@ Kasy-wazy.

Sure, I mean, the fun side of this gameis why I play too.

I mean, who doesn't love starting a FFA and turning all items on? I know I do.

Sometimes though you gotta just get down to it and go.

Why the **** would you ban MK.
I mean just as vyse said. Everyone was sooking about shiek in melee, But then everyone got over it and learned how to be her.

Now I don't have much experience... but from what I have played MK can be dodged very easily with even the heaviest characters. Multiple Air dodges make it easier now than what it was in melee.

An SBR matchup chart that has had voting indicates that the MK vs MK matchup is 50/50 and every other character in the game is at minimum, 55/45 in MK's favour (that being the GAW and Snake matchups only, the rest of the cast is 60/40 or beyond). It's not a calculation based off tournament results rather the analysed character vs. character.

What this tells you is that, whilst MK is not absurdly cheap, there is no natural weak matchup for him. In his weakest matchups he still has a slight advantage. The tier list was to a large degree determined by tournament results and the weight of significant results as well, so there's little point in throwing up a bunch of random results where MK doesn't win.

Some Texas tournament has opted to temp ban MK in hopes of assuming the rest of the cast will pick up their metagame. As you all know Italy just outright banned MK. And from what I understand, Sydney is scheming something rather clever to blanket MK somehow and Melbourne just threw a ton of stages to increase the variables. LOL @ things. :)

@ _X_: SO YOU SHOULD! D: <<< NOW GET ON YOUR KNEES! <3 :D

@ Anthony: You don't have to prove your point so ruthlessly... We all know Metaknight isn't ALWAYS going to win, we do now, however, as Dave(Cao) just said, that MK is definately the 'best' character in the game, therefore we hate him. Same goes with Sheik, we all hate her because she's broken.

@ Hayzeus: You realise, from your second sentence, that you just said that 'we all hate MK but we will all learn to be MK... therefore...'? Therefore everything will be ok? Lol no.
Edit:-- Actually I think you meant to say 'we learnt how to "BEAT" her"? In that case, yes, we did learn, and yes, Brawl has just come out so we are still learning how to do things. I don't think people 'really' mean to ban MK they just would RATHER he wasn't used so much. But I think if he was used a lot then we'd be able to learn to get around him?--
Also 'every' character is 'easy to dodge', as I said it's all based on mindgames. MK just has an easy way of waiting for someone to air-dodge and then attack ASAP. Other characters might be too slow? MK can just up-B and you're basically dead and since it's so instant it's pretty easy to just wait for an air-dodge, and if MK does miss he can still hit you with his aerial from his glide? So it's 'slightly' hard to miss with him. BUT AGAIN, yes, he's 'dodge-able' but as you know with his D-smash out of shield, Up-B, aerials 'and' his neutral-B which most people can't hit... he's basically made out of ghey. c:

@ Greenstreet: That's awesome. o: Now come clubbing with me. <3

@ Nick + Michael: Hott. I would have won with Cr@ptain Falcon. >:C

I LOVE AZEN. GO LUCARIO! <3

POST QBB DIRECTION.

As we enter the post QBB phase of QLD smash we need to really decide the directions in which we want to take it. I really advise everyone to go light- until about mid november when academic duties become less taxing for all the students (of which there are a few).

QLD needs to decide:

A) whether we want monthlies with no cash prizes
B) whether we should host a follow up to QBB and how soon.
C) what we should do about all the new members, in terms of making them feel welcome and accommodate them with crew ideas.

Some of us need to decide whether we invest the extra time to improve our game, whether that be technical or mental. QLD is somewhat in the spotlight, lets keep our share going.

Brisbanites: We need to come together a little bit and decide what the state capital is going to do about tournament hosting. We need possible venues ect to be discussed if we are to hold tournaments of the calibur of QBB, which is not difficult, if just hard to stop being lazy.

Ill use this post to say thanks to 3 people. Cao, DJcat and vyse.

Cao, your input in tournament organising and australias brand of brawl is very welcomed and much appreciated. You really do help new things get off the ground. Kudos.

DJcat: your the rock of QLD, you really do so much for us as a comminuty, you deserve thanks.

vyse: your hardwork does not go unnoticed.

as is the intended purpose of this cluttered post, please discuss the further direction of qld smash. stop the whining, and lets make some **** happen.

also, I know I suck at brawl, so dont tell me anything I dont already know:)

A) We want monthlies without cash prizes to increase accessibility.

B) We want a follow up to QBB. But it's a long term goal. Next year I'm thinking.

C) I've already discussed something of that matter with you, but the issue of starting up a monthly circuit is what needs to be addressed first.

I think I was addressing more the issue of whether we want to play for money each month or not lol.

Thanks Yokai. I'll see if I can put in my 2 cents in regards to some things.

A) If Smash was about money, there wouldn't be a Smash Scene in Australia. In my opinion, money is a form of corruption and an obsession that destroys the elements which people came to play Smash for in the first place. The American Smash scene is disgusting and nasty, and it appears as if many are not enjoying themselves, playing only to win money. Monetary rewards serve as a nice bonus, or a fund to attract those out of state (but for the purposes of having local tournaments, it's not relevant).

B) It'll be handy to consider dates that don't conflict with other things and also planned way in advance so people can fly for cheaper. It's probably a good idea to ask Mic to set you up a poll to get an idea of preferred dates.

