I'd rather just have heartgold and soulsilver include all the extras that crystal had rather then buying a completely new game just for some extra features that have already been invented and should have been in the past games.

Crystal was never in Gold/Silver was she? She can't be replaced if she never existed in the first place.

She's from second gen. Logic would dictate that she'd probably go in there. And, this is a remake. This isn't a reenactment.

Yeah, she was...she may not be called Kris, but that's exactly it. The female from second gen was Kris, and now she's not anymore. Yeah she wasn't in Gold/Silver, but there wasn't any girl at all in them, while there was one in the third rendition.

I think they would have to use the old timeline, or a difrent line, it would be the only way to make Kanto interesting to go to (If kanto is included), Also if kanto is included, are the sevvi islands going to be included and the events for deoxeys? (Birth island)

yup ur totally right, you could catch both of them it just depended on what copy the level was 40 ho-oh and 70 lugia, vice versa.

If she looked like this, I wouldn't have a problem. (It was originally a full-body picture, but unfortunately, I screwed up the layering in openCanvas so everything from the elbows down got erased.)

Yeah, that's what I was saying...you can catch both Lugia and Ho-Oh in both Gold and Silver, a tradition which was quickly abandoned from third gen on, hence the current "HEY BUY THIS GAME FOR THE LEGENDARY".

And apparently, after research, both birds are level 60 in Crystal, which I think would allow them to keep their signature moves -- Sacred Fire and Aeroblast, which are lost by level 70.

Ah, ok, I read it wrong then. I agree - it got stupid with Gen 3; you couldn't catch both Kyogre & Groudon until Emerald. That didn't bother me as much since I didn't play Gen 3 before Emerald anyway.

That is the one thing I hated about Silver - no Sacred Fire. For years, I never knew it existed, and when I saw it for the first time (using the AR Max Duo to warp to the Lugia/Ho-Oh Island), I thought it was a move added to Gen 3. In retrospect, I should've bought Gold as well, but I didn't.

Well, the new games have move relearners anyway, so you can do that anytime you want now...as long as you have heart scales.

well i'm excited that they finally announced the gold and silver remakes, they were the best generation ever. however, it looks like they will have (just like sapphire, ruby, emerald, diamond, pearl, and platinum) evs, and that to me, just plain sucks. i wish they never included that just like it was back then during the johto generation...

This doesn't make any sense for the following reasons:

1) Your lack of punctuation and grammatical skills hinders your argument.

2) EVs were present in all generations of Pokemon, including Generation 2.

3) EVs don't hinder gameplay in any way, I don't really understand your logic here. What makes EVs so detrimental to a game? Without insider knowledge and hacking, we would never know what EVs are except for them affecting stats.

Effort values (abbreviated EVs and previously called Stat XP) are attributes which give bonuses to a Pokémon's stats and improve differently depending which Pokémon they defeat. These bonuses are gained in addition to bonuses gained by increasing level. A Pokémon which increases in level using a Rare Candy instead of battling does not gain any EVs, making it weaker than a Pokémon who increases in level normally.

yeah the EV's back then worked on an all stat basis, adding to your total stats dependant on the stats of the pokemon you knocked out. the total stats you could acheive was way more extreme then the 3rd and 4th gen, i have some pokemon with incredibly high stats that would surprise people who dont know of evs in the first 2 generations lol

It seems odd to remove something at the beta stage of programming (I assume) unless it has fundamental flaws; as typically the program is at the last stage of developement by the time it hits beta test. Was there something broken, glitchy, or unfun about having a skateboard?

Despite the cool factor of a skateboard, realistically it wouldn't do good in the Pokemon World. Your going over cement,dirt, mud, rocky terrain and up hills. A bike would be a better choice as its more adaptive to a natural and city environment than a skateboard which is mostly suited to cities and urban areas.

not really the tower is there for the competitive spirit of battling, not leveling up your pokemon. a lot of modes change your level to fit a set standard anyways, so it would be hard to add exp like that.

pokemon stadium 1 and 2 were great because of all the extras, the gym leaders and everything else.
