That's why I think Rayman has a decent chance of getting in. His game on the Wii is pretty much a flagship title, and a big system seller. I'm pretty sure it's considered a must have game that really shows off the Wiimote. And with that kind of contribution, I'm pretty sure someone in the right position wants Rayman in Brawl.

Didn't read the other pages, sorry.

I'm not saying I would like Rayman in, nor am I saying he should be kept out, but Ubisoft's been showing some crazy lovin' towards Nintendo as of late, what with the 7 launch games and the billion more being announced daily.

Personally, I'd rather see the Prince of Persia, but that's just me.

The Prince definitly sounds interesting, but I think rayman would be a better choice for brawl, I don't expect him to be in, although It would be cool if he was.

Hi all. This is my first post in here smashboards.

Rayman has really big chance to get into Brawl beause he has that raving rabids game for Wii.

And i think it would be good if u could press and hold the B button to charge the punch throw thing and walk at the same time.

My main is Link. But if Rayman is in Brawl then he would be my main. :p

...btw do they make chars anymore?

I liked Rayman during his platforming days....before his Rabbids game, which I do have, and it is entertaining for about 10 minutes, then we go back to WiiSports.

Rayman, unlike a lot of suggestions, actually has a lot of moves from games that could easily work with a moveset. I could think of a bunch from his N64 days, but I don't feel like it right now.

Either way, Rayman is both cool and would easily be unique and fun to play. Rayman for Brawl!

I like Rayman too, and i think he'll be a very interesting and unique character.

...but...

He has alot on competition ahead of him. And since there is only goin to be around 1-2 more characters, his chances are low. Here the list in order of popularity and chances.
1. Snake (duh)
2. Sonic (shoe-in)
3. Geno
4. Megaman
5. Bomberman

Thats probably the maximum number of characters. If Sakurai includes 6, its a tie between Rayman and Pacman (Sakurai loves him).

Its sad but tru. Even if Sakurai includes 6 character (psyche!), Rayman isnt that close to Nintendo.

...maybe, but probably not...

I think that bomberman has a better chance, but i think rayman would be great. I doubt sonic will get in though. If rayman gets in, i hope they put a rabbid as an assist trophy. He has low chances, but i can hope.

I think you fancy Bomberman's chances a little too much. I'm pretty sure he's a lot farther down on the 3rd party list than that. Pacman, Simon Belmont, Tails and Knuckles have a better chance than him. There are plenty of others who are better 3rd party candidates, too.

Besides, Sakurai already said there probably wouldn't be more than three 3rd party characters.

Bomberman is a bigger gaming icon than Belmont and hudson is close with nintendo (i.e. Mario Party)...and hes more popular than Knuckles or Tail. but as for Rayman, hes got little to no shot, and now that ithink about it...i kinda dont want him in anymore

ps. - its not hate...i have Rayman 1,2,3 and Arena...but screw them Rabbids for crying out loud

Rayman is a personal choice i would LOVE to see in smash. with ubi having great relationships with nintendo, this would increase his chances. but seeing as other 3rd party characters are favored more, his chances are really slim as it is.

still, i'd love to see it

Rayman would have much better moves like punch throw and helicopter.
Bomberman can just set bombs and Packman just eats...
Well bomberman would replace Mr game and watch.

Would this be good move set to Rayman?:

A - 180 deg. Spin Kick
AA - 180 deg. Spin Kick with heel
AAA - Jump Kick first with hes right foot and then with the left foot

<- then A - Runs and Spins hes hands
Up then A - Punches up and spins like Mario
Down then A - Crouches, spins 360 deg. and kicks at the same time with hes other foot

<- + A - Punch with Left hand
<- + A + <- + A - Punch with Right hand
Up + A - Back Flip Kicks with both legs at the same time
Down + A - Head Spin
o
Nair - Punch from Down to Up like ( [] o
Fair - Double Kick Forward
Uair - Punch Up with both of hes hands at the same time
Dair - Stomp like Ganondorf
Bair - Double kick Backward then Flip Forward ([]( -> --o -> --o
o o
B - Punch throw - Tap to charge longer and powerfuller throw - you can move while charging
<- + B - Foot Throw
Up + B - Jump + Helicopter
Down + B - Takes hes body to hes hand and throws it like Bowling ball - In the air throws it to ground - comes back like Punch

