Pokedex Entry said:
While lulling its enemies with its vacant look, this wily Pokémon will use psychokinetic powers.
For those of us who used to watch the Pokemon Show back in the good old days when it was good (or we were stupid) you will defiantly remember and recognise Psyduck straight away. He was one of if not the most memorable character from the show. He was always funny and made light of every situation no matter how tense.
Psyduck in the anime got himself caught by Misty, that's right she didn't catch him, he caught her. He also let himself out of his Pokeball whenever he wanted to (a trait later stolen by Wobbofet) much to the frustration of Misty. In the oddest situation he would be very helpful to Misty using powerful psychic moves such as disable, confusion and Psychic while failing to use simple moves such as Tail Whip and Scratch.
But none the less Misty loved her Psyduck, probably more than any of her other pokemon even if she didn't always show it, he always saved her and protected her when she needed it.

Can you feel love?

In the games however Psyduck did play the same role as all of the other pokemon but so did Jigglypuff and if her anime popularity can get her in than his should too considering it's about double the size of hers.

Moveset
B - Disable - Psyduck sends forth a purple beam which when hits the foe does no damage but stops them from using one of their four moves at random for a breif period of time, only one move can be disabled at a time.

B > - Water Pulse - This move is a cross between Squirtle's Water Gun and his own confusion. Psyduck sends forth a blast of water, which does minimal damage but has fair knockback, it also has a 1/4 chance of having the affect of confusion!

B ^ - Psych up - It's use here is a little different to that in the games but on a similar note. Psyduck hypnotizes itself into copying any B^ move from another character at random. This could be anything from Diddy's to Zamus'. It's completly random.

B v - Confusion - Psyducks sends foward another purple beam which when hits the enemy also does no damage but a big question mark appears over their head and they damage themselves, also the controls are made backwards (left becomes right etc. etc.)

Final Smash - Misty - An anime refrence yes but oh well. Psyduck starts out by saying Psyduck like he does in the show and then in the background we see a furious Misty, but she's not angry at Psyduck she's angry at his foes! Misty throws 9 pokeballs which contain her other pokemon Goldeen, Staryu, Starmie, Horsea, Politoed, Corsola, Gyarados, Caserin and Azurill which do an onslaught of damage.

Additional Notes
I do know that he probably won't be in but he does need some recognition for being as popular and well known as he is, so here is his support thread, a moveset shall be posted later.

I've always supported Psyduck and Meowth for Brawl, the only reason Pikachu and the others got in was because of the anime.

Anyway, they should of added them before the rest, but after Pikachu. However, he's probably too old to be put in smash. I'm sure Sakurai will opt for the newer ones.

Psyduck is so superior to Jigglypuff it's not even funny. I wish he could coexist with Gardevoir in Brawl... he used to be my favourite Pokemon.
There was never another character anywhere my constantly headache-ridden self could identify with more. :(

I thought of the perfect Psyduck pokeball effect.

3/4 of the time when you throw a pokeball with Psyduck in it, it'll stare blankly around and not have any other effect.

1/4 of the time when you throw a pokeball with Psyduck in it, it'll use Psychic; lift up all characters in range and throw them outwords away from him ^_^ I think it'd do about 40% damage total.

That suits him perfectly! He also needs his anime voice and should say Psyduck all confused like! Also on his trophy it should have a little tidbit about how Misty abuses him :o

For those two that dissed Darkrai...

You fail. No, I mean it. There are starving children who laugh at you now.

All because you called Darkrai stupid/dilusional.
Darkrai stands no chance at being a playable character period, at least Psyduck is recognisable and has a personality.

Darkrai doesn't have a personality? And you know this because you watched the 10th movie, right? XD

And you were making fun of Darkrai fans. Psyduck was so popular he appeared as a Poke Ball Pokemon...oh wait...he didn't. =l Neither SSB or Melee. Psyduck clearly isn't as popular as you think.

He was popular back in the day when Pokemon had it's mainstream popularity, do you even remember back when the show was good? Seeing as how it sucks now and is totally unwatchable unless you are four or ********...

Of course I remember when the show. But your statement is completely opinionated, as many would argue that the show has gotten way better since then. But I won't get into that. I just don't think Psyduck is a good rep for Pokemon at all. A water type that uses psychic attacks...we already have Squirtle for water and Mewtwo is the ultimate Psychic Pokemon, so why would we want Psyduck? Misty doesn't even travel with the main cast anymore, and the most popular Pokemon in her possession was easily Togepi, so....yeah. Sorry, but I definitely do not agree with this character suggestion.

Well since nobody watches the show anymore I don't think that it matters. And no way was Togepi more popular than Psyduck, he was always the most popular. Him Meowth and Pikachu were the main pokemon on that show, Jiggs was recurring but not as important.
Psyduck was the best pokemon on that show, everybody knows it.

xianfeng seriously has a point. if meowth manages to get in and pokemon still has a space, i wouldnt be doubting psyduck.

as for darkrai (and arceus) by the time they were announced officially, the roster was already selected.

Yes, nobody watches the show anymore. Which is why it's somehow one of Cartoon Network's highest rated shows, and in Japan it regularly beats out popular anime over here such as Naruto Shippuden, Death Note and Bleach.

Psyduck was nowhere near a main character. It was just an occasional, annoying piece of comic relief. Pikachu and Meowth, they are definitely main characters. Jigglypuff...she was a side character that was at the very least consistent until the Hoenn series, where her story came to an end....but Psyduck is one of those characters who just couldn't keep up. Togepi was definitely more popular than Psyduck. Being the second G/S Pokemon appearing as early as 50 episodes in, being a baby Pokemon and having a ton of mystery surrounding it, I'd dare to say that Togepi had way more attention than Psyduck ever did, and it will continue to be popular with its new evolution.

What the hell since when does Togepi evolve? I thought you said Misty doesn't travel with them anymore! Your confusing me, I would watch the show but the cliche storylines, horrible voices and the fact that ash is on screen for over 90% of the time really pisses me off.
Also has anyone ever noticed how totally in love with Gary Ash is? I have, he seems to fawn over him ever episode he's in, pretty weird.

its one of CN's highest rating shows because the majoritory of their shows suck... and alot of babies watch CN
i admit that i watch CN, but thats only for the anime. there is no other way to watch anime down under.
i've auctually been turning off the TV when pokemon is the only thing on. thats how boring its become.

i mean i even find the battles boring! i didnt know that was possible until it auctually happened

Misty did leave the main cast, but she came back temporarily a few times, one of which involved the release of her Togepi, who evolved into its next form, Togetic. The newest generation of Pokemon gives Togetic a new evolution called Togekiss (as seen in my sig). So it's pretty obvious Misty may come back once more for a small bit since she was the only one to ever have a Togepi.

And in case you were curious, Misty never happens to bring Psyduck when she visits. Psyduck just spends its days at the gym drowning like always.

Ok also why the hell isn't she a part of the main cast? She was awsome! I hope they haven't replaced her with the slutty Female PT from Pokemon DP because her skirt was way too short!

Also I made this thread to remanisce about how awsome Pokemon was when I was five, don't come in here and **** on my memories!

you mean this girl?

they did
you see, when your show starts to suck, your only solution is to introduce more obvious jailbait

also, by the time nintendo figured out that they would eventually need to use jailbait, it was too late and it was already confirmed that the protaginists had to all be small kids.
and hence, that is how this perky revealing little girl was created. all i cant figure out is why they didnt emphasize this girls breasts... can anyone figure out an answer for that? sure, she is young but most animated shows dont realise that sort of stuff
