C'mon Barbie, let's go Party.
Chance - 65%
Barbie was a massive hit for WB. Like. Keep the company afloat during a hard year type hit. Big money. It was impossible to not encounter merchandise or promotion for this film last year. You could not walk into a store without seeing merch. It is certainly something I could see Warner and PFG wanting to tap into. The game have actually publicly acknowledged the memes around Barbie. Barbie is actually a perfect characters for MVS's live service model of selling expensive cosmetics as there are so many different costumes they could pull from.

There may be some potential roadblocks. Namely the fact that Warner don't actually own the Barbie IP. Mattel do, but we know guest characters are something the team are not opposed to including and we've already seen fringe cases like Jason so I don't think this would really be an issue at all. Another possible issue is that we're a year on from Barbie and we don't know if there's gonna be any sequels or anything. There has been talk of a Greta Gerwig-less sequel (a terrible idea by the way!) but the sources don't seem to be great. As far as we know WB aren't doing anything else with the universe. I do wonder if there not being anything new to promote may make this less likely, but once again I don't see really see it. Movie Barbie also means they would have to use the likeness of one of the most famous actors in the world right now, though they could probably get around this by going with a more toonified take on the character or a more doll inspired take. It's not impossible that they go for Ken instead. He's very much the break out character of the film and has the meme factor that this game is so desperately chasing, i do really think Barbie has a real strong chance of happening but I just wonder if timing and costs may be what prevent her from getting in. I feel we may have heard rumblings already if she was planned. But the film was so huge for WB I gotta rate it high still.

Want - 80%
Barbie is not something I cared about really, but I liked the film. I though it was very fun and had a really strong message for kids of all the varing genders, despite what right wing angry grown men on the internet will tell you. I do wonder what you'd do for her moveset but I think they could do something fun with changing her outfits and the swap out nature of a doll. Her interactions with characters like Arya or the PPG would be good. If this was a more general Mattel doll version of Barbie? I'd still be down but I wouldn't be as excited. It'd still be a funny pick and a big get. Stage could be really cool too. I do think Ken would be really cool too just for the memes alone.

Pure Imagination
Chance - 70%
Wonka was another massive hit for WB, and unlike Barbie a sequel is apparently planned for a few years time. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is incredibly iconic and one of those all time classic films that would fit right alongside the likes of Wizard of Oz and Gremlins. It's something everyone knows. Warner did put out both the Tim Burton remake and the just mentioned Wonka prequel movie. They even put out the Tom and Jerry crossover that exists for some reason. They (I believe? this stuff is hard to keep with) now own the distribution rights to the original Gene Wilder version after a deal with Quacker Oats (no, really). So I think Willy Wonka has more than enough ties to Warner by this point. I think the biggest thing in Willy's way may be that they'd still have to get the rights to the mad chocolater himself. They'd have to go the Roal Daul estate and we have no way of knowing how they'd feel about putting him in a game like this. There's not really any prescient for it as I can't find any examples online other than a few mobile games.

I do think with how huge Wonka was and with a sequel rumoured, Wonka feels likey. I do wonder which version they would choose to go with. Chalamet is what's hot right now, and we know he's open to ring included in games due to the many Dune crossovers. The game does tend to lean with older versions though and there was the aforementioned Tom and Jerry movie, so I think Wilder would end up being the default with a ludicrously expensive Wonka skin sold later.

Want - 96%
This would be very fun. I haven't seen Wonka yet but I have a lot of love for the original. One of my all time favourite childhood films. The is actually a lot you could for a moveset. Throwing gobstopers, exploding candy, violet bubblegum, fizzy lifting drinks. There's a lot there to pull from with all his crazy confectionery inventions. A stage set in the Chocolate Factory would also be very fun, going down the chocolate river. I don't really mind which version they go with as along as it's not the Burton version. Please.

Literally Me

Chance - 5%/90%/45%. Barbie is the most successful movie Warner Brothers has ever made (not accounting for inflation). It was also extremely well received, being a genuine contender for some awards. By all accounts she should be a shoo-in for Multiversus, right? Not quite, there are a few things that give me pause (at least in the short term). One of them is the necessary involvement of Mattel. I'm not sure how strict they are with Barbie, but requiring the involvement of any outside company can hurt a character's score (especially now that "this character can and will interact with Jason Vorhees" is part of the discussion). I'm not too concerned about that, though. Barbie in Multiversus would likely pull almost entirely from the 2023 movie, which is already more mature than usual Barbie fare. The biggest thing that hurts her, especially in the "short term" category, is timing. Multiversus has had shill picks before - Lebron James and Black Adam are obvious, and apparently an upcoming character (Aquaman) was originally intended to tie in with a recently released product. Barbie would have fit right in (with the only exception being that her movie was good). However, when the Barbie movie released and interest was at an all-time high, Multiversus was busy being dead. Now the game is back, but Barbie is kind of out of the spotlight and there's been no word on a sequel. She's kind of past the point of being a "promo pick", and is now just a... "pick". Obviously she's not impossible, it's just not as easy as it would have been if Barbie released one year earlier or one year later.

Also, if they add Barbie, I hope she's added at the same time as some Nolan-aligned character. We must keep the tradition going.

Willy McDuff, from Willy's Chocolate Experience

Chance - 15%/95%/55%. William Wonkason is in a similar situation to Barbie, both in the "missed the promo opening due to the game dying" area and the "involved with a third party" area. That being said, I feel Wonka has better odds when comparing the two. While both had big movies last year, this was the first meaningful Barbie movie - meanwhile, this is the third Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. In the domain of film and TV, which is what Multiversus is concerned with, Wonka is the bigger fish. There also seems to be a sequel to Paul Atredies' Wonda in development, meaning that it's a series that Warner would see value in adding to this game. The Roald Dahl estate is really the only roadblock - and I have no idea how big an issue they would be.

If that pairing happens in MultiVersus, we'd most likely get our fourth Batman character in the game, due to The Dark Knight Trilogy. Odds are that slot would go to Scarecrow, Two-Face, Catwoman, or Bane in that case.

In a big turn of events, Neo has fallen out of the Top 10 of chance and want. Chance-wise, that's not too surprising due to not just low confidence in the game, but the fact that Agent Smith came first which raised some eyebrows. But him falling a good amount in want is surprising. I'm just gonna chalk it up to the fact that many of the Neo fans who were here for his first rating did not come to participate for his rerate.

Because of Neo's absence, we now have The Powerpuff Girls in #10 for Chance, and Static has returned to the #10 spot in Want.

Let's start with Barbie

Chance: 25%

Again, I'm skeptical on third party characters at the moment so I'm being conservative with my score. But I do think Barbie is one of the big contenders. Barbenheimer was the movie event last year and Barbie made bank. While the hype for the movie has died down, there is still potential in the marketing synergy in bringing Barbie to MultiVersus as it is a big IP after all, plus I feel that the movie did draw in a bigger crowd to the brand, including some of the demographic that also plays MultiVersus.

One thing I do want to touch upon is that around the time when the game was about to reopen, I remember there was some Barbie-related promotional material floating around. While that doesn't guarantee that Barbie content is coming, it does raise an eyebrow. I mean, if you are gonna use a third party IP in marketing material, it makes sense that you'd probably also consider adding it to the game. But then again, the marketing for this game has been very wacky so who knows.

Want: 70%

I do love last year's Barbie film. It was a very funny, entertaining and poignant film that said some very important things about accepting yourself and learning to maintain your happiness without having a romantic partner. Plus the moveset potential is great with the core idea that Barbie can occupy any profession. Even now I wouldn't say I'm a big Barbie fan or anything, but the Greta Gerwig movie definitely made me more interested in having Barbie come to MultiVersus.

