Those would play a role. I suspect even getting close to the screen might make a difference.

Does that mean that you recommend the built-in mouse on my laptop or my wired Logitech mouse?

Do you recommend a laptop, a desktop, a tablet, or a touch phone?

The thing about fighting games is it's more about prediction, not reaction.

I concur.

However, at the highest level (with the most powerful competitors), every little advantage and edge can make a gargantuan difference during the competition.

Some of the competitors in Super Smash Bros. Melee 1.02 have been playing this video game since 2001.

Daigo Umehara has been competing for over 15 years.

Justin Wong has been competing for over 12 years.

I'd probably go with the wired mouse. Your index finger will already be resting on the left button, making it faster for you to click, whereas having your finger rest on the built-in one would require you to lift your finger and then tap, or just have your finger hover over it.

I'd go with a laptop or desktop. A tablet and touch phone are pretty much like the built-in mouse.

My average result for reaction time was 319 ms on a laptop without a mouse. With a mouse, my average result is 277 ms. I'm 33 years old.
