Project M sends me to Wii menu. Any solution?

When I press play in Project M Launcher, it sends me to Wii menu. My Launcher Version is 1.12 and my Project M version is "Unknown". Also I am using the hombrew version and it is not updated.

usually a result of the disc taking too long to read and the codes failing iirc.

hard to tell with only the details you provided.
you could attempt to go the usb loading route instead.