- - -- - - - - - -- - - -

Wonka

Chance: 25%

I don't have as much to say about Wonka. It is another big IP with a film that released last year that made a good amount of profit. Plus WB does have a decent history with the IP going back to the original film and since then they have had other cross-synergy productions like the Tom and Jerry/Willy Wonka film. Overall, Willy Wonka is simply an iconic character and brand. I do think it is one of the more likelier third party picks.

Want: 55%

This is the same score I gave to him last time. I haven't seen the new film but I've watched the other two when I was younger. This is a franchise that I have enjoyed, but never was that crazy about. It would be amusing to see Wonka in the game, but I wouldn't be too excited either.

Coming in here real quick just to rate Ryo, as I feel this is my area of expertise

Chance: 3%

Shenmue, for those unaware, is a classic series of open-world sandbox adventure games developed by SEGA, originally released for the Dreamcast. It follows the story of Ryo Hazuki, a teenager whose father was murdered by the feared criminal leader Lan Di, and who goes on a long, and possibly even futile, journey to get his revenge. It was developed by legendary SEGA creator Yu Suzuki, the man also responsible for Virtua Fighter and various 80s arcade titles, and it essentially served as a culmination of everything he had done up to that point - the series is chock-full of references to both his work and other SEGA properties. It was considered a massively innovative release for the time, acting as an early pioneer of that 3D sandbox style that would go on to become so common, recieved a crapton of industry acclaim and has an extremely devoted fanbase that swears by it to this day - so much so that, when a third entry was announced, the Kickstarter for it went on to be one of the fastest-funded ones in history. Though the series has certainly seen better days, as the recent third entry was rather poorly-received and still didn't finish the story, that dedicated following still persists, hoping for a continuation.

......So you might be wondering what kind of WB connections this series might have? Well, here's the gist of it - a few years back, there was a Shenmue animated series. It was funded by Adult Swim, and it aired on Adult Swim. Simple as that. As for if Ryo'd get in - I'd personally say no. The only entry he'd have into this game is if they wanted to promote the show......which ended after one season and has already been over for a couple years now. It kind of just came and went, and I'm sure it'd probably be the last thing on the devs' minds when thinking about recent projects they'd want to promote, and even when it did air, I'm not sure it exactly received top billing. There's also the fact that MultiVersus, while a big fan-pleasing crossover, is also a product - and to be honest, if they're already talking with SEGA to get someone in, I wonder if they'd just forgo the WB connections and pick out someone more popular instead - Shenmue has a big fan following, but it's not exactly mainstream either. So.....yeah, it's not looking good. The only window he'd ever have for inclusion - already a narrow window at that - is gone, and without that you're left with a character from a series that I just don't feel would ever be prioritized if they took the plunge on video game characters.

Want: 80%

Yeah, I'd be super down for Ryo! Shenmue isn't like, one of my favorite SEGA properties, but it's still a super interesting classic series with a big place in history, and I'd love to see Ryo finally show up in a fighting game. To be honest, when I first realized this was possible, I just thought it was funny that a slight intersection between my niche-ass interests and this game even existed, and so I started pushing him in sort of a tongue-in-cheek way from time to time. Unless someone at the dev team has the same kind of "find niche connections between WB stuff and the stuff they like" brainrot that I do, I don't see this happening, but I'd be very happy nonetheless. I did decide to knock my rating down slightly just because I'd rather see chars with more established WB connections, though.

Chance: 28%
Osmosis Jones has got a gun, he's got a sidekick, and his world has a distinctive 2000s visual style to make a stage out of, he's a good fit for sure! I could see Osmosis Jones getting the same resurgance Iron Giant has gotten in merchandise in coming years, since it's already a cult hit and 2000s nostalgia is in vogue, but his chances hinge a lot on that prospect which has not come to be yet. Otherwise he's pretty out-prioritised unless P1G REALLY wants to add a representative for an original animated movie, where he's probably the next big pick, which isn't saying much - for a name that's pretty well associated with animation, WB has never had the best luck in feature-length cinematic toons, hmm...

Years ago... I was Warner Brothers...
Chance: 2%
sonic the heghodge company = no.

I guess I'll say one thing in defense of Ryo's chances, and that's that if guest characters are on the table, and they're not going to run off of "must be affiliated with WB" rules, Sonic seems like a somewhat reasonable one to expect - appeals to a similar audience; has an ongoing movie series; has 3 potential sidekicks to choose from for 2V2; would line up with the "beat Smash at their own game" rumor given how contentious his portrayal is; has a lot of crossovers especially with Western IPs... still not a double-digit likelihood, but I guess a Sega character could coat-tail off of Sonic theoretically, in the I dunno, 5% chance Sonic gets in, within the 14% chance we get guests not from new WB movies or meme campaigns.

Osmosis Jones
Chance: 15%

Osmosis Jones is a movie that, much like the other WB Feature Animation films not named Space Jam, didn't do very well at the box office. However, much like The Iron Giant, it didn't stop there (like it did for, say, Quest for Camelot and to a less embarrassing extent Cats Don't Dance). While The Iron Giant had a home media resurgence due to strong word of mouth, Osmosis Jones...had a fairly successful Kids WB spinoff show, Ozzie and Drix. Was it mostly Saturday Morning Cartoon fare? Yeah, but it made the wait for new episodes of Pokémon Johto Journeys and the Yu-Gi-Oh Battle City arc more enjoyable.

So while it's not a movie that set the world on fire, it's far from some forgotten relic. People DO remember it. But only time will tell if WB and the team do.

Want: 50%
I really liked Osmosis Jones growing up, and the Ozzy and Drix show was good fun. Though honestly...I think I'd prefer Drix out of the duo. I've always really liked his design. I could see Ozzie himself do some cool things with his gun and flexible body though.

Fun fact: the TV show established that Drix's aunt is named Auntie Histamine and I just think that's funny.

Ryo Hazuki
Chance: 2%

I'm incredibly skeptical of third party characters due to the state of the game. In general I think they're never-evers unless they have massive connections to WB, like Barbie or Godzilla. That's not to say that Shenmue as a series has NO connections. It very much does. As stated, the Adult Swim connection IS there. But it's also something that, in the grand scheme of things, is fairly minor and growing more so by the year. The IP itself is also in a fairly awkward place right now, if I remember correctly. Over all it just seems like a bridge too far.

Want: 50%
I'm perfectly neutral on this. I've never played Shenmue, but I know enough people who have that I'd be happy for them by proxy.

Venture Bros. Content
Chance: 50%

Timing is everything here. Venture Bros. is a fairly beloved Adult Swim property, but it also isn't the only one, and they may want to space them out. Aqua Teen, Primal, Smiling Friends...they're also very popular. And if you include ones "adopted" from other parts of the company, there's the cast of Space Ghost Coast to Coast and T.O.M. from Toonami as well. And this is all compounded by the fact that we're seemingly getting a third Rick and Morty character even if Pickle Rick just ends up as a skin. That being said, I could easily see Brock Samson, for example, getting in down the line. But it's those last three words where the problem is. A live service game having a limited life span by nature means that time is of the essence, and while I COULD see them go for Brock, they could just as easily go for Master Shake or Charlie or Spear. Or Morty's dad I guess.

Want: 50%
I haven't seen much of the show but the character designs are top notch. I'd be totally okay with it coming aboard.

Osmosis Jones is an early 2000's live-action/animation hybrid movie. Like others of its genre, it wasn't a mainstream hit at the box office. Unlike others of its genre, it actually spawned a TV show. You never saw a Quest for Camelot series, for example. On the other hand, I don't see him getting into MultiVersus very soon.

Want: 60%
I mean, I'm the kind of guy that wants more animated characters in this game, and the fact that he didn't come from Looney Tunes or Cartoon Network tackles a niche among 90s kids. Plus, you could do some freaky mind games with a germ in the police force. Now, would the stage be the City of Frank or the City of Hector?