C) I'm on the fence about rotating the Gold Coast and Brisbane, because it would be more complicate to execute. Relying on another TO is a gamble, and I think local tournaments are better having a permanent home-base. If it's going to be the Gold Coast, people are going to trust that and not have to worry about other venues and other tournament organisers every month. It'll keep things more under control. Vyse wouldn't have to run it every single month either. Just adopt the lassiez-faire approach and let the bracket unfold itself; the regulars will step in and take control (such as the other Ward members + Chris) if necessary. It's meant to be relaxed. Spearding the load is important and everyone would be mature and responsible enough to know when they need to help out.

About crews - forcing people into crews is excellent, but a system to mix up everyone every month is probably something you'd want to persue. Unpopular people will still feel left out if crews are permanent, and local tournies should give people the chance to be under the wing of those they look up to and not have to worry about being excluded all the time.

More about money - If do decide to charge, perhaps consider starting a Smash Bank. Sydney and Melbourne have one, and the community can decide what to do with it when the time comes. It'll provide the community with extra mobility should you require it.

I do completly agree with you on the Crews aspect, its a very good idea indeed.

as for the rotation, I just... Its hard for a lot of people being a binary city area.

your thoughts on money? your preaching to the choir. :)

thanks heaps, your contributions are very valued.

EDIT: A SMASH BANK! what a brilliant idea, Id never thought of that lol.

Hmm.
Maybe you're right.

Perhaps rotating between GC and Bris may not be necessary.
I'm sure the others will help me get the ball rolling in GC until such a time that somebody wishes to step up in Brisbane.

I think when we start seeing tournaments in both cities, we'd have to start co-scheduling.

Mmm, your 2 cents are always welcome in here Cao.
I think I know what needs to be done now.

Oh well. I guess he's just.. Different
anthony go to sleep

James get better and you would get a higher spot in crews

ATM there is simply not enough people who are able to get to these meets for crews to be swapped up into 20 billion sections

Untill there is enough people 2 atm is FINE

Altho even that is on the rocks seeming as zac has given up on (suprise suprise) and i havent even heard from juggy in a long time

Kas wont come caus it cost money lololololololol

but then again if people didnt pay for me neither would i.

<3 michael

Now james it is a good idea in theory having multiple crews BUT WE DO NOT HAVE THE NUMBERS FOR SAID IDEA

Stop trying to push it and move on.

On the topic of monthly meets it would be hard to find someone willing to host 10+ people for a day and those of you living with parentals would have a even harder time trying to host.

My view on meta knight is that simply he is outragously cheep and comparing him to sheik is like comparing Street fighter 2 to street fighter 3 THEY ARE TOTALLY DIFFERNT THINGS

Just a slightly differnt play style

Now honestly atm you all look at some one you vsing and the first thing that comes to your mind is "Fcuking metaknight" (<3 you chriiiiiiis) at least i do. Now remember back in the day of our short lived KOF days where i played Shinon (If you know remotley what im talking about now your awesome) YOU WERE ALL IN TEARS ABOUT IT. After swimming out of the ocean of tears that came out at me I used another character. I didnt say man up or stoop sookin. I ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE ***** WAS CHEAP and decided to play another character that was a challenge

K' (kay dash) I heart him too

Wall of text and bad grammer crits you for 5k

Now what else is there we are all complaining about

*Scrolls*

If i remember we HAD biweekles going but the person organizing it got like laid or something and vanished and that was the end of that story. </3 u bryce

Also back at james STOP SOOKIN get better and you will raise in rank in the crew

DUUUURRRRRR I FOLLOW SMASH BACK ROOM BECAUSE THEY ARE PERFECT DUUUUUUUR

HOW ABOUT WE THINK FOR OURSELVES FOR ONCE OPEN UP DISCUSSION TO POSSIBLE STAGE ALLOWENCE LIKE CAO SUGGESTED. It really isnt that hard to go against the flow

Thats usually how things are found.

I forgot to mention that the rotating crews would be 4-man. That works in a SE or DE bracket depending on time. You'd only need a turnout of at least 16 for it work perfectly and if it's any less, just assign 2 captains let them pick out all of the players from the flock, like on the high school football ground until no one is left, and have 1 crew battle.

Undead Moose - are you one of the precious few that have realised the American SBR ruleset is a giant pro-MK stamp of approval? It's a farce. Take Chris to Eldin, he's terrified of that stage. Horizontal walk-offs render MK's recovery useless, and with no projectiles, you can control the match by camping in the middle of the stage with a projectile based character. In this scenario, his only viable killing options is upwards, which MK is overall fairly poor at. Shadow Moses is even better for this. I haven't even started with Corneria yet <3

seeing MK die in a 1 hit-KO from 0% is like the seeing a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow... <3

OMG SHINON WAS TOTALLY OP.

(except it's Chizuru Moose)

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=ULq4jsQ9vXo

^ Just one part of the OP.

I mean.

Just, wow.

She was so ****ing broken it wasn't funny.

I reckon you probably would have *****ed if I had good characters to back up my Kula in the early days. She wasn't PRO PRO, but she still gave a good *** whooping.

Imo the DDD rule is just a cover up.

TO STOP METAKNIGHT GETTING GIMPED HORRIBLY.

CONTROVERSY.

Imo lets play KoF at our next meet Nick.

MK vs. Dedede is 60/40 in MK's favour, and that's without the D3 rule.

Not like that lol.

I meant, most of the stages that are or have been banned with the D3 rule in mind.

I.e Eldin.

I mean, imagine if Eldin was neutral stage.

EDIT: I say we unban stages that are helpful to us beating MK.
