I want to know something:

Will they supersize all the legendaries like they did in DPP? (their outside sprites)

If so, I'm getting HeartGold first.

Supersized Ho-Oh will be epic.

Also: along with the new mystery dungeon games coming out on WiiWare, 2010 will be an EPIC year. I can already tell. I'm excited for both of them.

It's "Sinnoh", not Shinno...

And, it's "Johto", not Jhoto...

I'm hoping for some new evolutions, though FR & LG didn't have any added evolutions of Pokemon. I want a Jynx, a Girafarig, and a Sunflora evolution really bad. :urg:

I also hope that somewhere in the games, you can obtain Horsea before beating Pryce. Horsea-Kingdra would be awesome beginning-to-end Pokemon.

I highly doubt that, just maybe some OTHER ways to obtain evos like for the location Pokemon.

Yeah, I had to import Horsea from Blue version so I could experience having a Kingdra! EPIC!!

This isn't a new generation, it's just a remake, so it'll be breaking with tradition to add any new Pokemon. And I highly doubt they would do that, unless they really feel that they have to add new Pokemon every game to get people to buy it, in which case we're screwed.

On the other hand, we may get some new forms...that's all the rage
candybar
right now.

Expect it when Fifth Gen comes out, though.

Would it be smart to start a new thread about what in-game teams people will be using in HG/SS, or should I just ask it here?

Well then...

What starter are you guys gonna choose? I'm definetly going with Chikorita this time, since I always choose the grass starter.

I also have two other Pokemon that are most likely gonna be on my team: Togekiss and Ampharos. First off, the Togepi family trio have been my favorite Pokemon since Gold and Silver, where I had a Togetic, and Diamond and Pearl, where I trained a Togepi after the E4. I think they're a creative family of Pokemon, and are great to use as in-game Pokemon.

The Ampharos family is another example of creative Pokemon, which is why I'll be using them in HG/SS. They have three evolutions (perfect for an in-game team), they have decent stats, and you can find Mareep early on in the game.

I'll probably go with Cyndaquil. Totodile's probably my favorite but I'm using one in Platinum right now. I might get an Ampharos too, remember using one of those in my old Crystal game. Same with Steelix :3

I'm definitely choosing Totodile. I chose Cyndaquil on my last playthrough and I hate Chikorita's smug little face.

   You're opinion on Chikorita makes me mad on the face

It's hard to choose for me. I don't like Tododile that much, but he is a power house. Cyndaquil I chose a lot of times (probably 2 or 3). And maybe Chikorita on 2 playthroughs, and Tododile on only 1. I might choose Tododile so he can feel a bit even, but only on my imported version if I decide to get one. On the real version, Cyndaquil is all mine :chuckle:

And Kanto was already confirmed.

If there's more than 2 wild Fire-type Pokemon in the game, I might find a reason not to use Cyndaquil. It's obnoxiously lame to get through D/P without Monferno to kill all the annoying Bronzors and Bronzongs.

Not sure if people will mind the bump, but the official trailer was just released, showing that you really interact with your Pokemon a LOT throughout the game. If they actually show you're Pokemon doing the move cut, then I wonder if you'll be surfing on top of the Pokemon too.

Oh, and amazing graphics. Seriously.

Oh wow, same with the music. I thought it'd be dumbed down and slowed down in HGSS because of past generation music, but it seems they kept the same epicness they did in the 2nd generation.

It's going to be easy for me.

Typlosion FTW!

Although I really want a Meganium, so I'll have get a chikorita, trade it to platinum, and restart with cyndaquil. Too bad you can't just start with eevee and get all the starters as you proceed (gamecube pokemon games were awesome about that).

Wow, this is looking great. It actually shows Pokemon using HMs. I love the fall trees too. ^_^

Nintendo.............doing something right.....woah!

Always have to go with the fire starter, only in platinum did I choose different, due to the fact I did not need two Infernapes. Too bad Typlosion is a lesser used poke in competition, but I am sure he will find room on my team that has been in the making ever since Sapphire

I wonder what happens if you use a HM from a pokemon that isn't first in your party...

THat video assumed the pokemon first in the party had the necessary HM...

Starter: I think I might have used all 3 (on different files of course) when I played through Silver back in the day, but definitely going with Cyndaquil. What better way to torture myself against Whitney than using a Pokemon weak to Rollout?

In my shining, ideal world...
The only reason I wasn't going to use Cyndaquil at all is because Growlithe/Vulpix is available rather early in the game (I can't help it, I always though Growlithe was better than any starter in the game when I was a kid, even better than the coward Cyndaquil).

That only leaves Totodile and Chikorita that would be likely be my starter, but I find Totodile a rather... Unappealing-looking pokémon. It just seems ugly in my opinion, more ugly than Chikorita is fat. Man, if only Johto had something like Torchic in its day, something pretty cool to see, I'd use it, but...

I never really liked the 2nd gen starters in the slightest. They seemed so... I dunno, bland and un-memorable. The nostalgia people keep feeling for 2nd gen rubs me the wrong way, since well... I forgotten any "good" 2nd gen gave us. I guess playing too much 3rd gen gave me cancer, so I can't agree with the majority. ;>_>

Seems like you turn off what pokémon follows you. Eh, I'm still letting my precious shiny Ninetales follow me around in-game, despite how I need to get all the way to Jasmine just to be able to use without the ol' "OMG I'm not your pokémon! I must disrespect you all the time olololol!".

It also sucks when Hg/Ss even comes out in America, there isn't going to be a large fangasm, judging how hyped Platinum was / The sales turn-out on the first week.

Come to think of it, what happens when you use a pokemon that isn't a starter?

The pokemon in the video was a pokemon that could follow you around. However, I don't want to teach my starter HMs, that's what Bidoofs were made for.

It also had a Tyrannitar using Rock SMash

Though teaming the HM Waterfall to Feraligatr if you choose him

The previews almost made me change my pants... almost. Well, the god of all Pokemon is almost officially out without using an Action Replay.

* Eusine from Crystal appears in the story based on the Legendary Beasts
* The level 1 Dialga, Palkia & Giratina know Metal Burst, Hydro Pump & Shadow Sneak respectively
* There are 9 new touch-screen based mini-games
* It is also said that Latios, Latias & Mewtwo are available within the game - Unconfirmed
* Confirmation of Lugia & Ho-Oh at Level 45
* Confirmation of Red Gyarados returning at Level 30

This is awesome (from serebii)

Thyphlosion is the better choice, especially since you beat off most gyms easier. If you hate pesky water types, you can learn thunder punch...! :) If you don't care so much about your stats it's a good choice. But in general, special moves are a little more recommended. In that sense Feraligatr is a much better choice!