Jonny Quest: The Rebel Years
Chance: 55%
You'd be hard pressed to find an Adult Swim franchise more beloved than The Venture Bros, barring Rick and Morty who are already in the game. Starring Hank and Dean Venture, the show also stars Rusty Venture, Brock Samson, and The Monarch. In short, a 2v2 fighter would be a great fit for this series to get the nod.

That said, its relevancy has waned a little, making it less likely to have a slot right now. But rest assured, this show has a greater chance than most on Adult Swim. Including our next candidate.

Want: 40%
Speaking on personal terms, I've never seen The Venture Bros. But I have heard good enough things about them to want something from this series in the game.

Mr. Shen Mue
Chance: 1%
If I explain my reasonings, I'd mostly trample over flattened ground. Shenmue is owned by Sega. The recent animated series was a one-and-done from a few years back. Rinse and repeat.

However, what I want to bring up is the competition, even among WB fans. Sonic, for instance, has a full-on crossover with OK KO! Let's Be Heroes. A show which, mind you, has Scooby-Doo, Adventure Time, and Teen Titans in the same universe. Persona 5's protagonist codename is Joker, which I am sure the team would take advantage of in some way or another. Heck, if we're only talking about Adult Swim, they could grab Lupin the Third from Sega if they wanted to. Just saying there are options.

Want: 10%
A character is a character, but even in Sega's camp, Ryo might be overshadowed by other brawlers. Better wait until Sega makes their own fighting game, Hazuki.

Osmosis Jones and the Destroyers of the Germs

Chance: 10%

I mean, he did get a show in addition to the movie and he does seem to have an audience that remembers him so I'll give him some credit. Plus I just found out via the Wikipedia page that the series got a complete series DVD set in 2017 by the Warner Archive Collection so it's not entirely forgotten by the studio, either. But this would be quite low on the priority list and I feel that the game would have to last for quite a while before Jones would be seriously considered.

Want: 10%

Sorry guys, but I didn't care for Jones or his show when I watched it as a youngling. It is an interesting premise, but I was kind of a picky kid who only wanted to watch certain cartoons and Ozzy and Drix just wasn't my jam at all. If it's any consolation, I do find the opening song to be catchy so If Jones did get in, I'd hope it would be the opening that would be remixed.

- - - - - - - - - -- - - -

Venture Bros

Chance: 60%

The Venture Bros is one of Adult Swim's most iconic and acclaimed series that had a very good run up until last year when it received a film as the series finale. So while it's a bit too late for the promotional aspect, it's still a very marketable franchise, with a good-sized fanbase, that would be appealing to the higher ups at WB. While there is some competition with other Adult Swim series, namely Smiling Friends which recently blew up, I could see someone from this series be added in the somewhat near future.

Want: 50%

I've only seen a few moments from the show when I was very young and at that age I just bounced right off the show. But for it to have as great of a legacy and reputation as it does have, there has to be something special there and I was just too young to get it. While I don't think I will ever get the urge to watch it, I do respect the Venture Bros and it's one of those franchises where it actively feels missing from the game.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - --

Ryo

Chance: 5%

Shenmue is a beloved franchise, for sure, but unfortunately I don't see Ryo joining, at least not anytime soon. Shenmue is a series that has struggled over its lifetime, to the point where Shenmue 3 needed help from a Kickstarter to be realized. That, and the Adult Swim series didn't make a big splash or anything. That tells me that if Sega did get a character (or even several), they would just go for the bigger fish like Sonic.

Want: 60%

I never got the chance to play Shenmue, but I do respect its legacy and it's a series I've been eying for a while now. If I ever get back into gaming I'd definitely give it a shot. It looks very fun and I dig the music.

Omosis Jones

Chance: 49%

that's interesting of have Omosis Jones on Multiversus, and a movie who have Roger Rabbit effect is very good (i mean movie who mix live-action with animation),and the movie who had a cartoon who was successful,i think is good, but Omosis Jones is very forgotten by 2D animation movies were dying and people are care for 3D animation movies.

Want: 18%

i don't remember a lot of this cartoon,for me is a okay choice,and it's a good choice for a cult classic.

Venture Bros. Content

Chance: 48%

Adult Swim reps is a great choice, and Venture Bros. is a good choice,a choice is alright for the characters (and i don't have a lot for talk about)

Want: 10%

i don't know a lot of this cartoon,but i putted 10% for be a good AS rep

Shenmue

Chance: 0%

Want: 0%

look, why Shenmue on a Warner platfighter?,Sega don't have any connections with Warner, and Shenmue works as probably on a possible Sega VS Capcom game or any other crossover game

Noms: Pikachu
Let me remind you again that you need at least four complete sentences per character in order for your scores and noms to be counted.

If you are having a hard time coming up with things to say about a character, you can abstain on them and your noms will still be counted. Even if you abstain on everybody, you will still have 10 noms.

Lastly, Sega does have connections with WB. In this case, Shenmue had a series on Adult Swim. Please do some research before making claims like that.

Scoliosis Jones

Chance - 1%/50%/25%. It's odd - of the five major Hollywood Studios, Disney is the only one with a big presence in both TV and Film animation. Sony has a fairly prominent animation studio, and Universal has two, but they don't really make shows (20th Century Fox was also in this category before the buyout). On the other hand, you have Warner Brothers (and Paramount), who have incredibly iconic cartoon channels, but a fairly small theatrical footprint. Most of Warner's animated movies are spinoffs of other parts of the company (Batman: Mark of the Phantasm, Scoob, and the upcoming Rohirrim movie as examples). Osmosis Jones is probably the most iconic WB animated movie yet to be represented (excluding the Lego Movie series, which is vaguely third party), but that's a fairly low bar to clear. I'm not saying he's impossible or anything, but I can't give him a much higher score. Unless one of the devs really loves the series, or Ozzy somehow becomes a big fan request, I can't imagine he's a high priority - and given the colossal pool of character options, it'll be a while until they get around to him.

Ryo Sakazaki

Chance - 0%/2%/1%. I don't think this is happening. Shenmue just... isn't that big of a series. It's only had three main series games. Take a look at Smash, Sega has been involved with the series for three games and there isn't a hint of Shenmue content. With competition like Monkey Ball, Yakuza and Puyo Puyo, it's almost assuredly not the next to be added either. There was the Adult Swim show, but that sorta came and went without much of an impact. If we were to get a Sega character, I honestly think it would be Sonic. He has just as much of a Warner connection, and for some reason he's a top fan request. Even then, I don't think Sonic's all that likely.

Super Venture Bros.

Chance - 1%/70%/35%. I don't know a lot about the series, but it seems pretty prominent. The series was on the air for a decade and a half, and had a movie last year. I didn't go into this expecting to give the idea such a high score, but here we are! The only concern I have is it getting out-prioritized by other Adult Swim IPs. Characters from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Smiling Friends
1718997687526.png
, Space Ghost, and The Boondocks seem to be more common requests, and datamines seem to suggest that Rick and Morty might be getting a third character in Mr. Meeseeks. I'm not too worried about it getting out-competed, but it's something to keep in mind.

Abstain on want to all. Half of my noms to Gwimbly (I want him day one), the other half to George Jetson.

"Too bad you won’t be here to see me break my record, when I take down frank’s pretty little girl"
“She ain’t goin down, you are”-Osmosis Jones towards Thrax

Osmosis Jones

Theme Song: Cool, Daddy Cool by Kid Rock ft. Joe C.

50%: Osmosis Jones is a 2000’s animated movie that takes the buddy cop dynamic and puts it inside the human body where the heroes face a villain who’s based on a contagious virus trying to harm the body, although the film was a financial failure it still held a cult following with some people fondly remembering it and the movie managing to get a tv show lasting over 26 episodes for 3 years.

It’s chances in multiversus could be affected by whether warner would want to add it or not, if they're bothered by how much the movie failed years ago then it would look very unnecessary for them to do that cause while i get the reasonable idea iron giant also failed in the box office too and despite it failing too due to no marketing it shows that every any animated film is on the table for their game to cater to all of their fans.

