Hi there! I'm going to be teaming with a pretty decent Luigi player and I was wondering what sorts of characters a Luigi would feel comfortable with. Also, what would be their general game-plan? I can play a pretty large multitude of characters at a fairly high level, so I can easily pick up a char that has more synergy with Luigi if need be. So far, all I've gotten is that Samus and Luigi actually have a good amount of synergy. Luigi can exert a lot of grounded stage control, especially via his tornado, and Samus can provide very useful support, especially missiles and zairs above Luigi's head. What are your thoughts on that team core/strategy, and are there other good team cores/strats involving Luigi?

I think Luigi is pretty great in doubles. I always play the aggro typically in my dubs matches, but I think he can play a solid support as well. My usual teammate is SoulPech, one of the best Jigglypuffs. The sandwiches between these two characters is AMAZING! He usually plays support and I know I can always rely on him when I'm in trouble. Plus Luigi can control ground while Jiggz controls the air. I have also had great success teaming with Hanky Panky, a Peach player. Same type of situation. He is great in all the same ways that SoulPech is and controls that air space. He plays more ago than SoulPech tho, but it works because he knows how to 2 v 1. I will be teaming with one of the best Snakes here shortly, so I imagine Luigi plays a bit more support in that team, but I will have to experiment here soon!

I teamed with our region's best Luigi (probably), 1+1=3, and we did fairly well. We had the most success as Samus/Luigi, although we also got some good wins with Fox/Luigi, especially when our hands were tied stage-wise. We tried out MK/Luigi as well, but that didn't work out nearly as well, although I did see some potential.
