Wave
B Light Burst (Charge for a burst of light in front of you)
vB Sacrafice (Hold to damge yourself. Release to send shockwaves across the stage)
FS Flash (reverses foe's controls, slowly damges them, attacks have triple power for limited time)
Kirby Series:

Meta Knight
King Dedede
(what, a Waddle Dee?)
Metroid Series:
Samus
ZS Samus
Ridley
Reasoning: Main villain here. He was resized in the Melee intro, blah, blah, blah. He's gonna make it in. Don't say there's a shortage for Metroid bosses. Think Kraid, Mother Brain, Metroid Prime or another generic foe...
MOTHER Series:
Lucas/Ness
Reasoning: Ness is back...with blonde hair! Look, Ness is out, but Lucas is not that different. Besides, Lucas' personality is much more developed than Ness'.
