Recommend me some gimmicky 2D platformers

My favourite type of game is the 2D platformer, and I especially like linear ones with seemingly complex gimmicks that are used so well they become like a second language. does anybody know any games of this sort?

some personal favourites:

Drill Dozer
Knuckles' Chaotix
Rockin' Kats
Klonoa: Door to Phatomile

I have been meaning to play Bomb Chicken for a while now.
I did not like Wario Land 3.

I did not like Wario Land 3.
Noitu Love Devolution. That one should still be on the 3DS e-shop, as of this writing.

Gonna keep it simple and go straight for a classic: Bionic Commando on the NES.
They made a Platformer that doesn't even have a Jump button yet somehow it worked.