I think if there are people in the community who wants Ozzy in the game or some of the developers are interested in putting him then there’s a pretty good chance osmosis may appear in the future, hopefully if the game stays long enough for it.

Alternative Music: The Intro of Ozzy & Drix

60%: Osmosis Jones was a movie I did see when I was little and throughout most of my childhood mostly avoided it for a few of the scenes in the film laving me scared such as Thrax killing Scabies(even though he was still alive afterward) and Frank’s slow decline, but nowadays i’m not scared of it anymore and can watch the movie normally without fear, i have thought about rewatching it again yet haven’t found were to find it on DVD or on streaming(Til' now with Tubi).

Ozzy would be a great pick, having a character who stretches while using a pistol gun though he’d probably need to be a little unique apart from jake, although i did hear Oppossum talk about Drix as a fighter which got me interested in the idea a little bit more.

“What are you shy? Sasquatch doesn't have anything you haven't seen before?”

“SASQUATCH IS SOMETHING I HAVEN’T SEEN BEFORE!!!”-Brock Sampson towards Steve Summers

The Venture Bros.
Theme Song: No Vacancy

59%: The Venture Bros. another one of adult swim’s well known and popular series, lasting for over 9 seasons and a straight-to-dvd movie last year, with how well the series was and how much people enjoy the show it would be one of the best options for adult swim representation to multiversus.

However, there is some competition that might put the show in a waiting line as there are still other series from adult swim with some higher chances of getting in such as Smiling Friends, Aqua Teen, and Possibly even Robot Chicken or Royal Crackers, Rick & Morty could also get another character too such as Summer.

In spite of this the series still has a lot of people still liking the show(and maybe even people who still want a new season) and it has a long status of seasons showcasing it’s long gone legacy so long as people still ask for venture bros. For the game then maybe the multiversus crew can budge for venture bros.

Alternative Music: The Boys Never Died Music

60%: I’ve only seen some of venture bros. and two whole episodes plus half the movie, i know a bit of it and plan to watch it at some, I do like Brock’s design a bit and his voice Patrick Warburton is nice to hear, Monarch’s pretty funny, Dr. Orpheus is a Doctor Strange parody which is kinda funny too, but i also watched a few entertaining moments mainly the clip showing Hank & Dean dying too many times.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the show get in multiversus and would believe it is one of adult swim’s shows that should be in the game, Brock Sampson would be the main representative with The Monarch being the 2nd unless he’s only given an announcer pack.

Ryo
Abstaining: Not too familiar with Ryo's series but i do like his design a little and would be interested in playing his games, in terms of his chances? he had an anime that aired on Toonami but due to that show getting thrown away similar to the other shows from CN & Adult Swim plus apparently the series having bad luck, ryo's chances are very slim.

and if SEGA were to come into Multiversus they'd likely be asked for Sonic and not Ryo though i don't they'd be uninterested in putting him in, it could just be Warne Brothers' decision for Shenmue to appear or not.

Ooh ooh ooh!
Chance: 29%
Perhaps a little optimistic for a one-off character, but Gwimbly has a very weird and specific circumstance where a lot of convenient things fall into place - first, he's a meme, that's usually a good point for a character's chances in basically any Western developed crossover, but the main thing that stands out to me is that he's based around the idea of a "neglected mascot" (with quotations because most platforming characters of his type were never used as actual mascots in the Ronald McDonald sense), which is a concept that has quite strong ties in the modern zietgiest, for better or worse, to Smash - the idea of "Rayman making a comeback" (for example) is considered somewhat synonymous with "Rayman in Smash", I could go in-depth on this somewhat fallacius line of thinking, but this ain't the place, all that really matters is that that "Smash = comeback" and "Smash = scrimblo" are kind of how the series is percieved in a lot of ways - it's to the point where Gwimbly's episode, probably the first major pop culture production to my knowledge adressing the concept of a neglected gaming character, ends with him joining a Smash parody as his happy ending rather than having an actual new instalment, so there is a bit of a "full circle" quality of Gwimbly getting in MVS, a Smash-inspired game, and that would still exist even if Gwimbly's episode had a different ending - a lot of Gwimbly fan art banks off of the fun Goncharov-type (or I guess "Herculad-type" if I want to stay on theme) narriative of "Gwimbly was always a popular character, he has hundreds of games and cameos", and I could imagine MVS at least partially going for that. If anything, I feel like I should be rating Gwimbly higher, but because he's a one-off character from a very recent franchise, and only has implied powers, I have to knock him down a bit.

Want: 70%
I don't usually do want scores on this thread, since I don't care for MVS, but I do worry my chance comes off a bit pessimistic about the whole "mascot" thing, but no, Gwimbly's great, I love Goncharov bits, and characters with barely any source material almost always make for fun creative movesets. Make it happen!

All noms for the Cecils.

Chance: 15%
Tracy is sadly one of those characters who, while I think she should be in, is severely held back by fandom demographics. Both the 1988 version of Hairspray and the 2007 version are very iconic Warner Bros (through New Line) owned films. The former is probably John Waters's most iconic and well loved film (mostly due to it being basically the only one with...let's say wider audience appeal), and the latter, based on the Broadway musical adaptation, is widely considered among the best movie musicals, especially for one post-2000. It's also a property they still do things with: while the musical is not currently on Broadway, it does get performed pretty frequently elsewhere, including internationally. In 2016, there was also the live television version of the stage musical, Hairspray Live. The movie was also included in the big WB 100th Anniversary box set from last year. It's far from a forgotten relic.

New Line does have its foot in the door with Jason on the roster, at long last, so there's always a chance. But again, it's one of those things where said chance is hampered by the game's transient nature and the fandom's greater fixation on animated characters. When it comes to New Line, we don't even have any sign of Austin Powers or Buddy the Elf or Freddy Krueger yet, who may seem like bigger draws. Tracy, at the very least, does have the angle of being a female lead character in a mostly male dominated Multiversus cast, so perhaps that can give her an edge.

Want: 100%

Out of the two films I'm definitely more partial to the 2007 version and I think that's the version the team would go with for the base character. The Broadway version is also one of my all time favorite musicals, up there with Newsies, Les Miserables, and Wicked. Over all, I'd say Tracy is my second most wanted character only after Wilt.

WB's history with movie musicals is a long and storied one. The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain, My Fair Lady, The Music Man, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Little Shop of Horrors, and, of course, Hairspray...all of them would make for great additions to this game. I'd go as far as to say that it's just as important to have a good spread of characters from musicals as it is to have a good spread of animated characters when it comes to celebrating the history of Warner Bros. And the 2007 movie musical itself is also a great watch, with themes of unity, acceptance, and body positivity backed by the backdrop of the civil rights movement. It's a fun musical comedy with a lot of heart.

I've made a moveset for Tracy in the past, but basically I see her as a Mage style character whose close combat relies on her very late 50s/early 60s dance moves, as well as using clouds of hairspray to inflict buffs on herself and her allies, and debuffs on her foes.

Abstaining from Gwimbly

Half of my nominations will go to TOM from Toonami, and the other half to Don Lockwood.

Somehow the second animated film with a Live Action Bill Murray appearance to be represented
Chance - 40%
Honestly I think this is possible. Osmosis Jones may not have been a box office hit but it does have cult status and has become talked about more in recent years. He's another rep for WB animated films, something the company is weirdly lacking in despite their animated TV legacy. Unlike Iron Giant, which is the far more acclaimed film, Osmosis Jones did have a tv series continuation. He would be a pretty easy fit for a fighting game from the looks of things, he has a gun and a pretty unique bodytype. Really good stage potential too. He pops up fairly often on wishlists and polls, not topping them but doing well enough to be noticed. I just don't see him being a huge priority right now, unless some huge fan demand or meme around him gets going. This is a "maybe in five years" type pick.

