I don't know if this is known already, or not, I just discovered it when I was trying out that instant dash attack thing that KID has labeled as KID technique #4. I was trying to see if dash dancing into it that could be useful. My guess is that it can't hurt. Either way I accidentally stumbled on this. It seems like it is most likely already known but in case not, I figured i should post it. When you do a pivot in your run, right at the end of a pivot if you hit down c you can do a down smash. I think Samurai panda showed you could do this already with pivot smashing or w/e, but I haven't seen anyone apply it to Sonic's downsmash. It might help sonic's game since it might help get the kill. I can post a vid if anyone wants to see.

You can cancel the pivot into anything. Look at one of phanna's threads.

I remember him showing off pivot taunts.

**** was so cash.

That's Samurai Panda's dash pivot cancel.

I have been able to also do it out of phanna's "True Pivot" tech, but that's really hard, and since Sonic's D-smash starts in the direction he's facing, it's not as useful for him lol.

Oh well, I figured it was probably that dash pivot thing. I hadn't seen anyone use it so I wasn't sure. I guess your right, it would be kind of impractical.

hey, dash pivot cancel to F-smash is pretty good. Because if you C-stick the F-smash, it's an auto stutterstep. So you're like, a little under half the stage away, you start to turn around, they release shield, and "OHWTFFSMASH?!"

mindgaaames.

malcom does it a lot in his game, its teh secks.

and I think the tech this thread is about is the same one that izzy came up with about a month after the game came out about how he could extend the down smash, but wouldnt tell us how. it was funny. im pretty sure MC and boxy are the only ones that have been here long enough to remember that tho

I don't think I was there for the initial hype.

I do remember that while looking through TwinkleToes' guide, you guys poked at Izzy about the extended D-smash thing.

I wasn't involved at the Sonic board at the time, but I do remember reading several of Izzy's threads about extending the dsmash.

just in case you guys dont know, another way to extend the down smash is to go to an edge, facing it and down smash,
sonics forward motion will sit still and than when he recoils he will go way far back and than when it ends, he will be about a half a rolls distance into the stage,

Just in case you didn't know, that's exactly what izzy was talking about, extending the range was a joke, this is all that had 'found', we all knew about this.
