There's a post with this in the General Brawl Discussion section.

And we think this interview's dated anyhow, he refers to it as a couple months to release yet japans a little over a month to release. Sakurai could've called for megaman in that time.

If anything, it improves Mega Man's chances, because we know Capcom wants Mega Man in Brawl.

There is also the fact the interview is dated, without question. It's even possible this interview was made before the delay. He says "a few months" before the release in Japan, and the original release was set for November. In order to really be "a few months" from the current date it would have to have been said in September/October. It's easily possible it was as far back as July due to the potential lack of knowledge about the delay due to the timing.

Edit:
The interviews look like they are done monthly and the translation is actually off. Chances are, that was recorded sometime in November; potentially early November assuming the translation of his statements was near correct (in terms of the word "few")

Notice the entry was posted today but there is no date for the interview. I am going to find the interview and see when that was done.
It HAS to be recent or this would of been discussed about already a long time ago..

Not necessarily, wasn't the information discussing the delay that came up earlier this month from like October, and people were assuming there would be another delay because of it? Not everything gets seen so quickly. Anyway, this was actually about 3 days old, but that does not mean it was recorded 3 days ago.

Lol, Leon confirmed!

Seriously though, I'm gonna be pissed if he pulls a random third party from his ***. Except if it was Geno, then I would nearly worship him.

I'd hardly call that "deconfirmed." Just evidence against him.

Well, you get my point...it takes a real douche to laugh at and taunt people at times like this...at least to their faces :p...
Especially when you look at his sig and wonder how disappointed he will be when Brawl is released :p

Inafune: "HINT HINT NINTNENDO"
That, too...MM is far from gone imo...I just hope he's in...cuz if not, a) haters like Lord Hokage (remember?) will have won, and b) my emotionally disturbed friend will have a temper tantrum, and I'm the only one who will know for sure to tell her >_>...*invisions beating*...*chills*...

The article's from the 22nd. That doesn't prove that this podcast is recent.
The podcast is from the 19th actually, I looked at their site. However, that does not mean it was recorded on the 19th because their podcasts seem to be released monthly. The previous one was released in early November, so it easily could have been recorded in early-mid November if that was the time slot they got with him.

Still, if this is recent, and they still haven't called yet, shouldn't he not be getting his hopes up? lol.

You'd think so, but he it was implied that he wanted to get Mega Man into Brawl, and that he wanted Nintendo to contact him. That is a reason why I don't think it totally deconfirms him, and if this was in fact sometime in mid-November, it's still slightly possible to add him in. After all, look at Melee, when it was released characters were obviously still one of the projects: Ganondorf's sword is proof. So adding one in with two months left as long as they have ideas isn't THAT much of an impossible idea, especially since Melee got only 9 months of development.

I thought sonic was in brawl before they had permission from Sega to use him... Couldn't that be a reason why they haven't approached Capcom.. to see if it works first... Idk.

Ganondorf's sword was intended to be for cosmetic effect. He was never intended to have an original move set, as Sakurai specifically states on the Japanese Melee site that Ganondorf was only added at the last minute because the team noticed he had similar body proportions to Falcon.

Furthermore, the game is being released in late January, but production will wrap up much sooner. They can't ship the game the day after they finish; it takes at least a few weeks to mass produce and package. Therefore, there would only be about a month and a bit to add him, that is, if Nintendo contacted him the same day that he said this (and that may even be pushing it), and that is just simply not nearly enough time to add a character with an original move set.

As for Melee only getting 9 months of development time...what the devil are you talking about? It got about 2 years worth.

If Inafuda is telling the truth, and he probably is, Mega man is doomed. Support him all you want by all means. Just don't delude yourselves too much.

Poor Mega Man, he would have been so awesome in this game, really wanted to see him in. But since Mega Man's not going to be in, we're obviously getting Phoenix Wright instead (let me dream people)!