Want - Abstain
Didn't see this one growing up. Didn't even know there was a show. He has a neat design and I wouldn't be opposed to him showing up.

Years ago, I was Chinese.
Chance - 0%
Why Ryo? I understand that Adult Swim had a Shenmue anime a few years ago, but I think the time for promoting that is sadly long gone. It wasn't picked up for a second season and isn't even listed on the AS site anymore. The series itself is also in a pretty iffy place, Shenmue 3 was a bit of a bomb and wasn't super well received ether. There are sometimes roumors of something happening with Shenmue 4 but last we heard it sounds like it is very much not in development. Guest characters aren't something we're probably gonna get a ton of, I can't see a dead series being one.

The biggest thing Ryo has going against him is his ownership. He's a Sega character, and while we know non WB guest characters are on the table, why would Sega go for Ryo when Sonic the Hedgehog is right there. Sonic is no stranger to crossovers and I really don't think a lack of WB connections (unless you count Sonic Boom airing on CN) would be an issue. Unfortunately Ryo is just out classed even in his own company.

Want - 28%
Dispite my low ranking above, I do like Shenmue. It's a really important game who's influence on the modern industry is often far too overlooked by younger gamers. It's also very funny, intentionally or not. Ryo is cool, he'd be a very unexpected pick but I wouldn't be mad at him. I haven't seen the anime but I actually might see if I can find it soon.

Go Team Venture!
Chance - 60%
The story of the Venture family, a Johnny Quest style family of adventurers including good hearted but dimwitted and incompetent sons Hank and Dean, neurotic and insecure inventor father Rusty (who himself was a boy adventurer sidekick growing up), and by far the most popular character, macho man bodyguard Brock Sampson in their adventures and battles against their foes, mainly butterfly themed villain the Monarch. The series is set in a world where heroes and villains work on a guild system where a hero is assigned a villain nemesis of their status. Featuring parodies of everything from old pulp heroes to Marvel and Dc to 70s Rock stars are featured The series gets much weirder as the seasons go on. In a pre Richard and Mortimer world, Venture Brothers was the big AS show. It ran for fifteen years and was constantly praised for its writing. It even did the "episodic humour show becomes more serialized and world building based" thing before Rick and Morty. The show was cancelled in 2020 but returned for a finale film to rap up the series a few years ago.

As who they'd go for. I think it really does come down to Brock. He's by far the most popular character and would be very easy to design a moveset for. He's already shown up in a few crossovers such as the second Poker Night game. After that I think the Monarch seems possible. Another really stand out character who could have a mix of supervillain based moves and butterfly inspired moves.

The biggest thing Venture Brothers has going against it is competition. Aqua Teen, Smiling Friends and more Rick and Morty reps are all possible new AS characters and VB is finished. It does have a pretty sizable legacy and fanbase even now though. I do think it's very possible if someone on the team pushes for it but it might need to wait.

Want - 80%
First watched this show for the first time last year and I loved it. First couple series are a little rough but once it gets going it's great. The later season stuff is so good. The movie actually made me cry. Really funny with some genuinely engaging mysteries. Brock would be really fun in MVS but there's a lot of characters who would work. Voice packs for characters like Henchman 21, Red Death or Dr. Misses the Monarch would be really neat too.

I can do my iconic Gwimbly Victory Taunt for only five Gleamium! I take toast.
1719423721899.png

Chance - 1%/50%/25%. I'm going to begin this analysis with an explanation of what Gwimbly is. Gwimbly is a character from the Adult Swim show Smiling Friends. He made his first (and currently only) appearance in the first episode of the second season. Gwimbly is a pastiche of washed-up mascot platformers from the PS1 and N64 era, like Crash, Gex, and especially Banjo. I would not be surprised if at some point in the episode's development, his name was literally Scrimblo Bimblo (the series' creators are terminally online like us). In the episode, we're introduced to Gwimbly as a homeless drug addict doing Cameos being sprayed with Dirty Brown Water. Pim (one of the series' main characters) and Alan (another important character) go on a mission to get Gwimbly a new game. Various comedic antics ensue, and at the end of the episode...
1719424452454.png

He's literally put in a platform fighter. It's easy to see why the character became so popular online, he's both a parody and a tribute to the forgotten mascot platformers of yesteryear.

I think a Smiling Friends character is extremely likely. The series has had two seasons with a third on the way, is extremely popular online, and seems to be a somewhat popular request for this game in particular. Gwimbly is not the frontrunner in this race, of course. The first SF characters are almost assuredly going to be Charlie and/or Pim, either by themselves or as a duo fighter. They have the iconic advantage of being the main characters of the show, and not a one-off side character. There are other options for additional SF reps, such as Mr. Boss, Alan, and Mr. Frog. It's like they're all conspiring to keep Gwimbly down, metaphorically hosing him with Dirty Brown Water. Gwimbly is extremely unlikely as a "normal" character addition. But the joke's on them, because Gwimbly is fighting a different war from all these bozos.

Banana Guard shook the world when he was revealed for Multiversus. While an incredibly infuriating inclusion at first, after a while the logic behind his inclusion began to appear. His model is reused from his appearance as an NPC, his moveset is incredibly basic - there's no doubt he was a low effort add. Not a clone, but there's no way he took even close the dev time a character like Joker or Jason did. Datamines suggest that Mr. Meeseeks might be added, presumably under similar circumstances. If they want to do a third character in this vein, I think Gwimbly is incredibly likely and a good choice to fill this role for a few reasons.

  • While he doesn't have a model already in the game, he's designed to look like a character from the fifth generation of gaming - IE, very low polygon. Making his model would probably be very easy, or they could just reuse one of the models from the show.
  • Gwimbly is voiced by Zach Hadel, one of the creators of Smiling Friends and also the voice of Charlie (among many others). If Charlie's already playable, getting him in the booth to voice Gwimbly would be a non-issue. Even if he isn't I doubt getting Zach would break the bank. He's a Newgrounds alum, he's no Estelle or Mark Hamill.
  • Gwimby is supposed to feel a little off-kilter and messed up. They could totally cut corners on his animation, and it would actually benefit the experience. Wolf in Super Smash Brothers Brawl is what I'm thinking of here.
  • Similarly, Gwimbly having a complex moveset would be weird. He's supposed to be a basic N64 era character, so him having a more basic moveset feels fitting. It's like how Banjo's smash moveset would feel right at home in Smash 64.
  • Gwimbly is a completely open book when it comes to moveset potential. In my opinion, there are only two things he "needs": the generic punch we see him throw in the Smash clone, and something called a "Gwimbly Gun™". Everything else is free reign (Even then we never see the Gwimbly Gun in the show, so that's up to the devs as well). The character has barely ten minutes of screen time, he's a glorified OC.
  • Unlike Banana Guard and most other low effort character ideas, there's a notable Gwimbly fandom. He's not a top request or anything, but he's not a nobody. If he were to be announced, I think the reception would be mostly positive, and that's huge for such a low effort inclusion.
Ultimately I wouldn't be suprised if they add Gwimbly. I'm not sure where to put this, but while Gwimbly is currently a one-off, I wouldn't be shocked if that changes in Season 3 of the show. Several one-off characters from Season 1 of Smiling Friends had appearances in the second season (such as Mr. Frog, DJ Spit, and Satan). It probably wouldn't be a full Gwimbly episode 2, but it counts for something.

Want: 80%. I like Smiling Friends, and I like Gwimbly. He's a silly little fellow. I'm gonna be honest, though, I would prefer most other options from the show. Like I said, I don't think Gwimbly's fighting the same battle as the rest of the Smiling Friends cast, but I would prefer someone like Charlie, Pim, or Mr. Boss. Seeing their interactions with the iconic roster of the game would be way more intresting than Gwimbly's, IMO.

I'll edit in my rating for Tracy Turnblad later.

One singular nomination to Smormu, everything else to George Jetson.

