After a nine-month absence from Super Smash Bros. Melee due to health-related concerns, elite player Kevin "EG | PPMD" Nanney confirms that he will be returning. In a long and candid update via Twitter, Nanney detailed the problems he'd been having and the solutions that he and his doctors found. While he is unsure if he will be ready to compete in time for Genesis, he does seem reasonably confident that he'll be back within the next few months. He also mentioned that his Melee skills are already returning to him:
oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my Melee skill is returning a lot and I can tell every time I play! Anyway hope you guys enjoy =)

Originally known for his methodical and efficient Falco play, PPMD also developed a ruthlessly efficient Marth. This fearsome duo helped him secure back-to-back Apex titles in 2014 and 2015. Though he struggled to remain dominant in late 2015 and beyond, this was largely due to the problems he was having outside of the game. Now that his health is improving, it's likely only a matter of time until he reaches and surpasses his former peak.
Smashboards wishes PPMD a swift and full recovery.