Cheer/Taunt - Punches up with Right hand, Jumps and says at the same time "Yeah!" then Punches with left hand and says "Rayman!" (like in Rayman 2 ;P)

Screw Rayman.... Rabbids for Brawl!!!:joyful:

Just joking.... yeah i know it is bad. Just saying because the Rabbid's popularity is almost overshadowing Rayman's own. If you guys heard of Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (Which is ONLY coming for Wii & DS). Rayman is forced to disguise as a rabbid, and in multiplayer you play as the Rabbids instead of Rayman!

As dumb as they are, they are very popular in the comedic world. Also in RRR 2 there will be some dressed up as popular characters in other series. Such as a Naruto Rabbid, Darth Vader Rabbid, and even the (Video game character, not singer) Mario Rabbid.

Nah man, there are just way many other deserving third party characters out there. Too many. Just cause he comes out with game for the Wii doesn't mean he'll make the cut.

Man, I swear if he is added to the mix, I'm gonna buy Brawl & pound on Rayman till someone pryes the controller from my hands!

you wanna fight?

Man, I love Rayman. He's so delightfully quirky, and he has a lot more personality than the main characters of a lot of other platform-jumping games. It's a real pity he's never gotten as much attention as his games deserve. To be frank, of all the third party characters that could be put into Brawl, Rayman has some of the best chances in terms of company relations.

Of course I AM a little biased... I've been role-playing as Rayman for a while now ^_^;;;

Here's hoping!

Uh...no, he's third party. Ubisoft =/= Nintendo.

And to think Rayman's chances even come close to rivaling Sonic's or MegaMan's is ridiculous.

2nd party characters are from companies that are owned by nintendo, but aren't Nintendo themselves (if you get what I mean). Examples of 2nd party companies of Nintendo are Hal labs, and Gamefreak.

3rd party companies aren't owned by any console in particular, so they are free to make games for whichever one they choose.

Sheesh, I didn't realize Rayman was such a touchy topic. All I meant when I said that Rayman's chances were good is that Ubisoft has a good working relationship with Nintendo right now, as does Sega. As for Capcom... well to be honest I have no clue. In any case, corporate politics are likely to have at LEAST as much sway over these decisions as Sakurai's whims, so I'll maintain that Rayman has very good chances, especially considering all the Raving Rabbids stuff we've been getting on Wii and DS, just as Sonic has very good chances based on Secret Rings and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. There really isn't any more or less evidence in favor of Rayman than there is for any other particular character- we'll just have to wait and find out.

But hey, I can dream can't I? XD

Look man, you gotta calm down. You can't go around spouting false information and then getting angry and asking for PROOF when someone corrects you. Now you're taking personal jabs at me. You think I can't figure out a few simple acronyms? Relax.

You didnt try to be annoying?!
I think that all hates you at school and you dont know it.

Like month ago i red somewhere that Ubisoft were assisting Sakurai.

E:
-={Some reports said that Ubisoft will be assisting for Brawl.}=- Rayman is Ubisoft's mascot. So Rayman will deserve a place if Ubisoft helped... (and so on)

I wouldn't mind Rayman, so long as it then allows Rabbids into the game.

Smashing Rabbids around the place would be just about the greatest thing, ever.

Also, Ubisoft is one of the few (read: only) 3rd parties who was so willing to take a chance on the Wii, even BEFORE its launch.

Besides, Rayman in SSBB in exchange for BG&E2 as a Wii exclusive would be an awesome deal.

In the near vicinity of Marios toilet.
I don't see how his B-moves would be something other than "shoots a ball of energy from his hands!"
Your forgetting the moves he made in the very first rayman. I bet few people do, but when he attacked, he did a punch where his hand flew off in a direction...

There are a ton of moves for him, that is, if you dig deep into the series.

B side - Plugger gun shot (RRR Wii)
B up - Copter helmet (Rayman 3 PC)
B down - Belly throw (on the ground - Rayman M) (in the air - Rayman 3 GBA)
