PSA Chars are for normal brawl or brawl plus?

Depends on the character. It'll usually asay in the OP whether they were designed to be used with vBrawl or Brawl+.

Depends on the creator's intention. Some make PSA characters for standard Brawl while others do so to work in Brawl+. They can play in both games, but if they are specifically made for one game (like Roy was made for Brawl+), they may end up either crappy or broken in the other.

Don't really notice any difference if a PSA was used in Brawl+ or not, so I just use Brawl+.

Silly question, but how do you use PSA characters in vbrawl? Don't you have to access the codes through gecko which in turn will activate the brawl+ codes?

I only play Brawl+ as VBrawl and BBrawl are way too slow for my tastes. XD

I enjoy them in B+ more :3

If you really would like, just get that gcteditor that ChiboSempai made, then make a new .gct with everything but the brawl+ codes.

PSA characters can be designed for a single game, but work in both no matter what.

Characters like Wisp and Zero might have an extra version made for Brawl/Brawl+ like Roy and Manchu.

Wow. You really think gecko was made solely for brawl+?

These brawl+ idiots who have no idea what they're talking about in the smash workshop and think everything is centered around brawl+ drive me crazy. Why don't we have a brawl+ forum to shove them all in?

Because the Smash Workshop was originally made for Brawl+. We were here first. In fact, we were here before there was a Smash Workshop, and the Workshop is here because of us. The rest of y'all just came later. And the fact of the matter is that Brawl+ is one of the largest organized Wii Homebrew groups, both in terms of time and number of people. Not to mention that Brawl+ is definitely the largest game-specific hack (being the largest single hack on the most-hacked game helps), and subsequently the most common single use of GeckoOS there is.

DISCLAIMER: I got the second half of this info from Illinialex.

Most of what you said is wrong. First, the SSB4 thread (and make you move too probably) is the oldest thread on this board, so technically, all those other threads came later. Second, no, Brawl+ is not the biggest game-specific hack. There are these things called mods that came long before your Brawl+ came around. Ever heard of Counter-Strike?

Also, I would argue that this board was not made for just Brawl+ as you think it is. A lot of hacks for the game came out before Brawl+ did. The hacking world does not center around Brawl+ (most Smash fans hate Brawl+).

I like how both sides are tossing out information that's mostly wrong or extremely opinionated statements with little to back it up. LOL.

SSB4 and Make Your Move were moved to the Workshop from Brawl General Discussion when the workshop was created in February of this year. So were all the Brawl+ threads that had been made at the time, including Kupo's Code Agenda (made in November 08 and still around today).

And just ftr, MYM 1-3 are in BGD, while 4-6 are in the Workshop...and the Code Agenda was created 17 days before MYM 4

Second, no, Brawl+ is not the biggest game-specific hack. There are these things called mods that came long before your Brawl+ came around. Ever heard of Counter-Strike?
By game-specific, I meant for the Wii, sorry for not explaining that...but as far as console games in general go, i'd be surprised to find a game that more time and effort has been put into hacking.

Also, I would argue that this board was not made for just Brawl+ as you think it is.
EDIT: wait, whoops, wrong thread. I'll find the right one.
EDITEDIT: acually, it is the right one: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=220363
it was one of the first threads in the Workshop after the Workshop was created

Note that there are 3 sub-boards under brawl gd: smash workshop, brawl+ character discussion, and the hidden brawlplussery (workshop back room). 3 boards, the first of which was created after the brawl+ guys lobbied for it, and the other 2 are solely for brawl+.

A lot of hacks for the game came out before Brawl+ did. The hacking world does not center around Brawl+ (most Smash fans hate Brawl+).
Whether you like it or not, Brawl hacking would not be what it is today without Brawl+.

The hacking world pretty much does center around Brawl+.

Phantom Wings, Almas, Paprika Killer, and Spunit started making competitive codes. One of Phantom Wings' first codes was a hitstun modifier, and his first major breakthrough was the DX air dodge.

Not really. It might seem that way from the perspective of Smash Workshop, but the main hacking got done at the now-mostly empty GSCentral, and it was just for the heck of it. I remember seeing many other codes before those two you listed were released. (The whole idea of Brawl+ wasn't feasible until hacking Brawl reached its prime.)

Ok guys calm down now. Lol I didn't expect this to happen. But srsly I like brawl+, its pretty cool, but in my community its frowned upon. No one in Texas (except 1 guy besides me) plays brawl+. Brawl+ weakens your actual brawl skills. It makes you rusty, you lose muscle memory and build new muscle memory for brawl+. I played it off and on for like 2 weeks, and the next tourney I went to I did absolutely terrible. Also, it will never be as big as brawl.

But honestly, brawl hacking is not (and should not be) tailored for brawl+. There are many benefits to hacking while keeping it tourney legal. Just chill out guys.

Come to houston more often. B+ has a better base in Houston. :V
TX in general has quite a few people playing B+.

And no. Brawl hacking is not tailored for B+. It was more or less for fun, then when into Machinimas then textures, then you could argue B+.

It is true that a decent amount of codes were made for B+, and one of the main pushing forces and ultimately the deciding factor for the Workshop is Brawl+, but really. It's not all about B+.

I do believe that BBrawl might not even exist if it wasnt for B+ though. :V

Play a different character in plus or just play a character that doesnt operate differently. I can go from snake in vbrawl and brawl+ seamlessly tbh.

Lol I never play fox in brawl+, but I still get worse :p. Its just the overall physics.

I never knew there were b+ players in houston. Oh well, I doubt xyro would ever put on a b+ tournament, and tbh, I could care less lol.

It's a mindset thing. It's like players who play 2 similar games. Melee/Brawl, SF3/SF4, Tekken 1-3/Tekken 4-6, MvC / MvC 2

the list goes on.

Also, I doubt Xyro would host a B+ tourney, but considering he let's me bring my set ups for a whole day and I gather a small amount of people, Side Events are extremely possible. xD

I really just hate the increased hitstun of Brawl+. If there's one thing I hate in video games, it's being stuck and ***** for long periods of time. My friends have more opportunity to play Brawl rather than Brawl+ anyways.

The community could stand to make it clearer whether or not their characters are for Brawl, Brawl+, or both. Not just Smashboards, but Kittycorp and any other Brawl hacking communities. I installed Zero just recently and had no clue it was originally intended for B+.

but... he wasn't originally intended for B+. thats why there's a vBrawl and a brawl+ version. and even with v1.0 he was intended to be played in vbrawl. just because it s a hack doesn't mean you can just assume its meant for B+. the logic in that is just idiotic.

It wasn't -- it was originally intended for v/BBrawl. I just happened to get truckloads of B+ feedback.

EDIT: Woops, just realized I basically repeated FrozenPopo.

I will never allow B+ or BB as a side event or tourney. Play real brawl or go back to melee.