Abstaining: I don't know anything about this movie so i'll just hold off for now.

"Well, i don't do my iconic victory dance for nothin. Okay, i guess just this once i can do it for nothing. Ooh-Ooh-Ooh! Okay, i guess i can do one more for nothing. Ooh-Ooh-Ooh!"

Gwimbly

Theme Song: Ooh Oohh, Ooh!

60%: Gwimbly is a character who appeared in the 1st episode of Smiling Friends Season 2 and is a parody of video game platformer mascots such as Rayman who have been neglected by their companies after focusing more on too much serious realistic games and not receiving any newer games for years but manages to return with guest star appearances instead.

With Smiling Friends being very popular as it should be, getting a character in multiversus would be easy to have there's plenty of different options with Gwimbly. one of the recent characters being one of them. the meme factor would work for him since his episode was so well received that it basically became iconic for all of gwimbly's catchphrase and lines, plus people making up fake gwimbly games online with pictures & videos and overall liking him in general cause he's funny.

If the meme factor is still something player first games are still taking into default then gwimbly might get in the game that's if they decide to choose him or another smiling friends rep instead, if Both? we'll then it'd be fine.

Alternate Track: Random Rayman Music

69%: I like gwimbly's episode from smling friends, although i don't know if putting him in a real game would be a good idea. he's a parody of a gaming mascot who got ignored by their parent company and in the end wounded up in a smash bros parody which made him happy, but i think if he gets into a real fighting game like multiversus it might ruin the joke for me.

Although admittedly he has some cool moveset ideas like the gwimbly gun and what else mind you? so i'm not completely against the idea.

Can i nominate Mac & Bloo again?

I strongly urge people to only re-nominate characters if something major has happened since their last rating, and for Mac and Bloo I don't think anything new has happened with their franchise recently. But I won't stop you if you really want to talk about them again.

Was it common knowledge that Bloo was returning for the new Foster's preschool reboot when we last rated them? The show's existence was known, I know that much.

Yeah, the show's been known about for a while. The only thing somewhat recent is the fact that we got One (1) promo pic of what it actually looks like.

Foster's Nursery Rhyme is set to come and Bloo has officially been confirmed to return.

Actually, Bloo's coming back for The Jellystone & Cartoon Network Crossover Event.

I looked it up and we rated Mac and Bloo in October of 2022.

Bloo's existence in the new show was only revealed earlier this month, so yeah it's a new factoid.

GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM! (oh wait, wrong movie)
Chance: 5%

Allow me to begin this by saying what's on my mind. I don't think characters from movie musicals have a good shot at getting into MultiVersus. When compared to DC heroes and villains, cartoon characters with generational appeal, or whatever Reindog is, there doesn't seem to be as much potential for a movie musical to get representation.

Despite this, Tracy Turnblad from 2007's Hairspray is still one of the lucky ones in this instance. Her movie is still remembered to this day, and thanks to Jason Vorhees, it's not impossible for a character from New Line Cinema to make it in the roster now.

And yet, there still seems to be competition in the field. On New Line's turf, we have Buddy the Elf and The Mask. One's a new holiday classic, the other got a Saturday Morning cartoon on CBS. And in the movie musical court, she has to contend with at least one version of Willy Wonka. And if The Wizard of Oz counts as a movie musical, then she's backed into the wall here. Wicked Witch, Dorothy Gale, The Tin Man, The Scarecrow, The Cowardly Lion, Glinda, and I could go on.

Want: 67%
I fully admit that this is mainly for the music of Hairspray to get remixed. The character and stage can be whatever, but I want the music.

Ooh-ooh-ooh!
Chance: 20%

Gwimbly is (currently) a one-shot character from Smiling Friends, an Adult Swim series that looks to be the next face of the channel. Just from hearing about this show, I wish Zach Hadel a bright future on his hands. In the second season premiere, Gwimbly is a pastiche on forgotten gaming mascots like Gex or Banjo, now homeless and on the streets.

The thing about Gwimbly is that there's no wrong way to invent his history, just as long as he's a 90s platforming mascot with a Gwimbly Gun and a catchphrase to spout. However, people want him to be seen exactly as he looks now, a disheveled pile of polygons. Personally, I would prefer if he didn't.

Instead, I propose a different way to get Gwimbly in the game: Make his recreation of 90s platformers even more faithful here. Give his 90s look a fresh coat of paint, have his voice sound less raspy from old age, make his catchphrase a spammable taunt. Essentially, I want to give Gwimbly the Banjo and Kazooie treatment in this case, but on a metafictional standpoint.

As for how he fares in the show, I figure he'll get an appearance in the next season, considering the fan reaction to him. It's only a matter of time.

Want: 85%
I'm a sucker for 90s gaming mascots, even though I never played a game in that genre. That's how powerful the characterization is for some of them. To get a fictional gaming mascot in a game with Bugs Bunny and Shaggy in it would be a dream come true for both Gwimbly and his original developers.

Heck, even considering Adult Swim characters, I'd still want Gwimbly in the game more than most AS hopefuls. More than Brock Samson, more than the Aqua Teen Hunger Force, more than Huey Freeman, more than the Robot Chicken himself. The only characters I can say I want more than Gwimbly, or a Smiling Friends rep in general, would be Space Ghost, Brak, or TOM from Toonami. That's basically it.

Movie musicals are a pretty big part of Warner's cinematic legacy. I think it's important to represent as many parts of their wide history as possible. I think if we do get a musical rep the most likely options in my opinion are Willy Wonka or Audrey 2. Hairspray is pretty iconic and does get included in Warner compilations fairly often. I feel like it's one of the more acclaimed modern musicals. I just don't know if there's enough audience crossover here to make this worth doing for the devs, and with nothing new to cross promote I don't really see it happening.

Want - Abstain

Ooh Ooh Ooh
Chance: 15%
I think the big thing Gwimbly has going against him is the episodic story of the week nature of Smiling Friends. Almost every episode of the show introduces some new meme character who blows up online. It's fully possible that Gwimbly's time in the sun has passed by the time they get around to adding him. I also think Charlie and \ or Pim will be our first Smiling Friends character. He doesn't seem impossible though. He does have the added factor of being a fictitious video game character, and even appears in a platform fighter in his own episode. He ranks really high on fan polls right now, considering his meme status. He doesn't have many attacks to pull from, but I don't think that would be a big issue considering we have characters like Velma and Reindog in the roster. As long as he has a Gwimbly gun, some punches and some reference to creamed corn then I think they can afford to do whatever they want with him. The thing that would be most interesting about this addition would be which angle they choose to take with him. Do they base him off the episode where he's all washed up and glitchy or do they go for a more "How he would have looked in universe" style appearance? Both are vaild and you could easily do both with alts.

Want - 40%
Yeah. He's funny. love to see them get creative with his moveset. I think Smiling Friends has more than earned their spot at this point. He's the sort of meme addition I really don't mind, he's just such a fun character and the idea of treating him like this beloved gaming mascot who has secretly been around his whole time is just a very funny one. Have him lean on that 90s attitude.

Let’s make this anime about the horrors and tragedy of war include cool as **** mechs

Chance: 18%

I don’t think Gundam needs an introduction. It is a very iconic anime franchise that has spawned countless shows, video games, manga, etc, etc, you name it. Gundam has been around since 1979 and since then has remained a strong and consistent franchise. It is extremely influential and mainstream in Japan, and even in the West it has garnered a decent amount of popularity.

Now what is WB’s connection to the franchise? Various shows in the franchise like the original Gundam, Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, and Iron-Blooded Orphans have aired on Toonami and/or Adult Swim. Plus a Gundam appeared in Ready Player One, which was distributed by WB. So there is a decent history with the company there.

