I've contacted the person who made that WIP Ganon and gotten permission to use it in the project. I invited him to join the team but he declined -- his first priority is working on the KC-MM team, but he may have time to complete some more melee hacks in the future.

I believe the most important would be finishing Ganon, Fox, and Falcon, possibly with a bit of work muscularizing Boozer.

thank you for this. I don't see why shanus disagrees, you are both members of the team

I think what he was trying to say is that those of us already on the team are busy with more important gameplay changes, but if someone else was interested in joining to work on vertex/texture hacks that it could be included in an optional download, much like the possible SFX pack.

AGFanProduction, if you're interested let's see what you can do for Fox and Falco. Thanks.

nobody said the vertex/texture hacks had to be done now. But to be honest, i do think they are important and that they can be very appealing to Melee fans (only if it looks professional)

of course none of this prioritizes over gameplay but it should definitely be at the end of the "To Do List". Or simply recruit new team members to focus on cosmetics while gameplay mechanics are still under construction

Sorry guys, I had to take that lulzy G&W vs Kirby match down. But you'll be pleased to know that G&W is losing his instakill vuvuzela attack.

Exactly.

I'm not opposed to it, but at the same time I'm not going to exhaust resources on it when our specialty is in coding. A lot of people discount the sheer amount of work we do, (for example, camelot even fixes up characters beamsword animations...) I'm fine with an optional download pack, but in no way would package it with the main build since its graphically personal preference. If people make it, we will welcome them on. But, its a ton of work and I'm not sure many would want to pick up such a project after they saw how many characters needed completion. We don't want an incomplete package, eh? Especially an optional one :p

Hell, you saw how long it took to get a decent ganon vertex hack, now do it for the rest of the melee cast.

i understand completely thanks for the response:)
this was more for the characters like ganon and fox, especially fox. A lot of melee players hate foxes brawl design, myself included, so a downloadable pack in the future would be great if someones makes a good vertex hack for him.

Wow, the character resizing really made a difference. Always hated how big characters were in brawl. These videos are amazing. I used to be a doubter but now that more things have been fixed, the gameplay looks smooth and fun. Keep up the good work guys!
Where are these videos you all are talking about?? O_o;

NEVERMIND. Sorry. Missed that post. XD;

Aw man.

Did anybody else instantly turn on the vuvuzela button on YouTube as they watched that match?

What do you want...?
Movesets, Textures...?
I will do It
I already have a Melee Falco Vertex Hack/PSA and Movesets (Moveset Needs some bone Fixes!)
Fox just Needs a Melee Vertex Hack, (I not a Master Doing Vertex Hacks)

OK!

I just meant vertex hack / texture for the spacies. We've already been working on the movesets for a year.

I wouldn't mind vertex/texture hacks, but I'm a little hesitant.
One, if it can't stand up to the quality of Brawl's textures then it's no good. It seems to me that plugging a replica of, say, melee fox into any Brawl stage would look a little ridiculous, especially beside a Brawl textured character. As nice as Melee is, I think we can all agree that Brawl was a step up in terms of visuals.
Second (and more importantly), I would rather play a gameplay-sound P:M beta sooner than a gameplay-sound plus texture hacks P:M later.
(At this point I would prefer P:M as is now to having to wait for a more finished one later, but I daresay Shanus disagrees, haha)

Well, note that they aren't devoting any resources to visuals; they'll do that if they get someone specialized in it (like they do now). Otherwise, it's a complete waste and definitely not a priority.

Also, I do agree that the texture quality should be improved. I think we're mostly looking for the overall model feel; the texture quality can go to Brawl's limits instead of Melee's.

Um I know this is gonna sound a little dumb and maybe dumbfounded but are we going to be getting some of the stages / stage roster expansion along with this when it comes out just wondering? Just due to It looks like Mewtwo2000 on KC-MM finished his remake of Saffron City and I believe I seen a Hyrule Castle in 3d from the old 64 days as well. I dunno maybe to replace ****ty stages like Rainbow cruise etc? still cant believe that ****ty stage is legit at tourneys.

Anywho on to characters. I know its upto the team when to release vids of completed characters any idea on who/when the next character is gonna be? just wondering I think Mario or Falcon would be best just due to they look awesome.

Also I was playing smash64 the other day any chance Ness can get that PKT back? His distance is marvelous in that game.

Melee Fox looks a lot better than Brawl Fox but I agree with you.

It'd be cool if someone made a texture that was as close as possible to Melee Fox's look, but by still keeping it to the standards of Brawl graphics.

I am going to say it....I don't like the Taunt cancel. Especially on fast characters or characters with really high camp potential. I sense it is going to be the cause of many slammed/broken controllers and tv's.

I don't get why? You can't even taunt out of initial dash, you can only taunt out of wait1, (exit from crouch), run, walk.

So yeah, what?

Well Imagine Getting CP'd by Sonic to a big stage and he kills you once and then camps. He doesn't need a projectile or planking but he is capable of taunt-cancel camping a large portion of the cast. Having him running away from you saying YOUR TO SLOW! Just...idk. The match that they uploaded alone gave me a massive headache.

He runs away from you, and then the only way to taunt cancel again is run far away, pivot and run back (beyond dash). The only reason that match happened was because they let it happen back and forth on rumble falls....

It's no different then running back and forth without the taunting except with an extra sound effect.

Oh ok. Thanks for clearing that up. It can't tell these things because I haven't played the game yet. I will be traveling to Wilmington to stay with some friends for a bit. I may end up with some free time to travel to MD and maybe hook up with some ppl from there....idk if they decide to. Then we could perhaps do some testing. that would be nice!

anyway it is good to know that I can punch them in the mouth while they are doing that. That makes my nerves calm down quite a bit.

This is a Sonic problem, not a taunt problem.

being so bad that you can be camped by a character without a projectile and lacking in priority is definitely a personal problem.

You don't need a projectile to run away for an entire match. Once you've taken a stock or lead, you just need speed.
