Hi Guys,

I attended a local tournament today and managed to place 2nd after resetting the bracket in Grand Finals. I wanted some input as I definitely have many things to improve on in my game.

While I was playing I was essentially learning the Diddy matchup on the fly, constantly trying to adjust and generally just execute my moves better. Playing and reviewing the video I already have a general idea of things to improve on and what moves/execution i need to improve on but i'd like all of your input.

Things i need to improve on:

- Space grounded up b better. (Don't make it so that the opponent only has to shield grab, make them have to walk forward and or run for the grab)
- Learn to edge guard better. (Especially important against Diddy)
- Stop landing near opponent/dodging to the ground near opponent. (It gives opponents free damage)
- Overall need to use DownB more. (Didn't utilize this nearly enough against Diddy or any of the other matches)
- Git Gud(der)

My matches start from 4:44 (Quarters Losers I believe) going all the way to grand finals which start at 5:16 (The Grand Finals Diddy matches).

Just as a heads up, you shouldn't use Bowser Jr. to test damage. He takes extra damage when you hit his body and less damage when you hit his clown car.

Use back air more. It's seriously one of the best approach moves in the game. Overall, you did rather well given the matchup. :grin:

Careful when you're on the edge. Bowser has some nice coverage. Space yourself and use Down-b to cover all his grounded options. You can outrange all his ground stuff with it. Use b-air alot because he doesn't have much of an answer for it. GG's

Good job on the first stock, that was pretty cool. Post your vids in this thread next time though. That said, there are 2 things I noticed that you could improve on.

Try not to use Fair on the stage so much. Using Fair offstage is fine, but it you probably shouldn't be using it when he is on the ground.

When you Up B to recover offstage, make sure to sweetspot the ledge. When you got Fsmashed and died at like 40%, it happened because you started your Up B too high to grab the ledge.

Good job getting as far as you did. I think you went for the Side B shield break way too much vs Palutena. I also think if you went 1133 instead of 1131 you would've done better against Palutena. The wall of fire is really good at stopping her super speed approaches and SH air game.

When you played against ROB, if you just Up B'd instead of Bair (maybe your Brawl momentum canceling habit kicked in?) when ROB went for the "Heavenly Deepness" string (lol epic commentary) you would've KO'd him instead. I'm not too experienced against ROB's camp game, so I don't really know what else you could've done differently to change things. I probably would've banned Duck Hunt. You seemed to not be familiar with that stage and couldn't manage to land laglessly with Up B a few times.

Nice game. I did notice you didn't grab that often though. Not only does it change up your approach but back throw does a decent amount of damage and also allows for some space to charge giant punch.

Hey Kongs, there was an awesome Smash 4 tourney the other day. The first tournament was default, second was customs. DKwill ended up in Grand Finals. I'd like to shout out to a hype set of him vs John Numbers (Wii Fit) at 06:06:45. But there are a lot more custom Kong and generally awesome custom matches throughout.