The main barriers to Gundam getting in are simply the steps needed to retrieve the license and competition from other anime that are bigger in the West like Dragon Ball and JoJo. Although there is an interesting angle to all that. From what I gathered, Bandai Namco fully owns the IP now. If PFG goes for another character like Goku, for example, they could be dealing with multiple companies. That does give Gundam a slight edge because while it’s not as super mainstream ( in the West) or requested as other anime franchises, it probably would be easier to obtain compared to its competition.

Overall, all things considered, I wouldn’t be surprised if we do get Gundam down the road.

Want: 100%

So far I’ve only seen some episodes of the original Gundam series, but over the past year I’ve kinda gotten into the franchise thanks to the Musou games. They are very fun, kickass games, and I’ve gotten the basic gist of some of the characters and stories thanks to those games. It’s a franchise that I definitely want to get more into someday with its emphasis on exploring the consequences of war and the awesome mech fights.

But either way, like, who doesn’t want a giant cool mech in a fighting game? The designs of the mobile suits are fantastic and while we would likely get the OG Gundam, it would be great if we got one of the cooler mobile suits like Gundam Wing or Gundam Unicorn. Regardless, I would be over the moon if this franchise got represented at all.

Mobile Suit Gundam
Chance: 20%

In case there are people who don't know about Gundam, it's an anime franchise about giant mecha battles and the disturbances of intergalactic war. You may think this would have no place on MultiVersus. Those who say this haven't seen a good portion of the shows and movies they pick characters from.

As for Gundam's ties with WB, look no further than the fanbase for Gundam Wing specifically. Toonami fans from the early 2000s still look back at this show fondly, and with Toonami Rewind being a thing, people are gunning for Wing to get a timeslot, pun semi-intended.

Unfortunately, Player First Games would have to talk with Bandai Namco Holdings in order to get the Gundam license. However, there's some inter-company competition at Bandai Namco as well. Pac-Man was adapted by Hanna-Barbera themselves, Agumon was the biggest rival to Pikachu in the monster catching anime business, and Lloyd Irving shares a voice with the Teen Titans (2003) version of Robin. But if they can get the Gundam license, it would be legendary.

Want: 90%
Even an anime greenhorn like myself knows what Gundam is. As such, I can't even pretend to not want a Mobile Suit in MultiVersus. We all know Brad Bird was inspired by anime when designing The Iron Giant, anyway.

Tigger and the Ghost Bouncers
Chance: 1%
Goober and the Ghost Chasers is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon from 1973. It was created using the Scooby-Doo formula of four teenagers and a wacky sidekick. The catch is their sidekick turns invisible. Oh wait, Funky Phantom also turns invisible, but at least he has a reason to do so.

Do I expect Goober to get into MultiVersus? Has Scooby-Doo himself been playable yet? Even if the answer to the latter question was "yes", I still wouldn't expect him to enter the battle. Not while characters like Dynomutt, Captain Caveman, Speed Buggy, and Jabberjaw are loads more recognizable to Hanna-Barbera fans.

Want: 90%
There is one reason why I would want Goober in a modern-day project of any sort. He's voiced by Paul Winchell.

Doesn't ring a bell, you say? Well, let me bring up the particular voice Mr. Winchell uses to play Goober.

That's right. Goober is basically Tigger as a dog. And you're looking at a genuine lifelong Winnie the Pooh fan. Heck, we already have Jim Cummings as Taz, so we can basically go full-circle and have him take on the role of Goober for this game. Do I need to say anything else?

GOOBER SWEEP! FIRST CARTOON TO MAKE A GOOBILLION EPISO-chance: 0%
Yeah, no. This was a meme nomination through and through. I thought it'd just be funny to make people react to this really weird piece of expired nostalgia. Honestly, I doubt Hanna-Barbera is really going to get that much attention in MVS outside of the Scoob simply because it's so old and has struggled so hard to keep relevancy as the kids who grew up on its cartoons are entering retirement homes, compared to something like Looney Tunes which is considered more timeless - and even among Hanna-Barbera in a vacuum, Goober is kind of seen as a punchline, "Scooby-Doo but weird and bootleg-but-also-not", Goober doesn't even show up whenever Scooby does a crossover with all his clones. He did show up in Jellystone, but that show's entire concept is based around using the most obscure HB characters. I would give Goober extra points for the potential of being a Scooby alt, but their body shapes are basically opposite and Goober has an extremely distinctive walk cycle, even if they could just make invisibility a taunt or something.

Want: 68%
It'd be funny, I'll say that much, but I can't deny it'd be a bit of a slap in the face to get something silly like this first when Hanna-Barbera is pretty clearly low priority, even as a Hugh defender and firm believer that devs should add what they want and not what the fans want or what makes objective sense.

All noms for Cecils.

Goober

Chance: 1%
Long story short, I can't really see him happening. Or at least not ANY time soon. I do think that if the game lasts long enough there's a chance he'd be added down the line as a low effort Scooby clone, befitting the character (I guess with the addition of turning invisible for a taunt or something). But considering just how many Hanna Barbera characters would reasonably come before him...he's a hard sell. When Scooby himself hasn't even been added yet, and you're STILL behind The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Yogi Bear, Wacky Races, Space Ghost, Snagglepuss, Huckleberry Hound, and a lot of other characters and series that are leaps and bounds more popular AND iconic just for a single brand that's already in a weird spot on the roster...it's not good.

Want: 10%
There's a laundry list of characters I'd prefer. There's a laundry list of just Hanna Barbera characters I'd prefer. Hell, Goober isn't even my most wanted Scooby Do-Over character (hi Jabberjaw). But he WOULD be funny down the line, and as someone who normally doesn't care for most joke characters, that's something.

"Not Bad... I'm just better."-Amuro Ray in his Death Battle Fight with Optimus Prime
Gundam
Theme Song: Fly! Gundam
Abstaining: Gundam is one of the pioneering anime series that inspired a lot of other shows in japan including Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, and what have you? the series is still very popular to this day with it garnering multiple series', it's own video games, and crossovers too.

Gundam's connection with Warner Brothers comes from Toonami were the programmed aired the original series "Mobile Suit Gundam" aswell as Gundam SEED, G Gundam, and the most famous of them all apparently Gundam Wing. Warner Brothers also has Amuro Ray's Gundam Mech-Suit "The RX-78-2 Gundam" in Ready Player One were it served as one of the transformations from one of the players facing against Mecha-Godzilla from the villain "Nolan Sorrento"

From what's been explained here Gundam is apparently owned by Bandai Namco fully which sounds like it could be an easy deal to get the rights to use gundam in multiversus even if they were to ask permission for another anime serise they have the game rights for such as Goku or Luffy.

My Reasoning for Abstaining is due to not being familiar to Gundam, i've heard of it and my brother has seen it a bit(he's watching the original series on Netflix too in japanese, the english dub isn't there because apparently there's rights issues with it so....no english amuro in multiversus i guess?) but i haven't, though a anime mech fighter would be cool to have in multiversus, Gundam would be sweet but i prefer seeing The Evas and Simon in the game.

"Haha, Who's afraid of ghosts?"
Goober

Theme Song: Intro for Goober And The Ghost Chasers
Abstaining: Goober's one of the last scooby-doo! copies that Hanna-Barbera has done and from what i can tell is considered the worse of the bunch(Jellystone even supports this).

The only other appearances he's had was Jellystone were he and the ghost chasers were trying to catch some ghost but turns out they were the really rottens disguised as them though, i've never seen goober before though maybe i may consider watching the show unless i hear a review talk about how bad it is then i may be cautious or abstain, but if goober appears then maybe at best make a scooby color skin based off him if possible(originally i asked for a costume for an idea only to hear that goober's body size, characteristics, and an invisibility power differentiates him).

SWAMP THING! YOU ARE AMAZING!
Chance: 15%

Swamp Thing is a DC Comics character who usually works outside the standard team-up comic. Being a plant-based mutant, he could work as a Tank/Support hybrid.

