Question about Wii U scart cable.

I was wondering if it was possible to use the scart cable that comes with the Wii U (I don't have a Wii U yet) for the Wii? We got a new HD tv recently and the scart slot is positioned in a way the original Wii scart cable (the three coloured cables) can't fit into it.

In case you're wondering, I can't just use the SD tv because it broke down.

I was thinking of getting an up to date replacement scart cable for my Wii, but if the one that comes with the Wii U works with the Wii too I might wait until I get a Wii U, use the cable and then transfer all my save data then.

Wii U only comes with an HDMI cable, but has the slot for RCA, SCART, etc. However, I think you're talking about composite, not SCART.

You have to use proprietary cables for SD connections because they aren't standardized like HDMI.
