Really hard to do for me honestly, especially since I generally play older games. Can I do it without necessarily put games that came out those years ?
2010 : Can't remember exactly. Maybe Wario Ware Do It Yourself (first contact with game development) (2010 in Europe) and Minecraft (I'm pretty sure I started playing it that year or in 2009)
2011 : Metal Gear Solid 2 (pretty sure I did not play anything really new at the time, I discovered this game that year and holy this was a blast, still one of my top 3 ever to this day). Also Xenoblade Chronicles, solid entry (came in Europe in 2011). I also replayed a lot of DS games at this time, and played some 3DS ones. Life was easy as a teenager...
2012 : Fallout 3 (I hated Skyrim and prefered this one) and Final Fantasy X.
2013 : Can't remember clearly. Probably Hotline Miami (tough I think I played it later).
2014 : Off (an amateur game that came out way before 2014...).
2015 : Metal Gear Solid V... Damn it's been five years already...
2016 : Did not played anything new or really relevant this year, to much to do with studies. I played a lot of Heartstone but honestly, I regret doing so.
2017 : Breath of the Wild
2018 : Dark Souls. I actually started to play it in 2016 but dropped it, and it's only then I realised how good it was. Another of my top 3 of all time.
2019 : Smash Bros Ultimate (got it day one in 2018 but it would put Dark Souls away).
Some honorable mentions : Somewhere between 2013 and 2015 I discovered Dwarf Fortress, great game. I also replayed Animal Crossing on DS and discovered it on 3DS (way after release) in 2017. Other Metal Gear Solid marked me but I did not played them as much as the 2nd and the 5th (even tough I prefer the 4th to it).
I helped myself with these pages from wikipedia :

Apart from Smash, we don't have many in common on this thread.