Unfortunately, he does have competition with another plant-based DC character: Poison Ivy. Given how she's already been mentioned in Harley Quinn's interactions, it's a safe bet Pamela will get in before he does.

Want: 50%
Sure, I'd go for Swamp Thing in MultiVersus. He's a DC character who isn't from Gotham, which at least half the DC cast of MultiVersus hails from.

Sorry, that's not OK.
Chance: 2%

Wilt is a supporting character from the Cartoon Network hit Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. He was created by a basketball player who he saved from sports-related injuries. It took him decades to learn to live with it. And the name of this basketball player? Jordan Michaels.

That said, neither Mac nor Bloo are in MultiVersus yet, which lowers his chances. Even then, Wilt would rank lower than Eduardo and Frankie Foster when it comes to this show's roster spots. At least he has a better chance than Coco or Cheese.

Want: 55%
Being a main character on a Cartoon Network show gives some points to the wanting scale, especially from something that isn't a 2010s original or a Cartoon Cartoon. Some untapped potential from the 2000s, I'd say. Heck, considering his backstory, Lebron James finally has a legit partner in the game if Wilt got in.

Wilt

Chance: 20%

This is, ultimately, how I view the chances of getting a Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends character in general. That's right; that means that I really do believe that IF we get a Foster's character, it will absolutely be Wilt. Why is that? Time for the write-up.

First off, why 20% for Foster's in general? Ultimately that has to do with my conservative scores across the board with characters and franchises with nothing in the data yet. However, out of the current no-shows, I actually think Foster's is in a really good spot. The IP is still being used, what with the Foster's Nursery preschool spinoff in the works, and historically it's an incredibly important Cartoon Network IP.

Craig McCracken sought to evoke within Foster's the same feeling as The Muppet Show, arguably its biggest inspiration: an ensemble cast of colorful weirdos with goofball humor and a range of personalities that could appeal to both kids and adults. And in that regard, he succeeded! Probably to a degree that's much more than people realize. Craig McCracken has been on the record saying that Foster's long life on the network (with six seasons and three TV movies) was all thanks to just HOW well the show did in ratings across a variety of demographics, to the point where reruns of older episodes were doing better than some contemporary shows' new episodes. He said they described it as the "workhorse" of the network. And if you look back at that era, it WAS everywhere. Foster's famously took part in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for three consecutive years, culminating in 2009's particularly memorable moment when out from the Foster's float emerged Rick Astley, who Rickroll'd the country on national television.

That aside, while I hope I've made clear the sort of pedigree Foster's has as a franchise, what about Wilt? Why Wilt in particular?

One important thing to remember is that Foster's is an ensemble show. Technically speaking, there are eight characters who the show itself considers main characters: Bloo, Mac, Wilt, Eduardo, Coco, Frankie, Mr. Herriman, and Madame Foster. That being said, I'm of the belief that a Mac and Bloo tag team won't happen. That style of tag fighter isn't the kind of thing this game does. They didn't glue Jake to Finn, or Morty to Rick. They even made the conscious decision to separate Stripe from Gizmo when they were originally together. The two instances of characters being together are Tom and Jerry, who explicitly have the gimmick of fighting each other, and the upcoming Powerpuff Girls, who are seemingly a Pokémon Trainer-esque swapping character (likely possible due to their shared, simple body type). If a Foster's character gets in, it likely won't be a tag team.

So with that, I go to the next point: the character will certainly be an Imaginary Friend, and not a human. So with that we can knock off Mac, Frankie, and Madame Foster. So that leaves Bloo, Wilt, Eduardo, Coco, and Mr. Herriman. Mr. Herriman I think can also be written off, if only out of respect to Tom Kane, who retired from voice acting after a tragic stroke. Recasting is possible, but considering just how iconic his voice was, it may be worth it to opt for a different character if possible.

Wilt is, over all, more prominent than either Eduardo or Coco. Notably, Wilt is the third most recurring character, appearing in all but two episodes (and he's mentioned in one of them). For reference, Bloo is in every episode while Mac is in all but one. After Wilt, the next most recurring character (Eduardo) drops down to four missed episodes. In addition, Wilt's status as a fan favorite character was able to net (no pun intended) him a TV movie all to himself: Good Wilt Hunting, which showcased his backstory. The fact that Foster's had three TV movies, one of which was the pilot, and another was meant to be the finale (though Destination Imagination ended up airing before Goodbye to Bloo), the fact that the third TV movie is a movie dedicated to Wilt shows that he's a character with a lot of pull.

To add onto this, Wilt is pushed a ton in the marketing. He's literally the second character (after Mac) that you see in the show's intro, and the first Imaginary Friend. When Cartoon Network celebrated Black History Month with an image showcasing some of the network's black characters, he was prominently featured, alongside Numbuh Five, Sunny Bridges, Darwin, and fellow Multiversus character Garnet. He was given a prominently-displayed statue at the now-closed Cartoon Network Store at the Atlanta CNN Center. And this prominence is not without reason: among fans of the show, Wilt tends to rank on fan rankings as the show's most or second most popular character, fluctuating back and forth with Frankie for first. Again, he got his own movie for a reason.

In addition, his voice actor, Phil LaMarr, is already attached to Multiversus, which is an added boon.

Wilt's biggest obstacle toward getting in is, naturally, Bloo, the show's de facto main character. However, Multiversus has shown that this isn't always cut and dry. Most famously, in the case of another ensemble cast, Scooby-Doo is still nowhere to be seen, while both Shaggy AND Velma are on the roster. Neo isn't here, but we have Agent Smith. We know that we'll soon be getting Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch, but Lydia Deetz and Dorothy Gale are complete no-shows in the data. Bugs Bunny was in since day one, but we ended up getting both Taz and Marvin before Daffy Duck. Harley got into the game before Joker showed up, while Shazam is still nowhere to be seen despite Black Adam getting into the beta. Opting for Foster's second most prominent Imaginary Friend instead of the first wouldn't be unheard of.

This next part may be a bit subjective, but I feel it's worth bringing up. Bloo...is significantly harder to make "pop" in the context of a fighting game. Given that he's mostly a snarker, his physical capabilities leave a lot to be desired. A paddle ball attack can only bring him so far. Comparatively, Wilt, and even Eduardo and Coco, have much more to work with, both with their physical abilities, as well as their body types, all of which are much more suitable for a game like this than...a short, squat, thumb-shaped guy. Bloo's body type really doesn't lend itself well to this in comparison.

And this next bit is speculative, but I actually think the announcement of Foster's Nursery works AGAINST Bloo, at least a bit. Given that this show is intended for preschoolers, they seem to be toning Bloo down to match that audience. Of note, Bloo and Madame Foster are confirmed to be the ONLY returning characters. Mac, Wilt, Eduardo, Coco, Frankie, and Mr. Herriman all seem to be absent. It's possible that the higher-ups may not want to push the classic Bloo, who famously did things like getting another imaginary friend deported after blaming a prank on them, when they plan on retooling him for very young children. And in that scenario, it makes sense to add a character who WON'T be in the new show: a character like Wilt.

Genuinely, I think Wilt makes by far the most sense as a character to represent Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, given that he's a prominent and iconic fan favorite who also offers a lot in terms of moveset variety.

Also he'd get to have really fun dialogue with LeBron James, and that's too good to pass up.

Want: 100%
I mentioned during Tracy Turnblad's day that she and Wilt are my two most wanted characters for the game, and that remains true here. Growing up, Wilt was an immediate favorite of mine. Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends started airing when I was eight, and finished its run when I was thirteen, so I was the exact demographic the show was trying to reach at the time. But as I got older, Wilt definitely stuck with me. He has been my favorite Cartoon Network character since his debut, and the show holds up very well to this day (not perfectly, mind you, since it WAS a show made in 2004, but it's aged better than most). I'd love to see him in Multiversus.

Abstaining from Swamp Thing.

Half of my nominations to T.O.M. from Toonami, and the other half to Don Lockwood
