I can't really say anything about Ice Climbers regarding balancing, considering I know very little about their metagame.
However, I do think vBrawl Fair had a nice idea behind it that could be adapted to Melee Fair, IE turn Nana's into a true spike.
That's about it.
Idk about Brawl, but they both meteor in Melee which seems more helpful. However, I do like the idea of giving them a spike, but for Popo's fair; not Nana's.

The reason being is that you can easily get a meteor out of a throw with IC's and not being able to meteor cancel that would be ridiculous. Another way Nana having the meteor would be more balanced is because both fairs connecting would result in a meteor trajectory since Nana hits second. This means that for the price of extra damage, the fair can be meteor cancelled.

In a sense, Popo losing Nana would then give him acess to an ability he normally wouldn't use/be able to use, which is a stronger gimp game. Something he needs as SoPo since he loses the damage output and imminent grab respect.

With the meteor cancel being times increased and making them more rewarding i don't think any more spikes would be needed in the game

I suggest Nana get the spike on the assumption that it's more difficult to hit with Nana's fair since you're not in direct control of her, and therefore hers should give the greater reward. But I don't actually know; if I'm wrong, oops.
The general idea of special options for tight control could of course be extended to other moves.

We've got Fly Amanita of all people in the PMBR - No offense guys, but I think we can figure out Ice Climbers on our own. :p

What are you talking about? That guy doesn't know anything about ICs.

Remember, the most important part is to keep Nana's stare. Don't ever get rid of it. Ever.

I hate to ask this cause I know it's really common.

Have you guys been able to work on a Roy character for P:M? Like creating a moveset n' stuff, just asking if it's possible cause' on youtube I see some crazy PSA mods with wild movesets. drsusredfish has his own collection of PSA hacks which are quite creative lol So that's why I ask.

The P:M trailer's comments are now like...

50% Brawl vs. Melee.

At least.

Man when will people get over this >_> I hope this isn't what future P:M-related vids will be clogged with.

By the way, tier-wise, are y'all bringing everyone up to falco/shiek, or are you bringing everyone to hi tier status like falcon?

I have a hypothetical question. Let's say Demo2 was completely done on the 13th (which I highly doubt, since there will always be bugs to fix). Would you release it then, or wait until the 15th?

eh that's people for ya....

But I am not from the PMBR but I think at one point they said they were trying to balance around falco/fox... I could be completely wrong though.

On topics of characters though whats going on with Metaknight? just curious.

Only 50%? I guess we are making some progress after all.
Sadly, it looks more like 80% >_>

Even if you have been following this thread since day one, and know whats up or posted hype on this thread... You should go like and get some nice comments on the trailer.;)

I remember the backroom expressing their desire to leave costume and music selections to the individual, but I second the idea of incorporating the Dr. Mario costume, out of respect/nostalgia for melee

I actually think that the less we add aesthetically to resemble melee, the less ammunition we give the haters.
it's frustrating that people are so ridiculous that this logic should even come up in the first place

People suck. This project has haters, but each one of them is one less close-minded person I'll have to deal with at tournaments in the long run.

I don't care whether or not it's Brawl, Smash TAS can be so much fun just because of DI abuse alone. Everything becomes a combo when you can combo yourself into it.

I agree with you, but that's also one less person that would contribute to attendance and potentially become another rising star in the community. With how far the metagame has developed, compounded with the haters, it's no wonder why it's hard to get a significant number of new faces at Melee tournaments these days.

To be perfectly honest, I've never liked Brawl TAS videos that much because with the exception of DI, there's very few things that are difficult to execute; unlike Melee TAS videos, where there's a level of execution that simply cannot be achieved, Brawl TAS videos are only impressive because of DI and flashy placement of attacks.

I'm not trying to offend anyone by the way, I'm just stating my opinion.
