know your different pikmins strengths and weaknesses and switch your playstyle according to the pikimin you currently have. Olimar favors a stalling neutral game. If your opponent does not come at you (depending on character) you are not in any rush to go in until your pikmin turn into flowers, since they have aditional effects deppending on color and do more damage.

I somehow forgot about the flowers.. Duh he wants to stall. I feel like such an idiot for ever taking my time with Olimars instead of chasing them down immediately.
