I only watched the first one because I can't really watch Sonic dittos without a piece of me dying on the inside. I also noticed it was wifi so it's REALLY hard to gauge skill with what you've got there. I tried wi-fi again the other night and I'm pretty sure I lost to a 6th grader or something because I couldn't adjust to the lag. I've also never really fought an insanely good bowser (Almost fought sliq but ran out of friendlies time)

From what I saw though your playstyle seemed similar to my one friend who although he's really good, he never plays Sonic so he never does well with Sonic. Just enter a tourney or two and do tons of friendlies against tons of people to see how you do, that's about the only way to find where your skill level is.

I live in England, tourneys are rare, plus I'm to busy to find one. The way I play offline and online is the same except I'm more accurate offline. I can say the lag didn't effect me that much in those matches.

Edit: Basically wifi affects my grab miss rate, reactions, punishment, speed and defence.

I'd say like a 6.5 on a scale of 1 being complete noob and 10 being shugo. Personally, I'd say be more aggressive and know the spacing a little better. Against that bowser you kept charging down b and he'd use fire and you'd stay there. Use that technique ( I don't know the names of them I just do them) where you let go of down b and immediately hit attack and it launches you in a diagonal angle at your opponent. You also missed quite a few opportunities to attack ( I only watched the bowser ones)

In general I'd say use less d-airs, more b-airs and moar tilts. I personally like to replace tilts with jab combos but that's just because I'm lazy and it suits my playstyle.

I'm more curious against Bowsers, yeah I'm working on spacing. I use the flames for quarter circle DI though I keep forgetting to spin shot.

Thanks, but I advise you to watch all the matches though for a better idea :(

Yeah i watched the dittos and it looked like you needed to space better like your f-air o: its dangerous if you use it carelessly and switch up your grab game. Other than that it looks like your doing pretty good. :p

This is mainly going to be from what I've found when we have our matches...they aren't really Sonic related, their more general points

1. If something doesn't work, don't always try and do it again and again

Prime example was spindash abuse and I constantly ground floated Naired you out of them. If something doesn't work the first, second or third time, chances are it's not going to work again. In our recent matches, I found myself doing the exact same and consquently I did much worse. Mix it up now and then. Stop and think what you else you can do

2. Roll only when you think you need to

Sonic is fast enough to escape from a lot of things. This is a general thing for any character - by rolling, you limit your options. By walking/running, you open up a lot more options than if you're stuck in rolling ending. Sonic's roll isn't fantastic and I still find myself from time to time tech chase grabbing you. Only roll if you think you're going to get hit or when no other option will do

3. STOP USING HOMING ATTACK

I love landing sweet spotted, partially/fully charged Up Smashes with Peach - I'm not going to lie since I don't get to land them very often. Don't use it for recovery ever unless you are 99.9% sure you will get away with it

I would say you're better than you it shows in those videos but those are things I've picked up on. You are always improving when I fight you though so keep up the good work

3. STOP USING HOMING ATTACK
I love you.
No homo, Peach boarder <3

Especially don't use it against Sonic mainers who should know how ridiculously punishable it is.

What I really like is your usage of the Down B "timeout". Not many Sonic's use it that I've seen, but it's pretty cool.

Also, I really do recommend you try and find someone locally to Smash with. You're in the area of the biggest Smash scene in England, though admittedly it's mostly melee.

Online and offline Brawl are totally different games to me.

Alright then, working on it.

Thanks Roy but what do you mean by time out?

yeah, very defensive.

TOO defensive IMO.

attack moar, homing attack less.
I play defence against Bowsers because of bad experiences, coughmistakescough.

u dont attack enough chis. play sonic without the b button for like 2 days....and u will b alot better off.
I know, I wish I had some video vs Rick's Peach, I'm really aggreavie then, thanks everyone so far :bee:

after watching how much you use side b in some of your matches, i find it hard to beleive people could get better by not copying how you play lol

I'd say... you don't use enough grabs, you wait too much... and you need to use homing attack less.

Chis:
I'll rate your videos if you get any that aren't from a red lag connection lol.

Try playing 2-stock matches with people closer to you if you don't have anyone offline/video stuff of your own.

hey chis there is someone named RATS here is his video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blLij6YRJTg

kinda scary.......to me anyways
exactly i am practicing his ways
he just plays smart (example "look, i'm running towards you, you're probably gonna roll towards me, so I'm gonna roll back and F-smash you"), and his opponent doesn't know wtf to do with the matchup. He just takes advantage of opponent bad habits while throwing around moves that seem 'random'.

Also, it's wifi. Fakeouts and taking advantage of player-habit-reflexes, especially via side-B feints are somewhat more effective on wifi, as long as you call the move before it happens.

I take 5:23 as my proof. The Fox missed the tech on the ledge and airdodged instead.

Either that, or the Fox just sucks and doesn't know the matchup :<

ITS ME! WOOT!
that was cool. i gotta get more vids of me up, man. the lag killed us, though Chis. Not one of our best...needs some green/blue connections. i coundn't punish accordingly, and my setups were off. Wifi lag burns.
i gotta get more replays and send them to Sonikku.

Eh, those matches are against some pretty bad people. Stop playing against people that make you look good no matter what you do and the weaknesses in your playing style will become more apparent.

On the whole I felt that some of your spindash approaches were direct and obvious. Any decent player should have been punishing you a lot more. Also, you were spindash jumping off the edges a lot and reflexively using an aerial; which is probably a bad habit. Most people are probably going to be too slow to punish it, but when you're that predictable who knows.

On the bright side, you seem to have a good grasp of how to work Sonic's grab game into your play-style, which I really liked.

Yea, you should try out Up Tilt more Chis. I hate that move when playing as Peach :/ Try throwing in an Up Smash every now and then as well

Ironically, thanks to Tenki's thread I know how to deal with spindashes much better now. You spindash a lot and whilst it's not such a bad thing...well spindashes are fairly punishable. Also, you end up air trip killing yourself :(

If you think it'll get you somewhere, spam spaced Bairs against Peach. They can work wonders

Vs Zelda: Don't be afraid to spotdodge! I fight Kataefi quite regularly as well and I've found that the only reason that ruddy F Smash of hers lasts so long is because it's connecting with my sheild. Shield the first few inital hits of the F Smash, then spotdodge and punish her. Give it a try sometime

Also, may I post these in the Peach Video Archive?
