Random Tripping

I think Sakurai has a ton of pride in the random element of the SSB franchise, and adding tripping was his way of adding to the chaos. He pretty much despises the "pro" scene for basically playing 0.0000001% of his game. I can really appreciate all the crazy elements, all stages, all hazards, all items, all characters...but tripping was REALLY a terrible idea.

Brawl was intended to be casual ever since Sakurai saw Melee being played at at such a high level of play, so tripping was the perfect addition to stop those pesky competitive players from "ruining" Brawl.

In my opinion the addition of the mechanic was way too destructive. I played Melee casually (as a party game and whatnot) for hundreds of hours when I was a kid. Tripping not being in future Smash Bros iterations is evidence it's just bad!

They just tried to completely rip the competitive aspect from smash, instead of balancing it, pretty ****ty decision.
